Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Ok, I just watched most of These Days, that most famous of M-Pro events, and I have a few questions on some of the more bizzare goings on in this tape: 1. Regarding the big, fat break after Teioh vs. Tiger Mask with a lot of footage containing Sasuke in a wheelchair - what the heck is this all about? Why does the venue of the event change after this bit? 2. Regarding Johnny Saint vs. Hoshikawa - what are the rules of this match? Who is Johnny Saint? Why is he soooo old? 3. Regarding the unlisted (at least for me) tag match after Lenny Lane vs. Wilkins Jr. - Who are the guys in this match (I know Alexander Otsaka but apart from that...)? What are the rules of this match? Is it something to do with Battlearts? 4. Regarding the two guys that come and stand in the ring at some point in the last half of the tape - Who is the REALLY thin guy with the towel? Who is the large man with the zebra costume? And if possible, why are they on the show? 5. Regarding the man in the suit with the briefcase and the fake moustache - What the heck is this guy meant to be doing the whole tape? Why is he ALWAYS there?! Thanks to anyone who can help
Guest poopsicle316 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 What's up Platypus, long time no speak... I think the match after Lane/Wilkins is Yumi Ishikawa and Otsuka vs Daisuke Ikeda & Satoshi Yoneyama but I'll have to check the tape when I get home. And I don't think the Saint match had any stips at all. As far as the bizarre stuff, can't help you. Maybe I'll remember some specifics if I rewatch the show or something. Guest MRFTW Report post Posted February 13, 2002 "Why does the venue of the event change after this bit?" Umm, do you have the comercial version of this show or a compilation with it on it? I ask because Teioh and TM4 didn't even have a singles match at the These Days show(they were both in the 5 man tag) but I do have a compilation tape that I got from goldenboytapes.com that has a Teioh vs TM4 match on it right befor showing the these days tv version of the show. "3. Regarding the unlisted (at least for me) tag match after Lenny Lane vs. Wilkins Jr. - Who are the guys in this match" The match is Yuki Ishikawa/Alexander Otsuka vs Daisuke Ikeda/Satoshi Yamamoto and yeah it's a battlarts match

Guest Jubuki Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Johnny Saint was old in the 80's when he was wrestling the likes of Rollerball Marc Rocco and such. He's carny as fuck and should be seen by one and all. The inimitable Elliott Jenrette~, he of many great custom tapes, dubbed me a copy of his Saint comp. Who cares if he's old, it just makes all the matwork that much cooler.
Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Is Elliott's VCR still broke? I got his last dubbed copy of the Destroyer comp but had no idea he had one fro Johnny Saint. Tim, who must get his hands on great, fun, fast mat work as soon as possible.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I have no idea - e-mail him and ask, I guess. It better not be broken for long, as he has dubbing to do for himself.
Guest HopeSpot Report post Posted February 14, 2002 "Regarding the two guys that come and stand in the ring at some point in the last half of the tape - Who is the REALLY thin guy with the towel?" That was the legendary Dynamite Kid, in his last match ever I beleive. If you don't know who he is than do yourself a favour and go to http://www.goldenboytapes.com/ Pick up their best of Tiger Mask comp. An incredible comp considering how old that shit is, an absolute must watch for any self respecting wrestling fan.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Thanks for the answers guys, in response I guess I do have a compilation with These Days on it, but it was the only version of it i've seen around so I didn't know. Thanks for the mini-lowdown on Saint, I thought his work was funky and strange, but decent enough. Anyone got any ideas on the weird thin guy, and the zebra dude? Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted February 14, 2002 HopeSpot, I know who dynamite kid is, but these two guys aren't in any matches, they just randomly come out, speak, then go away again. Plus, the thin guy was japanese
Guest skyhigh Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I've got the These Days copy with TMIV v Teioh match, and there is an 8 man tag before it. Its just a TV block added at the start of the tape as there are adverts through it. Just thought I'd help clear that up. Can't help with the other stuff though, sorry. Plus, the thin guy was japanese I'm no puroresu expert, the only thing I can add is that this guy did an Antonio Inoki parody ("ich, ni, san, da").
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I have the commercial master and I don't have that match, so I guess it clarifies everything.
Guest HopeSpot Report post Posted February 15, 2002 The only M-Pro that I've seen is comp tapes. But Dynamite Kid did wrestle a tag match for M-Pro. I just assumed that the one that I saw was from These Days.
