Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted May 28, 2002 i really enjoyed Raw. I was watching with a bunch of people who aren't huge wrestling fans so they had no clue why I was going crazy when Benoit made his entrance. i think they thought i was having a siezure. bubba/brock was good. the intergender tag match was decent when the women were in. the goldust/nWo stuff was funny i seem to be the only person who didn't mind the dreamer/taker segment. i laughed my fucking ass off. mostly because of my friend's face when Tommy downed the spit. RVD/Eddie was a damn good match. there were alot of blown spots but it was the best ladder match you can hope to get on free tv.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 28, 2002 My thoughts on Raw Beniot's return was nice, but I never cared much about him and the promo he gave just futher poved that even with 8 months of Prep, he still has yet to improve his mic skills. Some say all he has to do is study Anderson, it won't help. He's got a grating voice, which is why he won't be a great face, but he's made to be a heel. All right, 6 months ago when Mr. Perfect, Godfather, Goldust returned at the Royal Rumble, who really thought that GOLDUST of all people would be the funniest comedy in WWF/E in years? Goldust is stealing nWo's limelight and Booker T's fce turn will be HUGE. Kevin Nash is finally being used right, as a mouthpiece, where he does not have any problems at. However, eventfully, He has to turn Face as well. Brock and Bubba had their career best single's matches last night and A rematch at KOTR would be nice (unless they are Tourny wrestlers) The Hardcore title is meaingless but I say this...It hurts no one...it justifies paying Stevie Richards and Bossman a contract. Undertaker/Dreamer was not that bad but not why just have an impromtu match? However, This may get Dreamer over more. No else is digging Raven's Psychologist-like commentary on Austin's mental state? I am. As for the Ladder Match... Totally loved it. Shocked when they announced it, it's rare they give a free TV Ladder match (only three times) and Knowing that someone other then Undertaker, Game, Austin, Jericho, Angle or NWO were main eventing...felt nice but not Smark nice. The match was not ***** by any means but it's still almost as good a Broken Ladder Match on Free Tv can get. Of course, being in Canada, you have to expect shoddy equipment. Eddy was very much in control of the match (although It was RVD who was controling the match in the eyes of the fans). Great audibles. The idiot canadian almost ruined the entire angle when he nearly killed Eddy, here's hoping that Bradshaw broke out the baby oil. I don't think the Ladder was a botched spot, but planned since he was too close. It was nice to see a completely clean finish here and the after-match attack beat down was great and Beniot's turn shocked none of us but it continues to fascinate me when they turn at Home. Over-all...NOTHING SUCKED, Great Raw.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 28, 2002 The only thing that pissed me off about the ladder match is that Eddie would go back to that knee but RVD failed to sell it. There must have been three or four different spots during the match where Eddie threw in a little leg work (partially based on their other matches) to slow RVD down. Other than that it was really good. Not a lot of slow climbing which works much better. There were some parts that were good on so many levels, like how both guys were a little hesitant about climbing the ladder (Eddie earlier in the match when he brought RVD back in the ring to wrestle, RVD later in hitting his spots). That played out in "the blown spot" where the ladder fell, which I think next to nobody really got. From what I remember of the RR 2001, this match was almost as good as Jericho/Benoit, like ***3/4 vs. ***-***1/2 or so.

To quote Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride, "I do not think it means what you think it means..." Do you mean adamant or hesitant? They're pretty much polar opposites. [...sees that Brian edited his post...] To quote Emily Latella from Saturday Night Live, "Nevermind."
Guest Report post Posted May 28, 2002 There is something that is missed in all this Tommy Dreamer has arrrived to WWE... Too be on Raw and do his segment and To Stand Next to a Main Eventer like the Undertaker has Confirmed Dreamer's place in the company.. getting beaten down is just part of the motion. Dreamer's gimmick like some here said will fade, as Dreamer molds into a common man's hero... We will probably see Dreamer after every match jump into the front row like he did In ECW a few times. Dreamer always had the Normal guy look to him anyway.... and in future putting him against Wrestlers in WWE past the Credibles and Bossmans etc putting him up in matches on Raw will cause people who never saw him in the ECW fame to take notice of him. I didn't mind the segment with Taker and Im glad that Dreamer did get a full segment coverage

Guest Report post Posted May 28, 2002 It's just... will the fans take him seriously if he stops doing all that gross shit? And also, what about the ladders? I've said it before (in this same post, methinks) that there needs to be some more ladders involved. If RVD hit the *****, the pop would be so huge, that the match would have gotten even BETTER. The ladders just broke when there was contact. The WWE needs to invest in some ladders that DON'T break on contact.
