Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2005 So I'd like to buy Wolfenstein 3D for my laptop. The laptop is brand new and it runs on Windows XP. I heard that if i wanted to buy a lot of old games like W3D that I'd have to do some kind of crazy configuring to get it to work on XP. Does anyone know how I would do this or what I have to do to have old games run on XP?
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2005 Off the top of my head, I think Wolfenstein 3D will work without tweaking in XP. It works fine on my computer. There are certain DOS games that have problems with XP but Wolf3D shouldn't be one of them.
Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2005 There is a great piece of software for old Dos games called Dos-Box, it emulates Dos 6.22 perfectly with Soundblaster midi music and they play at the right speed, its part of an excellent site called http://www.xtcabandonware.com/ Just click on applications, and its the first one in the list
Guest Leelee Report post Posted November 2, 2005 It's not that involved... Right click the program that you want to play, and go to properties. Then, compatibility. Then, click make this program compatible with Windows 95, 98, NT, etc...
