Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted May 28, 2002 No, I'm not talking about Scott Hall. But what are some games that let you be the bad guy. I mean there's the GTA series, but anything else out there?
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 28, 2002 Well, isn't Knuckles considered to be the bad guy in "Sonic & Knuckles"? You can play as him.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted May 28, 2002 Most RTS games (Command & Conquer, Starcraft, etc.) allow you to play as the villains. There is a mode in Perfect Dark where you can play as the villains, where your job is to kill the heroine. In the original Jedi Knight (Dark Forces II), your character can turn to the dark side. Most of these games are older ones, as games in which you play as the bad guy are quite rare (other than strategy games).
Guest Negative Five Stars Report post Posted May 28, 2002 How about Sonic Adventure 2? You can play as the "hero" side (Sonic/Tails/Knuckles) or the "dark" side (Shadow/Eggman/Rouge).

Guest areacode212 Report post Posted May 29, 2002 Well, in RPGs such as Fallout & Planescape Torment (which are $9.99 each at Best Buy, and they come bundled with other games), you can do evil things (such as, say, shoot kids with your plasma gun or whatever), and the game will change accordingly. As Kahran said, Jedi Knight has two different endings. One if you chose the "light side" path, and the other, much cooler "dark side" path, where... ** SPOILER SPACE FOR A 5-YEAR-OLD GAME'S ENDING ** ...not only do you become the new Emperor, you get the hot evil blonde Jedi chick Sariss. Good deal, huh? In Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, you can do evil things such as nuke enemy cities, conduct biological terrorism, genetic warfare. You'll get economic sanctions against you, but if you do it during sunspot activity (when communications are disrupted), nobody will know, and you can act angelic afterwards
Guest Sakura Report post Posted May 29, 2002 Fighting games is where it's at for this. Heihachi Mishima in Tekken, Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat, M. Bison in Street Fighter, Lau Chan in Virtua Fighter, Nightmare in Soul Calibur, Fulgore in Killer Instinct, Ayane in Dead or Alive...
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted May 29, 2002 I seem to remember an old Atari version way back when of Texas Chainsaw Massacre in which you played Leatherface (or at least a little monochromatic blob that represented him). As I recall, that was the first time parents or anyone complained about violence in video games, and how it might effect kids.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted May 29, 2002 That reminds me of the game Postal, where the point was to kill as many people (and other psychotic, serial-killer-type stuff) while avoiding police.
Guest Report post Posted May 29, 2002 Fighting games is where it's at for this. Heihachi Mishima in Tekken, Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat, M. Bison in Street Fighter, Lau Chan in Virtua Fighter, Nightmare in Soul Calibur, Fulgore in Killer Instinct, Ayane in Dead or Alive... Ah, you beat me to that one. How about Rampage? You get to be a giant lizard or ape (and sometimes werewolf, if you were playing the arcade version) who destroys sky scrapers and eats as many humans as possible! I loved that game. Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted May 29, 2002 Might i add in a way, you can play the bad guy in GTA 3. I mean come on, how many games allow you to beat up people with a variety of weapons, blow up cars, and kill the police in one game?

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted May 30, 2002 I always enjoyed Tie Fighter because you got to be an Imperial pilot and join like a secret order and shit. Too bad it doesn't run on my new computer anymore goddamnit. I had X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter...and let me tell you loads of fun result when you use the TIE Advanced, and then proceed to fly circles around EVERYTHING (including the A-Wing) and pick off Rebel starfighters like nobody's business. I can't get the game to run on my comp either and can't get the joystick software to work either...damn that was one of my favorite games - and gets better with the Balance of Power add on and the addition of the B-Wing.
