New Jack works for Gary Yap again...WOW

Recommended Posts

Results from Pro Wrestling War on Friday night, cut and pasted from SoCalUncensored.com:

Pretty surprising. As I said on SCU's board, I truly can't believe New Jack is working for Yap. It was one thing when Yap had left the company, but now that he's back on the shows...that's a shocker. It'd be like Messiah working an SCCW show for Kleinrock. Sounds like a good show overall. I'm happy they're giving the spotlight to Tony Kozina. He deserves it (and always has).

Great show! Yap + New Jack = another Mass Transit episode waiting to happen. I can't believe, especially after what happened in Florida with New Jack almost killing that kid, that this will end well.

Apollo vs. Hook was a decent opener but if its intent was to get the crowd into the show, it failed.

The Hardkore Kidd then came to the ring and challenged Teddy Hart to face him at the next show, which got a great pop. If Hart is there, I am too.

Charles Mercury vs. Alex Kozlov (sp?) was better than the opener, but not by a lot. Again, decent match that unfortunately suffered from being so random. Kozlov has a great look, though.

The 10-man was surprisingly good. I was expecting this to be a huge mess, but the crowd was really into it.

Kozina vs. Aries was good, too, but I think we all had a suspicion that a run-in was looming on the horizon. Of course it happened, with Yap's boys screwing Austin out of the championship. Yap ranted and raved until New Jack came to the ring and cut a great promo about how he was going to kill Yap. Scary stuff, with Jack pulling out the biggest knife that I've ever seen and vowing to gut Yap at he next show. I don't know how much of this was shoot and how much was a work, but Yap looked legit scared and his boys weren't helping the matter.

Super Dragon vs. Markus Riot was better than I thought it would be but Riot's inexperience was pretty obvious. It didn't stop him from trying his heart out, though. Despite a few botched spots, I really liked this match. It didn't seem like Dragon was slouching it, either.

The X-Foundation tag was good but Scott Lost seemed off and a lot of the timing and the pacing of the match seemed off, too. Good win, though.

The main was Davey vs. Shannon Moore, doing his punk rock gimmick. Both guys really worked here and it showed. Great match despite the ending, which looked like Davey accidentally stepped on Moore's pant leg, blowing the finish.

Between the Yap/New Jack thing, the possibility of the HKK/Teddy Hart feud, and more Shannon Moore, I think War could really find its own nitch here in SoCal. Thumbs up.

Hook Bomberry over Apollo Khan via submission.

Charles Mercury over Alex Khoslov via being a HEEEEEEEL

Team WPW over Team HRW in the ten-man tag. Highly entertaining. The WPW guys seem like pure class. They even thanked the folks in attendance post-match.

Tony Kozina and Astin Aries went to a no-contest when, surprise surprise, Gary Yapp UN-quit from WAR...Again. Bo Cooper, Joey Epic, Yapp and Tony Kozina beat down Aries and Kozina made the pin. Knox was knocked out but they slapped his hand down three times and took the belt.

Post-Match New Jack appeared and cut a profane yet hillarious promo on Yapp and how he was gunna kick some ass next show. Pulled out a bunch of sharp shit, asked us to buy DVDs to he could buy drugs, etc. Good appearance, looking forward to him next month.

INTERMISSION

Super Dragon over Marcus Riot...Who is a face again. Didn't he JOIN Team Epic? Who knows...

X-Foundation over Lol Cholo and Alterboy Luke via... being HEEEEELS. Awesome heels too.

Davey Richards over Shannon Moore. PRetty damn good match. Looked like a missed spot of two in the end but overall a fun time.

Good show, got me interested in War again. But fuck is that gym in the park in the middle of nothingness or what?
