Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted May 28, 2002 -From 1983-1990: The Hottest Highlights From One of Wrestling's Longest Running Events!! -Tape schill's for the WCW Videos: Kevin Nash, nWo For Life, Goldberg, DDP, Sting, Randy savage, Best of Starrcade & Slamboree, Fall Brawl, Great American Bash, bash at the Beach, and Halloween Havoc. -Mean Gene is our host of course. This tape will only cover 1983-1990, because Ted Turner is a cheap motherfucker. As long as we see Sting Vs. Scorpion. -NWA-World Heavyweight Championship: Steel Cage Match: (1983) "Handsome" Harley Race © Vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair: Gene Kiniski is the special referee. Flair is a way over babyface for this one. Introductions are like Boxing, cause Flair is the #1 Contender for the Heavyweight Title. The nickname for this one was a Flair for the gold. Lockup goes nowhere. Flair with a headlock takeover and Race turns him over for 2. Cut, flair with a knee to the midsectionn and snapmare followed with a reverse chin lock. Cut. Race has Flair down and scores a piledriver. Man these commentators suck. Race with a elbow drop for 2. Cut. Race sends Flair face first to the cage. Race is being held by Kiniski and inadvertently helps Flair who nails Race with some punches. Bionic elbow by Flair and he is now being held back and Race clobbers him. Flair is bleeding heavily. Flair with a "Woooo!" and he sends Race into the cage, splitting him open. Snapmare by Nature Boy and a running knee drop to the forehead followed by a kick to the face. Flair now nails a piledriver for 2. Flair with the heelish chinrake and knife-edge chops put Race down for 2. Elbow Drop by Flair and he pounds away at the cut on Race's forehead. Flair with a back suplex and he locks on the figure four leglock. Cut from the breakout and Race is back in control. Race throws Flair back to the cage and chokes him with his boot while Kiniski is bothing me some more by getting in the way. Cut. Race with a headlock and he headbutts the ref. Flair with the body press on Race and that ends it at 8:09 from its original 23:46. **1/2 for what it was. -Dog Collar Match: (1983) "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine: Piper is also a over face here. Non Title Match (Valentine held US Belt I Believe). Valentine aged BAD. Both men play tug of war by their necks and who knows what coulda happened. Piper and Valentine exchange rights and go back to the tugging. Piper goes psycho and pounds Hammer with the chain and stiffs him with a roundhouse. Valentine in control now and he uses the chain and is pounding Piper's injured ear. Valentine has the chain wrapped around his eyes and ears. Piper does the same but wraps it around Hammers mouth and nose, I fear how this may get. Cut and both men are cut. Piper throws a chair at Valentine and nails him off the apron. Valentine takes the chain and blasts' Piper in the ear with it and pounds away at him. Valentine sends Piper into the ring post and his ear is bleeding BADly. Valentine continues to beat on Pipers ear. Valentine slams him and drops a elbow. Piper gets up and tugs him off the 2nd ope and pounds him weitht he chain and covers him ,hooking the legs with the chain at 3:44 from original 15:16. *1/2 for what it was. I read Valentine would continue beating up Piper after the match, which isn't shown. -NWA-United States Championship Match: Steel Cage/I Quit Match: (1985) Tully Blanchard © (w/ Baby Doll) Vs. Magnum T.A.: This was a hot feud back in 1985, and this was the blow off, as may say, to it. T.A. was way over here, I have a hard time figuring what happend to him, but I know he didn't die. If anyone cares, Magnum is from Virginia Beach, VA (my old hometown!) and Blanchard from San Antonio, TX. Lockup and Both men exchange rights on seevral occasions. Magnum wails Blanchard into the cage but Blanchard break free. Cut and Blanchard sends T.A into the cage and locks on a camel clutch. Blanchard's arm is laserated. Blanchard screasms no about giving up. Both men are split open. Blanchard with a diving forearm to T.A.s midsection puts him down. Blanchard pounds TA with the mic after he screams Hell no to giving up. These guys sound like their meing murderd! Blanchard scores a blow to the midsection to put down blanchard and pounds on him. Blanchard is screaming No for his life as T.A. kicks him. Cut and Magnum with the 10 punches of doom, but he gets nailed with an inverted atomic drop and blanchard is blasting Magnum with the mic. Magnum is screaming for his life. Blanchard wih some knees to the leg of T.A. followed by an elbow. Baby Doll tosses in a wooden chair which Tully breaks. He picks up a stake like piece and try's jamming it into Magnums face but its being blocked. Magnum with some knees to the ribcage and he grabs it and shoves it right into Tullys forehead, and he is bleeding buckte;s now and is forced to scream I Quit and the bell sounds at 5:36 from its original 14:22. Just a sick brawl for the most part and *** for what it was. -NWA-World Heavyweight Championship Match: Steel Cage Match: (1987) "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin © Vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair: Flair is a toss up between heel & face by now, as The Horsemen days are about to arrive. Garvin sucks, period. Flair with a clean break and long "wooo!". Both men exchange knife-edge chops and slaps to good reactions. Basically the whole begging of this match is trading chops & slaps while I realize i am bleeding buckets from my leg, AAAAAAAH! Garvin with a irish whip to the buckle and back body drop and Flair begs him off. Garvin with an armbar and he works a hmmerlock. Cut and now Garvin slaps Flair in the face, so in retaliation, Flair chops him to hell before being blitzkrieged by a punch. Flair with the atomic drop to the knee and the figure four leg lock to a huge ovation. Why isn't Garvin attacking like a dumbass in this move like he did at Royal Rumble 1990? Cut and Flair is irish whipped into the steel cage several times and he is bleeding I believe. Well, now his face is being rakd into the cage so he is now anyway. Cut and both men are standing on the top rope as Garvin slams Flair's head into the cage's top post. Garvin is raping Flair!!!! Oh wait, he just pulled him up from a squat position. Garvin with the hard punches of doom and slaps to the chest. Flair fights back and nails a bionic elbow. clip and Flair gets hung in the ropes. Garvin on the 2nd rope and he goes for the sunset flip which is blocked for 2 thanks to some rope assitance, and reverses it for 2 himself. 10 Punches of doom is blocked.flair gets knocked out for 2. Flair up and he slams Garvins face into the steel for 3 at 6:02 from a clipped 17:00+. Crap, even for Flair. *. -NWA-World Heavyweight Championship Match: (1988) "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © (w/ James J. Dillion) Vs. "Total Package" Lex Luger: Horsemen Days brutha! Watching this tape makes me wanna play World Champion Wrestling for NES. Flair gets a decent reaction. Flair witha side headlock and woo to start. Flair poses abit and chops on Luger. Luger with an Irish whip and Flair is clotheslined over and out. Flair with a series of chops and knocks Luger down witha shoulderlbock but gets Powerslammed and Gorilla Press Slammed. Can you believe Luger did a LEAP FROG?! Luger pounds on Flair and whips him to the buckle. Cut and Flair with a eye rake. Cut again and Flair gets clotheslined for 2. Was Luger in the Horsemen yet? Luger with a suplex on Flair on the outside and Stall Suplex gets 2. I think I hear J.R. Elbow drop by Luger misses. Cut and Luger with the 10 punches of doom. Running Clothesline by Luger gets another 2 count. Powerslam off an Irish whip and Luger calls for the torture rack. He gets Flair in the Torture Rack but his leg gives out and Flair falls on top for 3 at 4:06 from it original 30:00+. ** for what its worth since it was only 4:00. -Mean Gene comments about Sting's rise in the WCW. -NWA-Tag Team Championship Match: (1988) The Road Warriors © (w/ Precious Paul Ellering) Vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes & Sting: Brawl starts and Sting & Rhodes take advantage and dropkick the RW to the floor. Sting is from Venice Beach, CA and Rhodes Austin, TX. Road Warrior's are obviously from Chicago, IL. RW's are called Legion of Doom. Animal with a cheap shot in and a shoulderblock. Sting with a dropkick and armbar and he ttags the Dream who does a funky dance and bionic elbow. Sting with the tag and he unloads on animal. Bulldog scores and he nails a dropkick to the back followed by the Stinger Splash!!!! Scorpion Death Lock!!!!!! Hak breaks it up and Rhodes comes in. Sting is sent to the floor and the RWarriors double team Dusty. Low blow by Dusty on Animal and Sting with a cross body gets 2 but Ellering breaks the count and the bell sounds at 4:43. Sting fights with hawk and nails an enziguri while Rhodes attacks ellering. Rhodes & Sting win via DQ. *** even though it was short, yet it was mostly Sting, so can't go wrong there. -None-Title: Iron Man Tournament Finals: (1989) Sting Vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair: Sting's theme so ruled for 1989. Both men are wrestling their 4th match I believe. Flair is in pink tonight. The Black Scorpion (w/ 4 messengers at ringside): WOOOOOOO! Scorpion's entrance is well, Bizarre to say the least.
