You know I was sitting there watching that Mr. Perfect promo and I was thinking "Why is Perfect cheating!? He should've beaten that kid in 2 moves!"

Are they trying to say that Mr. Perfect is no longer Perfect!? What's next? Is he going to drop the touchdown pass to himself?

I think they were trying to get the point across that Perfect is a heel. There are MANY other ways to let people know he's a heel. Mr. Perfect is supposed to be "perfect".

I agree.  Mr. Perfect isnt suppose to be cheating against some 18 year old punk.  I feel bad for Mr. Perfect, i think he could have been on the upper card.  But i doubt that will happen now that N.W.O. are around.

Mr. Perfect will more than likely be in the nWo. Because he's a former member and all. Plus why would he fight them to save the WWF?

Also. Where is this mentality coming from that EVERY SINGLE heel has to cheat!?!?!?!? I mean people are like "Jericho's a heel he's supposed to cheat!" and now everytime a heel cheats they say "Well they're a heel they're supposed to cheat!" not every heel cheats! Like Tony said. There are other ways to get him over as a heel.

I've read Perfect won't be in the nWo, but who knows what the WWF will think of. I have no idea why every heel is a cheating bastard now. Must be something in the water. Mr. Perfect could get over as a heel by doing things perfect, and by telling the fans he's perfect. He shouldn't cheat. It would kill the whole idea of the "Mr. Perfect" gimmick.

I don't think Perfect will be going to the nWo.  The WWF is going to build him up through vignettes for his huge return when he wins the IC title.

Yeah but Mr. Perfect won't seem like IC champ unless they give him the classic belt.

Anyways....that's the thing. He should just be perfect at everything. And he'll let everyone know it. And it'll just annoy the hell out of the fans because he's damn good and they can't do anything about it.

I am amazed at people badmouthing the chess skit.  No one seems to get what they are going for.  See, Perfect is older now and not quite in his prime, so he has to do some sneakiness in order to maintain his status.  I thought it was pretty funny.  I think that Keith even suggested a gimmick like this when Hennig was in WCW....where he is still pretty damn good but he will miss one free throw out of 20, that sort of thing.

How come people like Nash and Hall get the "old" label attached to them as reasons why they shouldn't be pushed, but having an old broken down Curt Hennig is on the roster is AOK?  How come Rocky is blasted for over selling but its fine for Hennig?  How come Triple H has "no moveset" but Hennig gets away with a cradle suplex and not much else?  Am I missing something?

Hennig can still wrestle unlike Nash & Hogan. Hall seems like he can still go, if he has his working boots on.

<<How come people like Nash and Hall get the "old" label attached to them >>

I don't think many people attach the "old" label on Hall.  On Nash, yes, but they just put an "alcoholic who has talent, but prefers vodka and scratching limos over wrestling.

<< as reasons why they shouldn't be pushed, but having an old broken down Curt Hennig is on the roster is AOK? >>

Perfect's not as good as he was in 1990, but when the man wants to wrestle a good match, he can.  In WCW, guys like Hennig had no inspiration to do anything, so they didn't.

<< How come Rocky is blasted for over selling but its fine for Hennig? >>

Rock sells?  Well, I guess he does.

There's a difference between Rocky's overselling and Curt's.

Curt's a master of it, like Flair.

<< How come Triple H has "no moveset" but Hennig gets away with a cradle suplex and not much else?  >>

Ditto on what Kahran Ramsus wrote.

<< Am I missing something? >>

Yes

You haven't watched Hennig much if you think he only has the Perfectplex.

Ok, he also has a knee lift, a rolling neck snap, and a shin breaker... happy?   Face it, Hennig has never been big on dropping a load of moves on people in his career, and if you think he has, you are wrong.

He wrestled his ass off in the AWA.  He is also very good at selling/bumping when he is able to.  Hennig comes from a time where being able to work with the other guy was as important as being charismatic.

If you watch his work with Hart you'd understand.

Hennig is a very good wrestler. The moves that were listed are pretty much his trademarked moves. He does other moves as well. He didn't do much in WCW, but he did a lot in his early WWF days.

Trust me if Verne Gagne puts the World Title on you (and you aren't related to him), you can wrestle.

Check out his semi final match of the 1st KOTR with Bret Hart or his Loser Leaves the WWF match from Raw with Flair back in 93.  Hennig is up there with these guys in terms of technical skills.

The chess skit reminded me of Wrstlemania 11 when Backlund lost to JJT.  Maybe Hennig saw that and didn't want to be embarrassed like Backlund was, so thats why he cheated. :)

If I'm not mistaken Hennig didn't cheat in any of his original Perfect skits and got over huge as a heel, so much so that he was going to get the world title but had to settle for the IC because of some bald guy who was champ at the time not wanting to put over a worker or something.

He shouldn't have cheated at chess to beat some kid, it ,makes him look like a parody of his former self.

I hope they didn't sign Hennig just to make him look bad. That would be stupid. I still don't like how they made Perfect cheat when he's supposed to be perfect at everything he does.

While he may not be as good in the ring as he was 10 years ago he is still very good on the mic and at working the crowd.  His match aginst Val was going pretty well on Raw and he looked good at the RR.  So he seeems to still have it and as such should still be Perfect.

Hennig can definitely work the crowd and the ring well - there's no comparison whatsoever with Nash and Hogan there - but I have to say that, while the idea of the skit was good, it came off just a little bit /awkward/.  You know, good idea, bad execution?

Yeah, the bad execution was Perfect cheating when his whole gimmick is for him to be perfect.

Hennig has enough charisma to pull this off.  If he can get a Country Music gimmick over, he is quite talented.  The Rednecks were more over than Double J ever was.

As for the age problem:

1)  Hennig is not as old as the NWO.

2)  He is not as talented as he once was but is still above average at least.

3)  He is possibly healthier than he was in his prime.

4)  He won't be main eventing like the NWO will be.

5)  He is not a backstage cancer.

Thats what bothers me about smarks and ric flair. He's several years older than Hogan, yet all the smarks rag on hogan for his age and worship the ground flair walks on. Im not saying hogan isnt old, but its a double standard. Flair is a freaking geezer, like it or not, and just like people say about hogan, he held people down, yet flair is this big shot and hogan is a piece of trash. I know hogan isnt half the worker that flair is, but he's twice the character, yet he gets no respect. So sue me, im a hogan mark, these things irk me.

Because Hogan has never been a good wrestler, holds wrestlers down, and is a backstage cancer that lives off his name when he should have retired after he left the WWF.  Flair didn't hold anyone down in WCW until Hogan's influence held down Steve Austin.  Flair has also proven that he can still wrestle better than Hogan, despite the fact that I'd rather Flair not be wrestling since he'll never be as good as he was years ago.
