Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Wrestlemania x-8 is about 4.5 weeks away. The card, at least the top matches, are about in place. We have Jericho vs HHH and Rock vs Hogan as the probable headliners. We know where Steve Austin, Taker, and the Outsiders fit it. But what about Kurt Angle? I heard that if Chris Benoit was ready by Mania, it would have been Angle vs Benoit but that is scrubbed since Benoit won't be ready by then. So, this begs the question, what is next for Kurt Angle? Maybe RVD or Kane but if they have different plans for them, Kurt is left out in the cold at the biggest show of the year.
Guest mastermind Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I saw one scenario having Angle winning on Sunday and facing a face Jericho in Toronto. Don't believe it, but it would shock the hell out of me.
Guest nwawildsidemark Report post Posted February 13, 2002 they are more interested now in hall, nash, hogan than angle. I see Hogan/Rock ,Nash or Hall vs Austin and nash or hall vs taker at mania
Guest mastermind Report post Posted February 13, 2002 You know Steph costs Trips the match on Sunday and sides with Angle against Jericho who hates Steph. Then have Trips/Austin/Rock vs. Hogan/Hall/Nash. Well, one thing for sure the wwf has a lot of options, so they have no excuse to suck.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted February 13, 2002 That would be a good swerve but, like you said, forget about it. HHH is the main event at Mania this year and that is that. I think that if they are going to turn Jericho face anytime soon though, the best time to do it is at Mania by having HHH and Steph reunite. I wouldn't count on that happening either but it is a possibility.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I guess they could have Kurt wrestle Mr. Perfect. I know they're both heels, but Angle has already fought everybody, and that's something new.
Guest What?! Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Well seeing as it's probably Rock/Austin/Flair vs nWo, I think the WWF will just quickturn the Undertaker and have him face Kurt. Sure it wouldn't make sense for Undertaker to turn again after just a few months, but has it stopped the WWF before?
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Well, if they do the six-man, most likely the WWF would book that as main event or at least the main attraction.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Not if HHH has anything to say about it. This is HIS year to Main event Mania and will make sure it goes on last and is billed as the main event. The tag match, if it happens, which it probably won't since Meltzer said Vince wants to do ROCK vs HOGAN, would be the semi or co main event but HHH vs JERICHO would be the main. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 If they do Rock/Hogan, then I guess they could have Flair/SCSA vs. Hall & Nash.

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Who knows what Wrestlemania is going to be like this year? We still have one PPV to get through before we should commenting on the Wrestlemania card.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 This WM is unpredictable unlike past PPV's where you had a good idea what matches would be on the card. There are a lot of ways the nWo & the main event could happen.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 14, 2002 This WM is unpredictable unlike past PPV's where you had a good idea what matches would be on the card. There are a lot of ways the nWo & the main event could happen. Indeed. But the scary thing is that the WWF doesn't know what the matches will be either
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 14, 2002 if they can turn booker after no way out, then he could fued with angle, otherwise they are a bit lost because there are not really any healthy faces at his level on the card. maybe rvd, but he seems to be fueding goldust, and possibly challenging for the ic at mania. Guest Big Poppa Popick Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I think the WWF knows what the matches will be, its just that theres so many options that we smarks see, we will be kept guessing at No Way Out...after that PPV, we will all complain about how predictable Wrestlemania will be.. Guest mastermind Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I also think the wwf knows what the main matches are already. The wwf doesn't promote them before hand because it can easily make the matches predictable for smarks who would figure out the storylines.
Guest JerryDrake Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Heres my prediction for the Card HHH Vs. Y2J, Undisputed Championship Hogan Vs. Rock Austin & The Big Show Vs. The Outsiders Mr. Perfect Vs. Kurt Angle The Undertaker Vs. Kane Christian/Storm Vs. Booker T/Test(Tag Team Titles) RVD Vs. Edge, Ladder Match(I.C. Title) and more now i know you would dissagree with The Big Show, but remember, Show has more history with the NWO then anyone in the federation, more then DDP, more then Flair, more then Booker. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 If they did SCSA/Big Show vs. the Outsiders. Show could be the 4th man in the nWo. Like Jerry said. He has history with the group. He's also been kicked out the most times, but he has history with them.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Remember last year when they just threw Angle/Benoit together about 2 or 3 weeks before the show, which they stole, it will probably the same thing this year. which is a shame because someone as good as Angle should have a real feud heading into Mania. I would like to see Angle vs. Perfect but we probably won't.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I say wait til at least after the 18th and then bring this topic up again. The next PPV and the Raw after are going to be HUGE!!! It's the road to WM and the wwf is damn good at hyping this event.
