Music/songs that get you in "the mood"

Recommended Posts

Guest Flyboy

Heh.. weird, interesting topic I know, but I'm bored.

You read the topic & topic describer... spill the beans.

I know you guys probably don't even USE music, but if you did what would it be?

I'll post mine later, go through my MP3s or something... too sleepy, now.

But, I will say that most R.Kelly songs get the job done... if it works for underage girls... it can work for yours, too!  j/k  :P (cheap joke at Kelly, love his music though)

Everything off of Type O Negative's October Rust album. I think the entire CD was just based on fucking...

My favorite get in the mood music is mostly R&B joints

R.Kelly: The Greatest Sex, Bump and Grind (remix), 12 Play, The Down Low.

Marvin Gaye: Let's Get it on, and Sexual Healing

Isley Brothers: Between the sheets and Contagious

3 Piece: Sexy Girl

Jesse Powell: YOU

Jodeci: I wanna hear you moan

Usually old R&B never fails...

The Chi-Lites

The Manhattans

Marvin Gaye

Al Green

The Spinners

even Sly & The Family Stone

Also for reasons unknown, Jane's Addiction works really well for me also.

R&B works pretty well.  I'll probably try Remy Shand as well - his music has the right vibe, I think.

Barry White, Luther Vandross are always good songs to get into the mood for romance

or if your in the mood for strip clubs then nothing is better than Lords of Acid, Motely Crue, 2 Live Crew, Luke, any glam/hair metal.

Ever notice that all the strip club DJs sound the same?

Anyways, if you're looking for that then any song with the word "ass" in the title works well...

my old girlfriend & i used to make out wildly to dido all the time.  that whole album's sound is perfect for fleshy contact.

and i've never put this into practice, but i've always thought that hendrix's '1983' would be a great song to screw to, because of the changes & building of tempo and dynamics.

and people who want to have sex when they hear 'closer' scare me.  the texture of it is more like dirt and sandpaper than like human skin.  that whole song is way too disturbing for coitus unless you want to have depressing, self-wounding sex.  it's not a song about sex, it's a song about self-loathing disguised as a song about sex.

Hee-hee... that reminds me of an episode of King of the Hill.  Boomhower (sp?) used when he did it with his girlfriend... funny stuff.

Listen to Redman/Method man and Dre how do they get your girl in fucking mode? I couldn't listen to rap or rock when im trying to get my freak on. R&B works the best when it comes to love making aka fucking. Like I said before old school R&B is the best thou.

You know that song "Son of a Preacher Man?" When those horns hit, I find myself thrusting with greater passion, and a big grin spills across my face....

What were we talking about?

Portishead, Depeche Mode, Placebo (their more mellow stuff), and oddly enough Stone Temple Pilots (especially the album "Purple")... Yeah, I'm a freak. I know. ;p

As for individual songs: for flat-out, down-and-dirty, donkeypunch type fucking, Kyuss' "Gloria Lewis" is great. For sweet lovemaking, I'll say Super Furry Animals' "Juxtaposed With U" is superb.

death metal is good for hard and agressive fucking, and trance is good if the fucking is more sensual...

industrial is good for any situation, most anything by Throbbing Gristle or Mindless Faith

Usually the girl is all ready in fucking mode when I switch up the cd's.  If it's loud and the bass is kicking then it is easy to have sex to.

R&B is what I usually listen to, as well. Anything by these guys is great and I used many of their songs to set the mood:

Isley Brothers

Jesse Powell

Boyz II Men(especially the II album)

Al Green

Atlantic Starr

Keith Sweat

Gerald Levert

LSG

Johnny Gill

New Edition

Jodeci

Tyrese

old school Immature

Barry White

Brian McKnight

I think about 1/4th of Garbage's repertoire is pretty good for this (e.g., "Queer", "Push It", "#1 Crush", and even "Hammering In My Head").

I'm ashamed, but it just kinda fell into place that I ended up having sex to "Kid A." I apologized to my Radiohead poster afterward.

A song that just has that grooving, pumping feel to it is "Paid" by Kid Rock.

Bob Marley Dreams of Freedom, it's ambient dub remixes by Bill Laswell. Very good for this purpose.

Anything by Acetone, Mazzy Star, or Masada.
