Wwe in serious need...

If you look at the WWE right now, I think it's pretty clear that no one really knows what the hell the company is doing for more than a week in advance. The nWo is being "revived" but after less than a month of starting the Flair heel-turn angle to possition him as the leader, he's been completely seperated from it and Nash is claiming that right. No one knows how Booker and Goldust play into this, and as much as they probably find the two of them to be funny characters, I doubt they have any reason to care if they join a group that has never meant anything outside of WCW anyway. The nWo doesn't even look to be feuding with anyone at all, more trying to convince everyone that they mean something.

Austin has been pulled out of his feud with them entirely, so it would seem (accept for problems with Flair, but he's not with them anymore) and has moved on to Chris Benoit (who isn't even on the same show as him) and Eddy Guererro, who seems to have possibly finished his feud with RVD, who might or might not be feuding with Undertaker, who might be feuding with Hogan, who is also feuding with Vince, who was just feuding with HHH who, incidentaly, might also be feuding with Taker, but has teased a feud with Edge, who, as far as I can tell, is still feuding with Kurt Angle, who might or might not still be around by King of the Ring.

My point? They need to pick a direction and go with it. What's Jericho doing right now? Why is HHH suddenly getting knocked out by Lance Storm and Test for goodness sake? Is this gimick with Anlge going to lead anywhere? These are just a few of the questions that need answering. They can't expect the fans to be compelled by a product that is so ass-backwards and thrown-together.

I think all the undercard angles on Raw (including Austin/Eddie--if it doesn't have the world title, I call it undercard) are looking pretty good at this point.  I'm finding the nWo tremendously interesting--Booker's only gaining steam, Goldust's staying on TV but not wrestling much, and X-Pac and Show are sticking to short matches.  Having Nash back just to be a mouthpiece really helps.  Austin/Eddie is gold thus far, RVD is looking solid, Regal and Molly have something to do, Bubba/Brock and Brock actually getting ring-time is nice, Raven is becoming interesting again--they seem to have direction, or at least intention till KotR there.

I haven't been following Smackdown much, in all honesty--I enjoy Raw a lot more these days, because it feels more unpredictable--and I'll concede that the world title scene is currently a sloppy mess, and has been since HHH dropped the belt to Hogan.

But otherwise: hey Mikey, he likes it.

Relax. This is week two of 'shows that dont suck fucking ass', so let them get into the skew of things, let's give em a chance. I mean, look at 2000.... it was soooooooooo great...let them work at it.

The problem is Vince doesn't book for more than a week in advance. He is trying to create his own wrestling boom instead of trying to create more stars and hold the fort down through this down cycle. As soon as he feels something is remotely not gonna work, he cuts the legs from under it and moves on without any logical explanation. Hopefully tonight's Raw is a step in the right direction, but you better keep your fingers crossed. Raw right now has only RVD/Austin/Eddy as the only people I am remotely interested in. The nWo could have some potential, but they keep getting their balls cut off so they can't be as effective and I'll be the first to say it, Brock is boring me. I just feel in this day and age, the super unbeatable monster is not compelling anymore. Plus if and when they decide to put him up against an uppercard/main event guy, then they will cut his legs from under him. You can point to HHH, but I think just about every other veteran that has been around would do the same.(I'm talking about Taker, Austin, hell even if Rock were here)

I am relaxed. I just don't get what the product is supposed to be centered around right now. Since it doesn't seem to be Hulkamania anymore, they have to find a new one, and something that people can get interested in. While the new nWo is certainly a step up from before, it's not that compelling. They teased an elevation of both RVD, but this week he's back to facing Eddy with no continuation of the Undertaker issue, which was dropped so Undertaker could beat up Tommy Dreamer for reasons only Vince knows, I guess. I still see no direction in the product.

I could give it new direction.  I would fire a great deal of employees who "can't cut it."  Then, I would force some guys in to retirement.  I would take away the crappy belts: Euro, Hardcrap, and even Cruiserweight(Yeah, it's a good belt, but it holds the Cruisers down and will never be taken seriously).  I would just have Undisputed, IC, and tag team.  Finally, I would hire NEW wrestlers from the indies and my competition.

It's funny, because when WCW was hot-shotting I remember Vince and Co. bragging about how the almost always knew who would be main-eventing the next WrestleMania within a few weeks of the last one (barring unforseen injuries, major signings (like Ric Flair in '92), etc) ...  now it just seems like a total cluster F.

I think the direction is quite obvious.

Let your good workers and biggest fan favorites kill themselves to try and bring back ratings....

...and when it comes time to discuss the undisputed title...new blood need not apply.

I think the WWE is starting to get direction, but it takes time.  The WWE was muddled into a huge mess before, and now they are trying to sort things out, and they seem to be doing that with the midcard, but the Undisputed title race takes a bit more time.

It seems like they are unsure of what to do.  It is almost like they want to try something new like pushing RVD, but are scared it will completely bomb, so they figure to go back to what they feel works like HHH, Taker, and so on. they just have to get up the guts to take the company to uncharted waters, and hope it works.

Another problem is that they seem to be lost as to what the identity of the company is.  It is not the Attitude era led by Austin.  It is not the short-lived Desire era, which, I am guessing was to be led by Triple H, nor the "dream match" era, which seemed to start for a short while when Nostagliamania was running wild, brother.  Now, they appear to be entering the "Get the F Out" era, which would seem to be a perfect time to start a new direction for the company, to push new stars and give the company a brand new aura to it.  Unfortunately, they feel that they want to build up the new stars slowly, since RVD has been losing a lot lately, and it would seem unlikely to just all of a sudden give him the Undisputed belt out of nowhere.  Things seem to be starting to go in the right place, and hopefully that will continue.  Even though, I have a bad feeling that after King of the Ring, the WWE will panic and do something silly and be stuck in the same place.  I certainly hope not.

I think its time to reiterate my beleif that if the WWE decides that Edge is the new blood guy to win the title...it will bomb.

He's over...he's pretty good...but its just the same thing over and over again.

And he lacks whatever it is that gets people into matches from start to finish (something that few people have...Austin, Rock and RVD come to mind).
