Match Preview - Cage of Death Match

Shortly before CZW star Joker left to serve overseas, he had one request. To test himself against Zandig, man-to-man. He was given that opportunity, and left a confident man, fully aware of his abilities. The fans, upon viewing the bout at the CZW Arena, applauded the efforts of both men, and cheered for Joker's safe return.

Little did Joker know that, like it or not, he'd find himself apart of a heartless and selfish plan, and find himself at CZW's Cage of Death 7.

It all began one year ago, at CZW Cage of Death 6. Justice Pain & Nick Gage fooled the company, the fans, and their respective tag team partners - The Wifebeater and Nate Hatred. By injuring their foes, Pain & Gage were finally able to unite together in Combat Zone Wrestling, brother & brother by each other's side. Wifebeater & Hatred were brutally injured and thought to never be seen again. And more importantly to the new H8 Club, now flanked by the devious "Dew", Dewey Donovan, there wasn't a team in the world that could stop them.

At Gen Z, the team debuted, running over El Generico & Beef Wellington. They begged for competition. CZW Officials listened, and at Only the Strong, the Hate Club faced off against "Spyder" Nate Webb & the late Chri$ Ca$h, defeating the World Tag Team Champions to win the titles. Still, the H8 Club begged for competition. Pain even called out CZW Legend "Sick" Nick Mondo. They wanted ANYONE, besides the "comedy show" in the locker room to face them.

In came a sadistic Hardcore team in the form of Madman Pondo & 2 Tuff Tony. And again, another team fell. But at least they could walk. Others would not be so lucky, including Jon Dahmer & Adam Flash. The champions threatened that the injuries would continue until a team worthy of being in the ring with them came to CZW.

With Dahmer injured, his usual partner, DJ Hyde, brought in the "Insanity". On CZW XPosed, "Mr. Insanity" Toby Klein was enraged at the H8 Club's attempt to set the equally insane Necro Butcher on fire earlier in the year. While his team with Hyde was unable to defeat the champions, the fans began to eagerly anticipate the potential matchup between Necro/Klein and The H8 Club. At CZW's "Violent By Design", no one could have expected the bloodbath that ensued. Neco & Klein took the champions to the limit. Bodies were rammed head-first into steel gates. Justice Pain was launched off the balcony in the CZW Arena onto the floor. Necro overwhelmed "The Future of Hardcore" in a memorable barroom, seated fist fight. Necro called for a "rain of chairs", prompting the fans to bury Gage in a sea of metallic, brown weapons. Hell, the Butcher continued to execute top-rope maneuevers INTO the chairs! But still, the H8 Club persevered. Pain was able to secure a victory, and the champions were barely able to escape with the titles. But I think the "Tough Crazy Bastards", as they'd be named, got the champions attention.

A month later, at High Stakes 3, an insane "Fans Bring the Weapons" match would see the "Tough Crazy Bastards", with an assist from the returning Nate Hatred, finally unseat Pain & Gage as the NEW CZW World Tag Team Champions! Pain's victory the month before came with a price, as the "Ultraviolent All-Star" was pummeled into a piece of guardrail wedged horizontally between the ring and the fans. Hatred, returning to CZW to the fans surprise, launched Pain clear over the top rope and into a table at ringside! "Tough Crazy Bastards" celebrated, as CZW's traditional "Tournament of Death" lingered closer at the end of the month.

At TOD, three finalists emerged, in the form of The Necro Butcher, "The Future of Hardcore" Nick Gage, and the "Boss" himself, Zandig. However, Zandig's road there was difficult, as he faced The Blackout in the first round in a handicap match. With Ruckus coming to the ring to asisst Eddie Kingston & Robby Mireno, 3-on-1 odds were seemingly too great to overcome. Zandig revealed his trump card, the returning JOKER! In one of CZW's best matches of the year, Zandig advanced after Joker & he were able to defeat Blackout. Just as Zandig had been there at Joker's request, to wrestle a deathmatch before Joker's service in Iraq began, Joker backed his ally up, helping him even the odds.

The finals saw The Necro Butcher emerge as TOD Champion, but not before Nick Gage was engulfed in flames, a sight the CZW fans will never forget. Following the bout, Zandig seemed to respect the Necro Butcher. So much, that he promised to team with the TOD Champion in August to battle The H8 Club in a Barbed Wire Ropes match.

Come August, at Deja Vu, Justice Pain announced that Gage's burns left him unable to compete. Pain would then be attacked by Nate Hatred, including a "receipt" for Hatred's broken neck where Pain was piledrove off the ring apron through a table! With the H8 Club out of comission, The Necro Butcher was challenged to a match by J.C. Bailey, as Zandig looked on. It's on! Odd...no H8 Club in the barbed wire, and now no Zandig. It seemed Zandig wouldn't be getting the Butcher's back, after all. And J.C. Bailey, who later seemed to serve Zandig's needs as an "ultraviolent guinea pig", would be torn to shreds inside the ring with the Butcher. Bailey's substitution came with a reward, as he won the Ultraviolent Underground title following interference from...Nick Gage?!? Gage was joined by Justice Pain in pummeling Necro, until ZANDIG himself made the save! Zandig stayed true to his word, coming to Necro's aid. Or did he? Was Zandig out there to necessarily save Necro, or to quench his thirst for the ultraviolent style that he founded, and get into a bloody, barbed-wire-styled brawl with Gage & Pain, who also started in the company with him. In the end, The H8 Club stood victorious, as Zandig and Necro were left a bloody mess.

A match was signed for a "Big Mother F'N Deal", where fans would bring the weapons in a hostile battle between Nate Hatred & Zandig against The H8 Club. But Zandig was suddenly unable to compete alongside Hatred. The H8 Club took on Hatred & a substitute partner, former CZW Champion The Messiah, who as fans know is one of Zandig's most hated of CZW foes from the past. The H8 Club were victorious, and their reign of terror was now back on track. Odd, wasn't it? That Zandig would set up such a main event, even hinting as past associatings with Hatred with the show title, and then just...not wrestle the H8 Club. Even more convenient, was that one of Zandig's greatest foes, The Messiah, was left to be punished and beaten down in the main event.

A confusing situation became even worse for "Tough Crazy Bastards", as they lost the CZW World Tag Team Championship in an unlikely bout against Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli. Things were definately rolling in the H8 Club's favor.

How would Zandig stick it to The H8 Club? Surely, the next month they'd be put into compromising situations to even the score, right? Well, Nick Gage received a CZW World Title match. He gave Ruckus a brutal beating, and came very close to defeating the champion. Justice Pain was put into a "Tables & Thumbtacks" match with Hatred & Toby Klein. Pain used his ringsmarts to allow Klein & Hatred to fight each other, and when the oppurtunity was there, he once again took out Hatred with a "Pain Thriller" into the tacks for the win.

With Hatred out, it became a two-on-two battle, one more time. Tough Crazy Bastards. The H8 Club. The rubber match. Finally, at "Night of Infamy", the two teams would decide who was the sickest and most devastating team in the company. Or would they? After Pain jumped on the microphone a month before following the "T & T" match, and voiced his claim to be after the CZW World Title, it seemed a bit odd that he'd see his body torn to shreds inside a mysterious "Shattered Dreams" match.

When the match came to, Pain, with taped fists covered in glass, assaulted a ringside fan. Security surrounded the former CZW Champion, and CZW Comissioner/Promoter Maven T. Bently immediately kicked Pain out of the building and indefinately suspended him. Gage was left partnerless. Who would help him? Why...who else but the man Zandig seemingly USED as his own pin cushion, J.C. Bailey? Bailey came to the ring and eventually got himself taped up for the match. And what a bout it was. An uneasy feeling surrounded the arena, with fans confused and afraid of what might happen next. Finally, Tough Crazy Bastards, in a bout that saw four pains of glass shattered, a ring surrounded by glass, and the mat covered in it...stood victorious. It was a great moment. So great, that Zandig himself finally returned to the CZW Arena, with beers in hand, to celebrate with the winners. And then clothesline both of them.

Zandig launched a beer at one of the CZW fans, showing that his respect and gratitude for them how now turned into a bitter hatred. Gage & Bailey entered the ring, aiding the "Boss" in both a physical and verbal tirade on Tough Crazy Bastards. Zandig had snapped, as he was disgusted by the fans approval of two wrestlers who were "in and out" of the company. The boss cared not for personal approval, disputes, or match results. All he cared about was bringing back the ultraviolent style that made CZW what it is today. He ran down the locker room. He berated the fans for being ungrateful. And then he found J.C. Bailey's usefulness up, throwing him out of the ring, as well. With no allies left, Zandig had seemingly done the unthinkable, alligning out of respect with the three men who had been there with him since the beginning - manager "Discount" Dewey Donovan, "The Future of Hardcore" Nick Gage, and...

Justice Pain? Pain entered the ring, celebrating with the group. But hadn't he just been suspended? Zandig addressed this, thanking his own personal "plant" who gave the "Ultraviolent All-Star" a break. After all, Zandig questioned, "Do you think I'd really let him come out here and tear his body up in THIS?" The fans stood in disbelief. In Zandig's attempt to "bring back Ultraviolence", he seemingly turned on CZW's most popular duo - Tough Crazy Bastards, and publicly shit on the fans who loved him.

One man had enough. Joker returned to CZW, and was able to rid the ring of Zandig's new superpower team. He promised to gain revenge on Zandig at Cage of Death 7, as Joker & Tough Crazy Bastards would battle Zandig & The H8 Club in the cage. How dare Zandig betray the trust of all the fans, of the TOD Champion. It's as if Zandig was saying that unless he, Pain, & Gage were involved, the Ultraviolent Style just wasn't there. Joker had gained tremendous fan support. His courage overseas was seen as an inspiration, both by the CZW fans and the locker room. When Zandig needed HIM, he was there for the boss. Now that Zandig was in a position to be back on top, the owner spit on every fan, every locker room star, and anyone except the H8 Club, in a selfish act to inflate their own egos. Zandig's thirst for blood and ultraviolence obviously means more to him than personal friendships and respect. At Cage of Death, we'll see just how much it means to him, when he has to answer for his actions.

This story all began with Joker battling Zandig for respect.

It continued with the two craziest tag teams in CZW, Tough Crazy Bastards and The H8 Club, tearing the house down and bringing the ultraviolence back.

The story took a twist with no clear winner between TCB and The H8 Club, and a selfish decision made by Zandig to spit on Joker, the fans, and CZW.

At Cage of Death 7...the story, and perhaps the career of one of CZW's best...will END.

Oh, and one more thing. Just WHAT is the blueprint for this year's cage?

Previous cages have seen CZW on the cover of the Philadelphia Daily News, explosions, chainsaws, career-changing matches, World and Tag Team Titles Changes, a battle for company-control, One Million Thumbtacks, turning on partners, high-flying spectacles of "can you top THIS?", the end of a career, and more shocking developments that one could list.

With The Necro Butcher, Joker, "Mr. Insanity" Toby Klein, Zandig, Justice Pain, and Nick Gage all inside the Cage of Death...you'd be a "crazy bastard" yourself to expect anything less than your wildest imagination could dream.

Match Preview - CZW World Tag Team Title Match

After gaining the respect of CZW Owner John Zandig at Tournament of Death 4, Eddie Kingston thought the next 6 months would see success, championships, and notoriety.

Instead, he has had his life made a living hell by the one man capable of ruining his year: Chris Hero.

The war between The Blackout and the CZW World Tag Team Champions has been raging in CZW since the summer...but for Eddie Kingston, it must feel like a lifetime. After all, it was Hero who was responsible for Eddie's childhood friend Blackjack Marciano being ran out of the company. The dream of two young friends to be the best team in the business was ruined by the coniving Hero, who now wants Kingston out of wrestling, as well.

The arrogant and hated championship duo of Claudio Castagnoli & Chris Hero and their now popular foes - The Blackout, all kickstarted at a special Chikara event held at the CZW Arena in August 2005. Eddie Kingston fought Chris Hero in the main event, in a match the fans were absolutely ecstatic for. The two traded blows and near-falls in a classic bout, until Hero deemed it necessary to use illegal tactics to taint an otherwise stellar bout, stealing a win in the process. Hours later, at CZW's portion of the double-header, Kingston demanded Hero come out and face him, but was denied, or ignored, by both Hero & Castagnoli. Kingston & Sabian took their frustrations out on Jon Dahmer & DJ Hyde, securing a hard-fought victory.

It seemed that Hero & Castagnoli saw The Blackout as a joke, as evident in their mockery of the "stable, not a label"'s choice of clothing, when the duo dressed up to imitate the group back in June before Hero's first encounter with Kingston. Instead of answering the challengers of the furious Blackout, Castagnoli & Hero focused their goals on the CZW World Tag Team Titles.

It didn't get any easier for Kingston. He was noticeably becoming more paranoid of Hero's involvement in his personal life. A questionable call by referee Bryce Remsberg at a Chikara event led to Kingston stalking down the official in the parking lot and almost ripping his head off. Is Remsberg in cahoots with Hero? He claimed he wasn't...but any associate of Hero isn't exactly going to be truthful.

With Kingston's mind not as ease, the duo next went after King's associates. Sabian, on an edition of CZW XPosed, was brutally attacked in the parking lot by Hero & Castagnoli, who injured his knee and caused him to miss a month of action. Not even Robby Mireno was safe, as Super Dragon, apparently brought in as a hired charge, delivered two Curb Stomps to the outspoken manager and left him with a serious neck injury that may leave Mireno never the same.

And still...Kingston pleaded...and pleaded. On CZW Commentary. On CZW XPosed. But Hero refused a match. After all, his tag team was busy in the tag ranks, upsetting the CZW World Tag Team Champions Necro Butcher & Toby Klein to win the tag team titles. Take a look at that match. Bryce Remsberg not only threatened to disqualify The Necro Butcher, but missed the assist that Hero & Castagnoli used to steal the titles. A Disqualification!?!? With The Necro Butcher?!?

Still, Kingston persevered. Sabian, himself, distraught after losing the CZW Jr. Heavyweight title without being involved in the match's decision, finally returned to action. He was a part of a huge 6-way elimination match for the title he believed was always his. Sabian tied the current champion, Derek Frazier, into a pretzel, and delivered an awesome double-stomp to his back off the top rope! The fans went wild and Sabian was on a roll! And what happened next? Hero. Castagnoli. The champions ran to the ring, distracting Sabian and allowing Heretic to enter the bout and roll-up Sabian from behind. Sabian's claim as the top Jr. Heavyweight had ended...all because of a personal vendetta against The Blackout.

Kingston's journey led him to unfamiliar grounds - going to church. There he was given the card of St. Jude, the patron saint of hopelessness. On this XPosed, Kingston pleaded, on his knees, no less, for a fight with Hero. Hero responded, flanked by Castagnoli and a new hired gun - the explosive Gran Akuma. Hero knew the bad blood between Akuma and Kingston. Akuma had knocked Kingston out of action by dropping him on his head with a second-rope Yoshi Tonic. Who better to send after The King of Diamonds? The two did battle at CZW Point of No Return, with Kingston winning and looking forward to a bout with Hero yet again.

And on commentary, Kingston PROMISED...he GUARANTEED...a bout against Hero in November.

And he got it.

A "Last Man Standing Match" that saw the two men use hard strikes and submission wrestling to wear each other down. Neither could keep the other down for the 10-count, however. With the fans behind Kingston, Hero once again took the low road, shocking the crowd by blatantly kicking Kingston in the groin 3 times to gain the victory. To say Kingston was furious after the bout would be a huge understatement. If you were in the arena, you saw how much emotion can overtake a man.

Cage of Death 7, Eddie Kingston can permanently shut Hero's mouth. Sabian's at 100%, and coming off an impressive win over Heretic. The Blackout are on a roll, with Claudio himself losing to CZW World Champion Ruckus at Night of Infamy. There will be no "dressing up like the Blackout" for the champs. There will be no XPosed hype segments. No hired guns. No hitmen. No excuses. If Kingston wants to come a step closer to regaining his sanity, he must stand tall, bring back the fire within his team, and take what Hero values most - his championship.

Hero & Castagnoli. Kingston & Sabian. The CZW World Tag Team Championship.

Cage of Death 7. The score will finally be settled.

Match Preview - CZW Iron Man Title Match

At CZW's "Best of the Best V", cocky Canadian standout "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen returned to CZW after a brief absence, and found himself tested against CZW's best in the company's annual showcase tournament.

In the first round, Steen dominated Kenny the Bastard, before taking out Chris Hero to advance to the final round. Steen, a loud and boastful champion in other organizations, looked to establish himself in the company by capturing the BOTB crown. No fan of Super Dragon, Steen accomplished one of his CZW goals immediately by eliminating Dragon from the finals. However, BOTB was not Steen's night, as he would wind up the second-runner up for the tournament championship.

The next month at CZW Violent By Design, "Mr. Wrestling" did not show his face at the CZW Arena. Was he upset at having lost at Best of the Best? Would he ever wrestle for CZW again? Surely, his ego took a big hit after not taking the tournament he so proudly bragged would be his. The following month, at CZW High Stakes, Steen was again, nowhere to be found. Fans demanded to know his whereabots, asking CZW to do their best to bring back "Mr. Wrestling" to active competition.

For CZW fans, and the THEN-undefeated CZW Iron Man Champion Franky the Mobster, they were in for a rude awakening.

Steen wasn't healing his ego. He wasn't dissapointed. And he wasn't discouraged from wrestling in CZW. In one night, Steen had gone through Kenny, Hero, and Super Dragon. Three unique wrestlers who wrestle with three decidingly different styles. Steen knew that he had the tools to go through multiple opponents, diverse styles, and hang with whatever the office could throw at him. His time away from the ring kept him training hard, and preparing for a big run upon his return. Based on his BOTB performance, he was given a CZW Iron Man Title shot at CZW Deja Vu against the undefeated champion Franky the Mobster. Like Steen, Franky came into CZW displaying his arrogance and began running down the competition. However, on this night, a CZW Championship would not allude the master of the "Package Piledriver". He drilled his finishing maneuever, and with it ended both the Ironman Champion reign and undefeated streak of Franky.

Kevin Steen - CZW Iron Man Champion. And no one's been able to wrest away the title. At CZW's A Big Mother F'N Deal, "Spyder" Nate Webb found himself dropped on his head. Webb went into the match a month after forcing his best friend out of the company. And as he found out, ANY weakness, be it physical or emotional, would be taken advantage of by "Mr. Wrestling". At CZW Point of No Return, Steen faced a familiar opponent in El Generico. The two proceeded to light up the CZW Arena in an awesome match, that saw Steen escape. Again, Generico, at some points of the bout, would play to the crowd instead of capitalizing on Steen being stunned. And once again, the Iron Man Champion took advantage of his opponent's indecision.

In November, Steen spit on the faces of the fans, by claiming he didn't need to come and compete due to the lack of competition given to him by CZW. The chants of "Mr. Wrestling!" that the fans gave Steen out of respect for his ability were ultimately meaningless to the Canadian star, as after all, he doesn't care about anything else than himself.

Perhaps Steen, during his own self-given vacation, was studying countless hours of tape and training in anticipation of his next "quality" opponent. He'd better double his training, if he has happened to pop in the DVD of CZW's Night of Infamy. There, crowd favorite Chris Sabin debuted in CZW with a bang. It's one thing to "work your way up the ladder". But Sabin decided to start his journey right at the top. There, he was able to defeat "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush in a scientific battle that had the fans all standing on their feet and applauding.

It has to bug Steen...at Best of the Best V, Quackenbush emerged as the tournament champion. Not Steen. And in his CZW debut, Chris Sabin was able to defeat Quackenbush. Not Steen.

Sabin brings an impressive list of credentials into Cage of Death 7, including an always crowd-pleasing performance on each of the national television and pay-per-view programs he competes in. A former two-time NWA X Division Champion, Sabin knows how to make an immediate splash, having captured the title quickly after debuting with the company. He's a relentless, fast-paced, hard-hitter. As evidenced in his bout with Quackenbush, Sabin can trade holds with technical marvels while at the same time deliver high-impact finishes courtesy of his "Cradle Shock" maneuever.

Would Steen be able to kick out of a "Cradle Shock" ? Could Sabin kick out of the "Package Piledriver" ? Both answers are most definately "No", so it may come down to who can wear down their opponent to the point of applying one of the holds. After all, he who can endure the most punishment and survive is the only one truly qualified to hold the title called "Ironman".

While many may question the logic in Sabin aiming so high, so quickly, think about earlier this year. Despite wrestling with CZW before (in a couple of showstealing bouts), Kevin Steen chose Best of the Best V to make his CZW splash in 2005. And he almost pulled it off, too. Did anyone expect Steen to take out Super Dragon, after Dragon had been making such a name for himself as unstoppable? Perhaps it is now Sabin's time, to come in and take out the established CZW titleholder in "Mr. Wrestling".

Chris Sabin Vs. Kevin Steen promises to be a hard-hitting affair and in my opinion could potentially be the greatest Iron Man Championship bout that the company has seen. Both men are well-versed in mat wrestling, can take to the air, and will do whatever it takes to ensure they walk out of Philadelphia on December 10th as the CZW Iron Man Champion.

Steen wanted competition. He got it. It's "put up or shut up" time, Cage of Death 7, CZW Iron Man Title.

Match Preview - CZW World Title Match

What if there was a wrestler who could fly through the air, keep the crowd on their feet, use striking maneuevers with perfection, escape any hold, and always keep both their opponent and crowd guessing? And what if, despite his own best efforts, this wrestler was just SO good that the crowd found it impossible to cheer.

Well, there's two of them. And finally, they're facing...each other.

The personal feud between Super Dragon and The Blackout will come to a head at CZW's Cage of Death 7. It will be the cornerstone of The Blackout, the CZW World Heavyweight Champion Ruckus, defending the title and seeking revenge for the injured neck his manager "Primo" Robby Mireno suffered some 3 months ago. Many have claimed it was just a matter of time before the stiff, arrogant, and emotionless Super Dragon rose to the top of CZW as a World Champion. It's obvious that the Dragon pulled out some of CZW's old DVDs, as Cage of Death has been Ruckus' achilles heel. He may be

"He who Smoketh the Mad Weedeth", be he's also 0-4 in Cage of Death competition, including losing 3 CZW championships.

Super Dragon shocked CZW fans by appearing as a personal hitman of sorts for the reigning CZW World Tag Team Champions, Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli. But WHY? Why would Dragon be so quick to allign with those two, of all people? Think back to earlier this year...

Super Dragon & Excalibur were making a big splash in the tag team division. They were granted a CZW World Tag Team Title shot against then-champions Team Cash. However, The Blackout, enraged at having lost their titles and not being granted an automatic rematch, cost Dragon & Excalibur the match and the titles. The following month, it was Eddie Kingston & Sabian who were able to sneak past Dragon & Excalibur in a tag bout, with Sabian gaining the pinfall over Dragon.

Needless to say, when Super Dragon was offered a chance at gaining revenge against The Blackout by aligning with their greatest enemies, he jumped at the chance. It seems to have paid off, as Claudio & Hero have the World Tag Team Titles, and Dragon is ready to take the World Title.

On an edition of CZW XPosed, Eddie Kingston was interviewed, and at the conclusion bumped into Super Dragon outside the arena, with a staredown ensuing. The fans became quite interested in a matchup between the two men, and CZW Promoter Maven T. Bentley was quick to sign it. Flanked by Hero & Castagnoli, Super Dragon escaped the hard-hitting match with the victory, but it was his actions afterward that not only angered the fans but made him an enemy of the CZW locker room.

Dragon took it upon himself to deliver two "Curb Stomps" to Blackout's Robby Mireno, severely injuring the outspoken manager just as he was earning major fan support. Mireno has not been the same since, often cutting bitter promo interviews against Dragon, attacking a fan in the parking lot who was dressed as the masked star for Halloween, and having to wear a neckbrace for several months.

Super Dragon seems to always amaze & impress the crowd when put into a big-match situation. In his Best of the Best 2 appearence, he made an impressive debut and was able to advance into the next round, defeating a former CZW World Champion in the process. At the 2004 edition of High Stakes, a heavily promoted double-header, Super Dragon helped steal the show in an amazing 4-way bout, with the fans' cheers of respect being chanted over and over. He'd prove, once again, that his win was no fluke, forming another impressive team with Excalibur which earned a victory at 2004's A

Night of Infamy. Cage of Death 6 was right around the corner, and once again, Dragon would prove unstoppable, in an amazing tag bout against Kevin

Steen & El Generico. On CZW's grandest stage, Dragon had done his best to prove no one's star shined brighter than his own.

But one man from Chcolate City made damn sure that 2005 would be remembered as his year. Following a loss in one of the craziest CZW bouts ever at CoD 6, Ruckus could have spent considerable time recovering and setting his sights on smaller conquests. However, being Ruckus, his goal was simple. Be the leader that he knew he could be, and put The Blackout back on top of CZW by capturing the CZW World Heavyweight Title. Could Ruckus, a high flying daredevil who had spent years competing in the Junior Heavyweight and Tag Team Division possibly end the 11-month reign of The Messiah? Fans wondered just what a potential Ruckus' reign would mean for the World Title? Fresh challengers? Show-stealing matches? New feuds? Ruckus would answer the first question in February of this year at CZW's Only the Strong, pinning Ruckus and celebrating with his Blackout brethren as the "Era of Ruckus" began.

That era continues to this day. Ruckus has been one of the most amazing CZW World Title holders of all time. His cocky demeanor has not changed, and as evident by his mockery of the CZW stars on XPosed, it's grown larger if anything. The champion has gotten into incredible shape, and his already stellar aray of trademark moves have become even more devastating and insane because of it.

Ruckus' first act as champion was to silence the demons of Cage of Death 5, as he defeated former good friend Sonjay Dutt in March. B-Boy was the next to fall, with Ruckus simply being just a little better in April. At Best of the Best 5, Ruckus found a new foe in the "Triple XXX Sex Express" Sexxxy Eddy, as the team of Ruckus & Eddie Kingston were defeated by Eddy & "Spyder" Nate Webb. Ruckus, however, once again proved his skills as a natural leader. Not only did Ruckus emerge victorious against Eddy in their steel cage showdown, but the Blackout would also eliminate B-Boy from the company, cause Nate Webb's recent mental anguish, and keep Eddy from further title shots all in one match at High Stakes!

Following CZW's Tournament of Death 4, The Blackout's popularity with the CZW fans could no longer be silenced. The unpredictable, comical, and exciting nature of Ruckus, Kingston, Sabian, and Mireno led them to hear cheers from the CZW fans. "Let's Go Blackout!" and "Let's Go Ruckus!" chants echoed in the CZW Arena as the champion turned away the challenge of El Generico, "The Future of Hardcore" Nick Gage, and Claudio Castagnoli in successive months.

Ruckus' CZW World Title reign has seem him run through EVERYONE. He's gone in there with high-fliers, hardcore brawlers, popular opponents, hated opponents, strong-style champions, and ex-partners, and in the end he's still ended every match the same way he began: smoking his blunt, hearing applause, and putting the championship back around his waist.

At CZW's Cage of Death 7, two of the most unique and dynamic stars in CZW history will go one-on-one for the World Heavyweight Title. There will be bodies twisted, stiff kicks, heads drilled into the mat, aerial displays, and most importantly, a chance for the fans to finally see who the better man is - Ruckus or Super Dragon?

The Dragon wanted the attention of The Blackout by taking out Robby Mireno, and he got it. He's sick of partners adding losses to his win-loss record, sick of managers badmouthing him, and sick of not wearing a title in CZW. Now he'll face the seemingly unbeatable champion one-on-one. One man leaves the ring as the top wrestler in the company. And one will leave knowing that he was "this close". Ruckus Vs. Super Dragon - An unbelievable showdown you MUST see at CZW's Cage of Death 7!

It's not that out there. Super Dragon curb stomped and injured Robby Mireno after a match with Eddie Kingston a few months ago. Ruckus has wanted a match ever since.

"Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney & Franky the Mobster

OH SHIT! I am going to buy the DVD on the spot if they do a joint XPosed promo together. Seriously. That would be the greatest moment in CZW history, right there and then.

Ditto. That's better than the Team Masturbation paring.

I love CZW nowadays, man.

Cage of Death 7 results so far, everything up to the COD itself. Taken from the CZWFans board:

Pre-Show Update: The rumours are true, it's an octagon cage! There are 2 scaffolds about 16 feet above the ground. Also of note: The COD7 Shirt has an octagon on the front and half looks jaggedy like barbed wire... Could that be implying something? Find out tonight. The crowd is swarming in and is huge. The merchandise tables are enormous with WWE DVDs, figures, shirts, SMV stuff, PWG stuff, stuff from various wrestlers, NOAH DVDs, TNA shirts and DVDs... They'll make a killing on merchandise tonight. Look for updates as the night goes on.

Match #1: Cheech defeated Cloudy following a Last Ride off the top rope. Cloudy hit a Canadian Destroyer on the ring apron and Cheech did a Tree Of Woe Double Stomp *on the floor*. Phenomenal match and possibly the best opening match this year.

Match #2: Mike Quackenbush, Shane Storm and Jigsaw defeated Gran Akuma, Icarus and Hallowicked when Quack hit Icarus with the Quackendriver II. Great match.

Match #3: DJ Hyde beat Jon Dahmer in a sucky match.

Match #4: Larry Sweeney and Franky The Mobster defeated Team Masturbation when Sweeney gave Excalibur with a rollup. Fucking hysterical match.

Match #5: Joey Ryan defeated El Generico while holding the ropes for leverage to retain the PWG Title. Greatly dissapointing.

Match #6: Adam Flash's partner is Sonjay Dutt. Fucking INSANE heel heat through the phone. Flash and Sonjay defeated Sexxxy Eddy and Nate Webb when Sonjay gave Eddy a Moonsault Double Stomp to the balls. He was a real good heel and made fun of a cripple.

Match #7: Derek Fraizer defeated Niles Young in 3 Falls to retain the CZW Junior Heavyweight Title in the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. Derek won Fall #1 with a Moonsault Legdrop on a chair. Niles won Fall #2 with a Top Rope Ace Crusher through a table. Derek won Fall #3 with a double stomp off the top of the scaffold onto Niles on chairs. Decent match.

Match #8: Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli defeated Sabian and Eddie Kingston to retain the CZW Tag Team Titles when Hero hit Hero's Welcome on Kingston. Afterwards, Hero challenged BRYAN DANIELSON for next month and got a babyface reaction.

Match #9: Kevin Steen defeated Chris Sabin to retain the CZW Ironman Title by reversing a Tornado DDT into the Package Piledriver. Awesome match.

Match #10: Super Dragon defeated Ruckus with the Pyscho Driver to become the NEW CZW World Heavyweight Champion.

*Details: Big octagon cage around the ring made of black and yellow. Barbed wire at the top of each side. A spidernet of barbed wire wedged between the ring and cage on one side, a pane of glass wedged on the other. Thurbuckles replaces with thumbtack turnbuckles. 2 barbed wire bats hanging from each scaffold. 4 tables inside the cage. A bag of tacks, and buckets of shit being brought out... Someone is going to DIE!*

THE CAGE OF DEATH: Team Zandig over Team Joker as Zandig gave Joker the Mother F'n Bomb from the scaffold through two flaming tables

Nice to see Cheech and Cloudy tearing it up in the opener. Why ROH had them as lackeys and used Deranged and Izzy instead of them always confused me. Cheech in particular.
