Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Someone was telling me about this horror movie called Session 9. It sounds very interesting and looks like it would be a good movie. I was wondering if anyone else knew anything about it. Rather then give an explanation of it here i'll just link to it. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0261983 http://www.amazon.com/exec....9871320
Guest Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Did I hear someone calling my name? Session 9. Hmmm. Hell yeah, I have seen it. I saw it in the theatre last year and own the DVD. Personally, I thought it was one of the better films of 2001 (it was a runner up for my top 10 list). Just so you know, the film was shot on super digital video, and it may be distracting at first, but then you get used to it, and it kind of suites the movie. As for the movie itself, it's a creepy, psychological type film about some guys cleaning out an abandoned mental hospital with a wicked past. The entire movie is pure atmosphere and depends on the location (they use a real abandoned mental hospital) and the creepy backstory. There isn't any real "in your face horror", more darkness & sounds, that kind of stuff. Anyway, I suggest you check it out, especially if you like intelligent horror. The ending is great too. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 25, 2002 eeexcellent... The guy i was talking to hadn't seen it just read about it. It's nice to hear that it's good from someone that has seen it. I'm eyeing a copy on ebay as we speak so hopefully i shall have it. Speaking of which how is the DVD of it? Guy i talked to said it's a qaulity release with good extras. Guest Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Yeah, the DVD is pretty good. Deleted scenes, alternate ending, director's commentary, anamorphic widescreen, 5.1. You can't do much better than that.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Session 9 is a movie I always passed on the rental shelves and always told myself I'd rent eventually, along with Mimic 2 and Wishmaster 3. Sounds like I'll actually have to fulfill my promise for Session 9 since it's, ya know, a film that's actually worth the time and rental. I always get Session 9 mixed up with Series 7 (it's easy to see because of the title similarities, right?). Is that film worth seeing as well? It's at the local Hollywood Video, but strangely Amazon.com doesn't have it as being available on either DVD or video yet. Is a release planned?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 25, 2002 I've heard that Series 7 which is also called Series 7: The Contenders is good and that came from someone that is dependable on knowing a good movie. It's on my list too. Well you're right Amazon doesn't list it as being on DVD. However Ebay has two dvds of it for sale. One is a Region 2 but the other isn't. Either Amazon hasn't ordered any or the one on ebay is a bootleg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1538380640
Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Series 7 is available on DVD, it's a pretty pumped special edition. I imagine Amazon doesn't have it because it's not mainstream enough. Can't say for sure.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Amazon has more "small audience" movies then you'd think they would.
