Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2002 In my opinion it was an easy thumbs up with an awesome cruiserweight match and a pretty good 5 minute Venis/Holly match Now if they just keep the workrate up, this could be the show to watch if you want to see a really good match each week
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Thumb in the middle, only saved from being down by the Cruiser match. More wrestling (like the cruiser match), less recapping please.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Was I the only one who caught a little nip slip at the end of the B&P match?
Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Can anyone send me a link of pictures from Velocity since I missed it.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Easy thumbs up- cruiser match ruled.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted May 26, 2002 All they needed to do was to improve Metal to get a Thumbs Up from me, and they did that. I like the colour scheme of the graphics. And I'm glad they ended the whole Jakked/Metal confusion. They finally have another equal to Heat.
Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted May 26, 2002 It was alright. I would have preferred a little more action in the cruiser match but J.R. would have attacked them. (We can't have anyone making the HOSSES look bad now.) I understood the use of psychology but I think they would have gotten a better reaction if they had started off with some high flying stuff. And then when Kidman made a mistake, Tajiri could have slowed down the pace. Of course they also might have gotten a better reaction if the WWE ever pushed either of them as being important. I didn't order Backlash but all the reports said that the fans got really behind Kidman and were even chanting his name. How did the WWE follow it up? They didn't. Why not put him with Torrie instead of friggin Maven? Venis/Holly was fine but what was the purpose of putting Holly over clean. Holly will never be anything more than a low midcard guy. Venis, on the other hand, has the look, the skills and the charisma to become a main event guy. Hell, he's even as gassed up as Triple H. I did laugh at the line before the women's match where Michael Cole said something like there was no denying Vince McMahon was a marketing genius. They've got attendance, ppv buyrates, ratings and fan interest all in a free fall. But if Michael Cole says it then it must be true.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Why not put him with Torrie instead of friggin Maven? Because Kidman isn't a "homegrown" WWE wrestler. Can't have them getting hot valets or opportunities on the major shows...
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Who's going to get me the tape?
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 26, 2002 You REALLY want a copy of the tape? If I were to get either of the new shows, I would chose Confidential (despite the fact that Mean Gene sure did suck last night).
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Eh, I'm tired of homegrown stars like Billy Gunn and Test.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 26, 2002 I was hoping I could get the full two hours. I want to see the cruiserweight match, and I missed the first half hour of the Montreal thing last night.
