My Hard Drive is shot...

Recommended Posts

I've already got a back up in place, got a Flash drive all set, but I need a new replacement Hard Drive. But what brand should I get? I hear that Western Digital is one of the most well known, but they give you problems...

I want something reliable.

Hook me up!

I also like Seagate. Usually tend to be the cheapest, as well. Just got a 160GB one for $50.

If you have the ability to get SATA, though, get it. It's a lot faster of an interface and it's not that much more expensive. You can get a 250 gig for 90 bucks on Newegg. Or, if you're going for the most reliable/best performance, go for a Western Digital Raptor.

I've seen more Seagates fail then anything. Go with the Western Digital.

I prefer IBM's drives; they tend to have a 3-5yr warranty, nice speeds, and cache. This server use to run off two 80 GB drives in a raid. I would also recommend getting the extra PCI-SATA card for the little extra cost, you should notice a difference. PM me if you have other questions. :) Nice to see you around.
