Metal prediction for 5/29/02

Recommended Posts

Guest WrestlingDeacon

Singles Match - Send to Longdogger_Pete

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

- This should be a really hot opener. I still look forward to working a match with Francis in the future. I'll take Mak on just having a hair bit more experience.

Singles Match - Send to Thoth

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

- I don't really know the Tupper character, but a returning superstar has to win their comeback match, right? Tupper.

Tag Match - Send to Grand Slam

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

- I really don't see how Cutthroat and Kojack can co-exist. Z has shown that he is back in prime form and Ced is chomping at the bit to stick it to the cock lovers (that doesn't sound right at all). XF9

Singles Match - Send to TheBostonStrangler

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

-Williams should still be reeling from the broken ankle and I know both men will have him sell it like a champ. I want Danny to stick around, so I want him to win here.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match - Send to Edwin MacPhisto

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

1st Fall: Exploding Board Match - C4 boards are all over the arena. You make one go off, you lose the fall.

2nd Fall: German Strap Match - I have no idea what it is, but the guys do.

3rd Fall: No Disqualifications - Anything goes.

-I don't see how this cannot rock the universe and I'm guessing this will be a joint effort. I like TNT in the first fall, Tod in the second (it is a German strap match) and deKindes to squeak out a win in the end. The face has to go over in the blow off, but then again what is tradition these days.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match - Send to SuicideKing

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

1st Fall: European Title

2nd Fall: World Title

-My jaw hit the floor when I saw this booking. My fondest wish is that everyone pursues the world and lets Frost keep the Euro since he already has the title. But don't think I won't have a trick or two up my sleeve (and no they will not center around the debut of the Memphis Eel).

Singles Match - Send to Longdogger_Pete

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

-> Two quite impressive newcomers, should be a nice little match. Mak has a bit of an experience advantage over Imact, so i'll go with him, though both men can win this.

Singles Match - Send to Thoth

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

-> NBK's back, yay. Should be nice. Poisyn been's going on strong though, and i think he can just win here. An NBK win wouldn't surprise me though.

Tag Match - Send to Grand Slam

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

- Hmmm, tagarific. Cutthroat/Kojack should be a good team, but you can't go past the Z and Ced connection.

Singles Match - Send to TheBostonStrangler

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

-> Two very good writers, should be quite good. MVS is very good, but he's been gone for a while and may have some rust, so i think Deathwish can win here. But Deathwish is good enough to win whether MVS is rusty or not if he writes his best.

-> Double main events rule. This should be a super contest, thier feud have been brilliant, and a brilliant match should result. Both men will no doubt write their all, but i think Tod deKindes can sneak out the win here by the slimmest of margins.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match - Send to SuicideKing

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

1st Fall: European Title

2nd Fall: World Title

-> Should be bloody brilliant. Anyone can win, but i'll go with Frost to win the World Title in a great match, and give the Euro title to IL.

Predictions, because much like Frost, I was awake. ...when I think about it, do I ever even sleep? Hmm...

Singles Match - Send to Longdogger_Pete

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

Interrresting... Impact had a solid debut, but Francis has steadily been working his way up the card. Alas, I say poor Impact gets whuped here, as Mak warms up for the Jobbers Television Title. Should be closer than maybe the match particapants think, though.

WINNER:Mak Francis

Singles Match - Send to Thoth

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

Hey, Payne is back! Unfortunetally, I'm not as familiar with him as I should be. Anyway, I know he's been gone for a while, and should need to shake off some rust. Of course, Poisyn is *fanatically* underrated, so I'd expect him to take full advantage...

WINNER:Poisyn

Tag Match - Send to Grand Slam

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

Back in prime form? DAMN STRAIGHT! Although how one falls out, and gets back into, prime form in three weeks is beyond me, but WHOO YEAH~! for accomplishing it anyway. How good this match is depends on how much time Ced can make for it, I'd say. If he can put aside a few hours a day for us to plan out the match, we shouldn't have a problem. If he can't, then...

No Prediction

Singles Match - Send to TheBostonStrangler

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

I second Frost. I'd like to see Danny get his confidence back with a win here, so he can stick around a while longer. That said, MVS is probably hyped about his return, and wants to get off on the right foot. As with Frost, I think it will come down to who writes the better selling of Danny's injury, and who can concoct a better finish...

WINNER:Danny Williams

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match - Send to Edwin MacPhisto

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

1st Fall: Exploding Board Match - C4 boards are all over the arena. You make one go off, you lose the fall.

2nd Fall: German Strap Match - I have no idea what it is, but the guys do.

3rd Fall: No Disqualifications - Anything goes.

This will be brutal. This will be fantastic. This will rock my world, and the worlds of several universes away down the multiverse. It will, however, NOT be a joint effort, because if it IS, Z will have to go to the HOUSES of the PURPITRATIORS, and BEAT the PISS out of them for ruining the blowoff of one of the best feuds in the SJL. Ever. Now, In all seriousness, I would like to see both men write instead of a joint effort, as that kinda' cheapens the feel of it all. Anyway, that said, it would seem easy to pick Tod to go over, but you never know with these two. I shall refrian from predicting, lest I look stupid because of it...

No Prediction

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match - Send to SuicideKing

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

1st Fall: European Title

2nd Fall: World Title

Hmm... exccelent. Most exccelent. This main event should be quite interesting, as all three of these writers are very good. The easy thing to say might be that the guys going in with titles will leave with titles... but I'm not too sure. I think that the wild card here is IL, who is writing in the biggest match of his life. I'll be the first to say that I'm pulling for him, and that he will end up walking away with at least *one* of the titles. It's impossible to say as to who will walk away with what title, but...

WINNER:IL's match. He upsets everyone and wins... something.

And that's a wrap!

Singles Match

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

I saw his match and I'm defintely impressed. Everyone's pickin' me to win but it'll be real close. As always I won't predict my match but good luck Impact.

P.S. Did I tell you that I can kick out of your finisher yet ;)

Singles Match

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

Never seen Josh Tupper and I know he a returning vet so it'll be a good match.

No prediction

Tag Match

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

I mark for the C & Z connection

Singles Match

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

I agree with Frosty and the whole selling of the injury. Anyways I always like to pick Danny cause when he writes wrestling matches they're just that wrestling matches.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

1st Fall: Exploding Board Match - C4 boards are all over the arena. You make one go off, you lose the fall.

2nd Fall: German Strap Match - I have no idea what it is, but the guys do.

3rd Fall: No Disqualifications - Anything goes.

Todski gets the "W" because faces always win blow offs unless they both want to build TNT up as a monster heel

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

1st Fall: European Title

2nd Fall: World Title

I wonder if Ketchum's getting bumped. This isn't OVW and you guys don't have to job the title after you leave but I have much respect for you doing it. Damnit, if IL didn't whoop my ass I could been in this match and subsequently auto-jobbed because I'm nowhere near their level.

No idea who wins what

May I say that this has to be one best cards ever... and yes maybe me being in the main event helps.

Singles Match

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

~Awesome opener, I'd have to go with Mak... he has talent, so does Impact but Franchise.

Singles Match

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

~Destruction Pride.

Tag Match

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

~XF9.

Singles Match

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

~Hmmm... whoever sells the broken ankle the most will probably make it the deciding factor, so in other words it'll be very close.

~Flip a coin.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

1st Fall: European Title

2nd Fall: World Title

~Just holy shit... everyone will write their hardest and I think I'll go my 100% full out, I've gone this far but yeah... good luck to all. (Yet how many times have I said that I'll write my ass off and not)? No prediction, if I had too Frost with world and Sky with Euro. Or maybe me with Euro... not sure.

Singles Match

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

- Well, I'm going to have to go with the Geritol Advantage and say that Mak's experience will win him the match. ;)

Singles Match

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

- Tupper's coming off a lengthy retirement and therefore isn't burned out. Go him.

Tag Match

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

- Well, Kojack looks to be dead, and Cutthroat looks to be Cutthroat... and since I mark for the Z and Ced Connection ANYWAY.... :D

Singles Match

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

- Danny Williams, in what would be a GREAT *HINT HINT* collaborative effort if they do it together.

What, me know the angle? Nah.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

1st Fall: TNT, natch.

2nd Fall: Tod, natch.

3rd Fall: No prediction, natch.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

1st Fall: European Title

2nd Fall: World Title

I would say that it all depends who writes what. Let me just say that I love this type of match, and I love the people who are in it. Frost and Sydney are even as hell, and Insane Luchador really should walk away with something. I can't predict here, so... No prediction.

Singles Match

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

- Uh... Impact...?

Singles Match

"NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

- Poisyn goes over a fired-up Tupper.

Tag Match

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

- Cutthroat/Kojack.  Make big Mike some big money, man.

Singles Match

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

- Hey, I'm an underdog.  I've got nothing up my sleeve... or at least I don't say I do.  Muahaha.  No pick.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

- Lessee... TNT wins the first fall, deKindes with the next two.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador

- Uh... whoo.  I'll go with Frost to be World (as I predicted a while ago) and Sky to pick up the Euro.

Ced is chomping at the bit to stick it to the cock lovers

I'm pretty sure you meant well, Frost, but "WHAT?" Anyway, predictions:

Singles Match

"The Franchise" Mak Francis vs. Impact

- Impact

Singles Match : "NBK" Josh Tupper vs. Poisyn

- NBK's back, but I'll still go with Poisyn

Tag Match

XF9 (Z/Ced Ordonez) vs. Cutthroat/Kojack

- EDIT: I noticed Cutthroat's was using Shaved Bear's avatar in his own sig and now he isn't. Uncreative bastard, but at least he can read. No prediction for the match, but the splendiferous asskicking for CT is still guaranteed.

Singles Match

Mike Van Siclen vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

- "Deathwish" Danny Williams

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

- A true Three Stages of Hell match: An Exploding Board Match, followed by a Strap Match, and if necessary, a No-DQ match. Nothing but gratuitous violence from bell to bell, and I shed tears of joy. The two guys in the ring make it hard to predict, so I'll go with a Peter Tomarken style of prediction and go with the player on my left, that being TNT, so Tod will win the Exploding Board match, but TNT will win the German Strap match (because you NEVER win your own gimmick match) and TNT clinches it with the decisive third fall.

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 2

World/European Title Double Fall Match

Ash Ketchum © vs. Frost © vs. Sydney Sky vs. Insane Luchador.

- Unfortunately, we'll all be drained from the Holy Shit shenanigans from the last match, but this shouldn't fail to entertain either. Double Fall matches can get crazy about who winds up with belts, but I'll go with a double title retainment with Frost getting the first fall and Ash getting the second.

Singles Match - Send to TheBostonStrangler

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT PART 1

2/3 Falls Match - Send to Edwin MacPhisto

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs. Tod deKindes

very close... i'll take TNT

Hey guys--no predictions from me (the bookers, predict?  Nay!  T'would be dishonorable!), but I keep noticing something that kinda disheartens me.

A lot of people are picking Ash to retain.  What you might not realize is that he debuted at Crossfire last night and became the SWF Hardcore Champion.  Obviously this is his last JL match, and he ain't gonna be walking out with any gold unless someone pulls something silly.

Now, you don't have to read the WF shows, but I would really highly recommend it.  Way back in the day when I was in the ML, reading the WF was how I learned what worked and what didn't, and one of the ways that I improved my writing.  After all, the goal of being in the JL is to get to the WF, and seeing what it has to offer is, next to writing matches day in and day out, the best way to figure out how to get there.

Just a little advice from your resident commish-figure!

Yeah I was wondering about that too Edwin... but yeah guys it'd be nice if you read the WF shows. (Even just the results).
