Guest Big Poppa Popick Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 Quite honestly I cannot concieve that the WWF would engage purposefully in destroying characters and angle that could gain them money and ratings Now, if you want to question their intelligence, that's a different story
Guest Loss4Words Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 vince may be slow, but the conspiracy theorists gained some pretty heavy ammunition with rvd's pops allegedly being muted. Oh, you're right there but since when is HHH part of the post-production and editing crew? HHH is a convenient scapegoat, I'll grant you that, but if he's pulling any stunts at all, he's only doing what he's allowed to do. All blame for everything wrong in the WWF ALWAYS, without exception, lies at the feet of Vince McMahon. He's so insistent on not giving his employees public credit for helping him along the way, so he should not only received all credit, but receive all criticism. If there's a conspiracy, Vince is at the helm, and it's because he doesn't want to push a star that he didn't create. Time has proven that while Vince is a little more reserved than most promoters have been, he does not always do what is best for business. Usually, his ego wins out, and if him being the top heel for the past five years, having his children all over TV, announcing for a decade when he didn't even know what most of the moves were called and making the director of talent relations kiss his ass on national television doesn't prove that, I don't know what does. He is surrounded by advisors that luckily will knock some sense into him occasionally. Their efforts aren't always successful, but they are enough of the time to keep the WWF from completely going overboard. If I was a WWF employee, I would talk all the time about what a genius Vince is and give him constant public credit for his accomplishments. I would completely kowtow to him, because Vince is the kind of guy that if you suck up to him enough, he will reward you for your "loyalty", regardless of whether or not you're over, a draw or the fans want to see someone else in your role more. HHH knows how to use the system to his advantage and that doesn't make him manipulative, it makes him smart. Vince McMahon is such an insecure person that he needs his ego fed constantly. The wrestlers who haven't figured that out yet are total idiots.
Guest Brian Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 I may be wrong but hasn't Vince taken full charge for the last few months or so and Triple H and Steph only been on the outskirts.
Guest One Bad Apple Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 Loss4Words: And even Michael Cole mentions how the WWF is about to be destroyed before going right into a hype job for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If they don't care,I sure as hell refuse to do so. I'd say it's more of a lack of an eye for detail than them not caring. You could argue that that's the same thing, but sometimes people don't have that eye for detail. Loss4Words: Why does a wrestler's music have to play EVERY TIME that he walks to the ring? Yeah,if they're the ones starting a dueling promo, go for it, but if someone's music starts before they interrupt an ongoing interview in the ring, it doesn't exactly seem unexpected does it? WWF whatevers in the back are each assigned to a particular wrestler. When that wrestler wants to go to the ring 'cause someone is talkin' smack, the whatever walkie-talkies the truck and tells them to start so-and-so's music. It's wrestling. It's fun to point out that stuff once in a while, but getting upset about it is silly. I'm sure everyone would laugh if somebody came in here and complained about how they're sick of all the rope-running 'cause it's soooooo fake-looking. The Mighty Damaramu: Yeah....it's frustrating. What's more frustrating is that the marks eat it up with a spoon and there's nothing we can do. I don't wanna be mean, but you sound like a condescending jackass. The Mighty Damaramu: Whoa....sorry about that guys. Sometimes I scare even myself. Well, I wanna be a jackass for a minute and tell you that wasn't funny.
Guest One Bad Apple Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 January 7th- RVD curtain jerks against Test...HHH returns. Being the first one out doesn't necessarily mean you're the lowest one on the card. I think I remember Raven versus Saturn being right before the main event once. RVD went to challenge Jericho at Christmas RAW and found Storm... Then HHH came back and RVD's feud was over. It actually ended on a Heat. RVD versus Christian, Jericho runs in and beats him up to give Rob a DQ win.
Guest Dick Hertz Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 I dont think RVD is bieng depushed. If he was he wouldnt be on our TV at all. I think they are more or less trying to push Goldust, im not sure why, but they are. Just because he isnt main eventing yet doesnt mean hes being "held down." By the way, it seems everyone agrees he should take the IC belt at WM, incuding myself. They should be setting up a credible heel IC champion right now. Maybe thats what theyre trying to do with Regal, bu it just isnt working.
Guest dreamer420 Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 Goldust is being pushed pretty heavily right now I think so RVD is a good choice for a feud. I'm not sure who is going to go over at No Way Out though.
