Guest Report post Posted May 28, 2002 After watching the end of the main event I noticed something that surprisingly hasn't really been mentioned here from what I've read... Flair Arn Anderson Benoit All former Horsemen Could this possibly be the beginning of a new chapter? I've heard these rumors for a while now and in a recent interview Flair said he wouldn't mind. Sure, Arn can't wrestle because of his injury, but it would be cool if he played the role of JJ F'ing Dillon and someone else was added to the group Either way, I think RAW was a major major major leap in the right direction. Even if the storylines from now on suck, look at it this way We're probably going to Austin vs. Eddy Guerrero which I honestly think is going to be a freakin awesome match Austin vs. Benoit = Enough said and possibly in the end, Austin vs. Flair This crop of potential matches could lead to a better wrestling year for Austin than last year's amazing run
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 28, 2002 I figure we'll get Austin and Eddy Guerrero, and RVD vs Chris Benoit. And I figure that a trade between RAW and Smackdown is gonna go down noww, Benoit to RAW for someone, probably Brock Lesnar.
Guest Report post Posted May 28, 2002 Not sure. They have a stable in the nWo already, they would have to SLOWLY develop the horsemen if they ever want to do it. No rushes damnit. Or move the nWo to Smackdown, but they're just barely getting started for real, on Raw.
Guest Report post Posted May 28, 2002 Ric Flair. Arn Anderson. Chris Beniot. Eddy Guerrero. I like the sounds of that group. Horsemen perhaps? Who says ALL members of the Four Horsemen have to wrestle anyways. Just have Beniot and Guerrero do the dirty work, while Ric and Arn stir the pot from outside the ring. Flair can wrestle occasionally, but obviously not full-time like Beniot or Eddy. Either way, if they become a group of any sorts, I like it. Horsemen or not. Guest notJames Report post Posted May 28, 2002 I'm not too sold on a Horsemen reunion, or any kind of nostalgic return to the past (as I've stated numerous times -- nWo, Hogan, etc.). The Horsemen were brought together for one purpose: make sure Flair has the belt at all costs. Period. A return to the Horsemen name would be paying lip service to a notion that's dead and gone. If they play up the Horsemen as Flair henchmen (i.e. Benoit and Guerrero), they're keeping two of the best workers they have from establishing themselves as the stars that they are. They can't build Benoit as the focus because of his lack of superlative mic skills and the perception that he's a lone wolf (or wolverine). Sure you can use Flair as the mouthpiece, but again, Benoit is seen as an implement for whatever machinations Flair might have. But probably the biggest argument: the Horsemen name would no doubt get face pops the moment they flashed the fingers. And if Flair wants his little group to be heels, they better keep that under wraps for good. $0.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 28, 2002 The Horsemen are in the past. I wish everyone would stop trying to remake them. Live in the present, damnit.
Guest Report post Posted May 28, 2002 I've said it before and I'll say it again, stables are no way to get guys over. Granted, it would be cool to see some sort of alliance between four guys who take orders from Flair. But an alliance is all that it should be. No group name. Nothing like that. Kind of like what Edge, Christian, Kurt & Rhyno were some time ago. THAT was a cool alliance and they still weren't a stable. They were just four guys who were relatively on the same side. If anything, I'd like to see this alliance formed between Benoit, Guerrero, Lesnar & a fourth person. Possibly Rhyno or Dean Malenko (I WISH HE WOULD COME BACK!!). When it all comes down to it, I really think the era of the "faction" or "stable" is over and done with. We all see how it's bombing with the nWo. The Flock and the Horsemen have been rehased just as many times. Times change.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted May 28, 2002 I thought we were going to see a Horseman reunion last night too. When Flair and Anderson were heading towards the ring during the main event I thought something big was up but maybe they are waiting till next week to debut the new faction. Here is the way I would like to see it: Ric Flair (leader/occasional wrestler) Arn Anderon (troublemaker) Eddie Guerrero (wrestler) Chris Benoit (WRESTLER!!) Guest Brian Report post Posted May 28, 2002 Radicalz as the new horsemen. Or throw in Raven in Malenko's place. Oh I could learn to love that. Than with Flair/Arn as managers.
