Guest EQ Report post Posted May 27, 2002 I bought a PS2 at launch, but seeing as how the system has been out for well over a year, I don't consider it dropping $100 at this point a loss. I did buy Gamecube and XBOX. Since these are recent releases, the price drops hurt. It's my own fault though, I'm not mad about it.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted May 27, 2002 Yep, Gamecube, about three weeks ago. Damnation.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted May 27, 2002 I haven't bought any next gen console. I never saw the point. I have a p.c. to my access, so I can just play games on that. I do, however, have plans to get a Nintendo Gamecube, but I'm waiting for the titles that I want to actually release before I buy it. Metroid Prime, Zelda, Castlevania & maybe even Wrestlemania X-8 even though I know it will be Smackdown! version 3.5. You can tell from the movies.
Guest Report post Posted May 27, 2002 Well.. I bought my Gamecube in November when it came out so it doesn't hurt that bad since it was 7 months later that the price drops.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 27, 2002 Well. Sorta, but not badly. I bought a gamecube package on EBay to replace the one that I had stolen with the money I got from the guy that stole it after I went to court. I paide $375 and got a slightly used but still working Jet Black Gamecube, 3 Official Controllers (4 Total), 6 games (SSBM,SSX,THPS3,Madden,Cel Damage and XG3, although Im reselling CD and XG3 on EBay right now for $30 bucks), 2 official Memory Cards, a Case and an RF adapter. I figured it up to be worth over $650, so I still got a good deal. Cheap Ebay Auction Plug Right Here

I'm thinking about getting one of those, especially since it's only about $100 up here in Canada. Is it worth it? I'm interested to see what Fire Pro looks/plays like... Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 27, 2002 Well the GCN only dropped $50 (which I got at launch), so that's not too bad. But I knew well enough to hold off on buying an Xbox, since it was inevitable the price drop. I got it about 3 days ago. So far so good.

I've been playing Fire Pro Advance since the summer, and I've been loving it. And I don't even own a Game Boy Advance!!! Just download the rom (make sure you get the Japanese version, but hey, you can download the U.S. version for free too) and the Visual Boy Advance game emulator, and you're set! Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 28, 2002 Quick question to anyone who owns an Xbox: Does that little display thing in the middle of the controller light up or not? Thank you.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted May 28, 2002 I don't feel bad with the PS2 price drop since I got mine about 4 months after the launch. My Playstation had just broken down and I saw a decent trade-off with my $300 for a PS2/PS1 and DVD/CD player in a single package. No regrets in that respect. As for the X-Box and GameCube, I haven't touched them yet. I'm actually thinking about getting a Game Boy Advance before either of those systems.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted May 29, 2002 Seems like you get fucked a lot Eric. Video Games, DVD's...not watching 24. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Dames
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted May 29, 2002 I have had my PS2 for 17 months now so the 100 dollars is no real concern. I was wondering how good is the X-box really? I was intereseted but if I have a PS2 and am happy with it is it worth $200 to have both?
Guest Report post Posted May 30, 2002 X-Box sucks. I guarentee you will see 10 more Halo's by the end of The X-Box's lifespan.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 30, 2002 Bah. Rumor of the Gamecube going to $129 before Christmas doesn't make it any better though..
Guest Smues Report post Posted May 31, 2002 Well I got my first PS2 at launch so you'd think so affect by the drop, but the fucker broke, So i had just bought another one in april, and i bought one for my friend for his birthday too, so i got shafted 200$. I knew they had to drop the price eventually, but damned tight lipped sony wouldn't just say when. Bastards. Oh well, the system is easily worth 300$, just woulda been nice to only pay 200. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 31, 2002 Not really... I bought my Gamecube on New Year's Day... and the price drops $50 bucks in May. I had $200 around New Year's since it was near Christmas and all, and if I wouldn't had bought my GC then I don't think I would be owning a next-gen system now even with all the price drops. Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 I honestly don't know how an intelligent person can say one of the systems "sucks". There is NO denying that there are great games out and coming out for all systems. Its fine to prefer one, but c'mon.
Guest C-Bacon Report post Posted June 4, 2002 well, i certainly didn't get fucked over. my ps2 wouldnt play certain games and dvd's properly so i sold it on ebay about a month ago. the winning bidder (who knew it was partially broken) payed $400 canadian for it. i bet he's kicking himself now!
