King of the ring winner

It's time for the King of the Ring again this year. My question is: who's going to win it? I see only three real candidates: Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam, and Booker T. All three have been getting a fair amount of airtime and get good reactions from the crowd.

 

Another point: how will the tournament be staged? Will Raw and Smackdown each run their tourny's and have the two winners meet at the ppv? That'd be the most logical course of action to me.

 

I'm guessing that Rob Van Dam will win in the final round going against either Brock Lesnar or Test.

Realistically, Test will win and become the worst King since Kings Edge, Ass and Mabel

If you look closely at the King of the Ring poster, the shadowy figure is obvioulsy Brock Lesnar. Lesnar has a unique frame and the figure matches it perfectly. I know posters mean shit pretty much (Vengeance with HHH featured on it) but it's still a hint of who they had in mind when they made the poster

I think Lesnar is just going to fuck someone up during a match for KOTR at Heyman's request, and get DQ'ed. They're going to push that break-up.

I'm not sure....if RVD is in the tourney, he wins it hands down.  Obviously if he somehow gets a match against UT then he won't be in it.  Otherwise what is there for him to do?  He's been jobbed out to Eddie for reasons that escape me, and if he doesn't get a world title shot they pretty much have to give him KOTR.  

 

Eddie won't win since he has a belt already.  Booker will maybe get to the semis but be jobbed due to NWO fucking up.  

 

I say RVD over Brock in the finals.

Eddy would probably be ruled out because of the Austin feud. I assume they'll blow their lil thing off at KOTR.

 

So yeah, its probably either gotta be RVD or Booker T getting the big W. I agree with whoever said Lesnar will probably be DQ'ed for turning his opponent into a small puddle of blood.

 

Or maybe they'll say fuck it and Test will big boot his way to supremacy. God help us if that happens.

In all seriousness, I see Billy Gunn becoming a two time KOTR champion. He will then have a greater push than 1999, becoming the WWF Champion (managed by Chuck and Rico) at Unforgiven 2002 (at the earliest).

I would like if Lesnar won it, but he will probably be DQ'ed against a Hardy or something.  So, I figure that the WWE will screw it up, so, of the guys being pushed right now, I feel that giving it to D-Von would be the biggest mistake of the bunch, so I fully expect him to win it.

The general concensus appears to be RVD winning it (saw him at a house show friday btw, very cool). Assuming that Van Dam does win the tourny, will his status in the WWF improve? He's insanely over with the fans, yet he doesn't appear over with management (based on his IC title loses).

 

Does the WWF have enough confidence in him? Will winning the tourny motivate him more?

I'd rather they push an RVD/brock feud, then have RVD be the first to be any sort of threat to brock. don't mind which one goes over, but w/o someone like rob to feud with brock's reign could be distasterous. And have booker split with the nwo in there too, cos realistically he ain't winning shit, but it's ideal for the face turn.

Why does anyone want Lesnar to win the damn thing? Granted, he has a cool finisher but has this guy done anything to warrant a push to the top. Maybe it's the booking, Heyman, the Hardys, or his distinct lack of noticable personality but this guy has not impressed me at all.

 

Realistically, I see a Test-Booker T final with Booker going over in the battle of TNT!!!

This year's KOTR is looking to be one of the hardest events to call in quite some time. I can realistically see RVD, Booker T, Brock Lesnar or maybe even Kurt Angle picking up the win. HOWEVER, I would love to see Lance Storm pick up the win, I think he would be the best guy to give it to as his career could benefit the most from it and I wouldn't be suprised to see the WWE pull the trigger on it.

Its gonna be one of those years that the winner wont even be able to be determined until the day of the ppv. In 2000, when they had Guerrero, Benoit, Jericho and Angle all in the tourney, i had no idea who would win. Of course theres gonna be your cinderella's (Crash Holly, or Saturn in the quarters last year, hell even Savio Vega!) and theres gonna be your "What in the blue hell is he doing in there" picks (Bull Buchanon, Mabel, frickin Savio Vega!) so this year is gonna be a huge combination of all of these factors. With that being said, its gonna be someone who no one wants to win this year, and regretfully im gonna have to go with Test. It makes me sick to think of him winning, but i can just see it in my mind and it makes me sick to my stomach, Damn!

I think Maven will be in the finals against Brock Lesnar. Two rookies will clash, although Maven will obviously be the underdog. At one point in the match, Brock gets screwed over by a returning Rhyno who gives him a ~GORE~ and Maven wins. Than they go on to push an angle that Rhyno is the only man that can take Brock down.

 

 

 

 

Of course we all know that's all a bunch of crap and that Test will Big Boot his way to Kingness. GO TEST GO

Why?  Anglesault has made his biases prefectly clear numerous times.  What he said wasn't a cheap shot at all.  

 

Besides ... Anglesault takes cheap shots, too.  Now that's not normally a bad thing, except that all his remarks are trite and predictable.

I don't think that's much of a possibility, but if it does happen, it'd be the least enjoyable thing I could imagine at the pay-per-view.  Unless they hug right after.
