Pretty much any musician could play drums because they've already learned the rhythms. Adam Sandler played drums in Airheads(the actors actually did the performances) and he usually just does some guitar and singing on his albums. Granted, they could play the fundamentals, But like other instruments if you get a personalised sound and add to the band's sound, that makes you a stand out musician. All the drummers mentioned do that. Plus most are extremely skilled. And i thought of another, Terry Bozzio who used to play for Frank Zappa. I went to a drum expo thing he was playing and he blew me away. Same with chad smith.
Guest pochorenella Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 I always thought that Tommy Lee could play any type of music he wanted, not just Rock. I have to mention the late great Eric Carr, who was very underrated IMO. And add another vote to Neil Peart and Matt Cameron as well. BTW, for those Ringo Starr fans: didn't Paul play on many of those Beatles songs? I'm not sure if that's true or just a roumor.
