What about raven?

Raven seemed generally frustrated with the treatment he received also with Commentary from Lawler and Coach who don't seem to know wrestling moves these days and or are just shilling Horribly during Matches. is this a Quit angle? and if so where will that lead too since WWE made him such Low priority these days...

even complained on how he was booked.

It's scripted while it is scripted the promo was pretty much how he feels. He'll never be as great as he was in his first Ecw run but he could be if allowed a solid upper midcard Heel.

Of course it was an angle.  A recent Ross report said that Raven was going to focus on wrestling again instead of commentary, which is where he belongs, but if they book him to lose by count-out vs. LAWLER, I hope he doesn't expect any kind of push.  WWE has buried Raven from the beginning, and his has been a 100 times worse than any alleged holding down that Jericho has suffered

It's definitely an angle.  But that doesn't mean what he said didn't reflect how he really feels.  Think of it as a work that resembles a shoot.  Like what WCW did, only not nearly as stupid.

Agreed.  It wouldn't have been aired on a taped show if it were a shoot.

I still believe that Raven is making a big mistake for leaving commentating.  The company will never push him as a wrestler the way they did for him as a commentator.

This is pretty much a carbon copy of the angle they did with Tazz about a year or so back. I remember Tazz even "quitting" at one point because Lawller had "too much power in the company" or something. It was meant to sound like a shoot, but of course just made Tazz look worse and he was steadilly burried further against Lawller. I really don't get how feuds like this are even given the light of day as they never go anyway and getting Lawller over as a wrestler is the last thing anyone needs. It doesn't do anything for Raven, and he might as well just accept his role as a comentator so he can save himself from taking anymore bumps that will just make his life harder once his career is over.

I can see Raven showing up in the front row on Raw making comments towards Lawler, hopefully making his way into the ring with "what about raven" promos.  Maybe this could be the start of the new Flock with a bunch of shooter wrestlers.

The best commentator in the WWF right now doesn't want to commentate. Sweet irony.

Oh Lord! That would be an awesome idea. Raven's Flock flies once again. What a perfect way to set it up too. After the encounter Raven had with Lawler this past week on RAW, have him heckle The King for a couple of weeks, until (enter midcarder here) comes out and attacks Lawler and they both lay a beating on The King. The next week, Raven continues to sit at ringside with (midcarder) and during a match between Buh Buh Ray Dudley and (another midcarder), after the match have (another midcarder) attack Lawler after his loss, claiming Lawler doesnt know how to call matches, and this leads to the Flock attacking Lawler once again in the middle of the ring. Raven then cuts another creepy, satanic, yet insightful promo, and challenges Lawler to a match at the King of the Ring with The New Flock by his side.

To fill in the blanks for Flock members, any of the following:

- Steven Richards

- Saturn

- Justin Credible

- Tommy Dreamer

"Hold on now, this could possible work and could very well get over. Nah, I think we'll pass" - Stephanie McMahon

Factions/stables are stupid and lame. Starting a stable is hardly the answer to getting over, and Raven hardly needs a group of hanger-oners to get over. The Flock/Nest has been re-hashed and re-hashed over and over so much that it's almost as tiresome as the nWo.

If anything, they should start creating deeper storylines for his character like with what they did in ECW. Not necessarily the same stories, but something just as deep and complex. I loved the Dreamer/Raven feud that stemmed from "when they were kids."

I think putting Raven in a more high profile situation, then a commentator, would get himself and others over more successfully then what they are doing now. His 'hanger-ons' got him more over in WCW, why not try it again. What's the worst that could happen? Honestly, they have nothing to lose.
