I'm teaming up with Risk to rebook the WWF from the year 1988 to the present.  Right now we're only doing the Pay-Per-Views and other special events.  When we finally get to 1995 we will then add Raw and other shows to our booking.  Our first post will be one that we've already posted before, but with a few minor changes.  We will then post another year within the next few days.  Our first post will be up soon.

This is basically the same thing that we posted before, except we did make a few minor changes.  We're interested in feedback.  So please let us know what you think of our ideas and how we're doing.

 

ROYAL RUMBLE - JANUARY 24, 1988

- The Hart Foundation defeated WWF World tag team champions Rick Martel & Tito Santana to regain the title at 13:43 when Bret pinned Santana. ***

- Ted DiBiase is interviewed. He says that he will win the WWF World heavyweight title tonight.

- Rick Rude defeated Paul Orndorff after nailing Orndorff with a ?Rude Awakening? at 11:22. **½

- Hulk Hogan in interviewed about his title defense against Ted DiBiase.

- Ted DiBiase defeated WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan by count out after Andre the Giant distracted Hogan at16:51. ***

- Randy Savage won a 20-man Royal Rumble match, last eliminating The Honky Tonk Man at 38:03. **¾ Other participants included: Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Andre the Giant, One Man Gang, Bam Bam Bigelow, Demolition Ax, Demolition Smash, Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Tito Santana, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race, Don Muraco, Dino Bravo, Bad News Brown, Davey Boy Smith, The Dynamite Kid, Hercules, The Warrior & The Honky Tonk Man.

- Andre the Giant challenged Hulk Hogan to a World title match.

- Hulk Hogan quickly accepts the match.

 

THE MAIN EVENT - FEBRUARY 5, 1988

- Randy Savage defeated WWF Intercontinental champion The Honky Tonk Man to win the title after a flying elbow drop from the top rope at 10:39. **½

- Hulk Hogan says that he will defeat Andre the Giant one more time tonight.

- Andre the Giant defeated WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title at 14:27. *½ Hogan did lift his shoulders from the attempted pin by Andre, however, the referee continued to count the 1-2-3. After the match, Andre the Giant awarded the title to Ted DiBiase.

- It was revealed that Ted DiBiase had paid off the referee for the Hogan-Andre match.

- WWF World tag team champions The Hart Foundation defeated The Rougeau Brothers at 13:42. ***

 

- The following weekend on WWF Superstars, WWF President Jack Tunney declared the that WWF title can not be handed from one wrestler to another. He stated that it must be won in the ring. Therefore, he declared the WWF World title vacant. He then stated that there would be a 1 night tournament taking place at WrestleMania IV to determine a new WWF World Champion.

 

SATURDAY NIGHT?S MAIN EVENT - MARCH 7, 1988

- The show opened up with a highlight video of the Hulk Hogan-Andre the Giant situation from The Main Event, and then Jack Tunney declaring the title vacant.

- WWF Intercontinental champion Randy Savage defeated Rick Rude by disqualification after The Honky Tonk Man interfered at 12:58. **¾

- It is announced that Randy Savage will be facing The Honky Tonk Man in a Steel Cage match at WrestleMania.

- Demolition defeated Tito Santana & Rick Martel at 8:23. *¾

- Ted DiBiase defeated Ricky Steamboat with a sleeper hold at 10:33. ***

- Hulk Hogan is interviewed. He states that he will defeat One Man Gang tonight, and then he will regain the WWF World heavyweight title at WrestleMania.

- Hulk Hogan defeated One Man Gang at 7:12. *½ After the match, Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant come out and attack Hogan. Several minutes later, Randy Savage comes out to make the save.

 

WRESTLEMANIA IV - MARCH 27, 1988

- WWF World title tournament: Ted DiBiase defeated Don Muraco at 9:38. *¾.

- Ricky Steamboat defeated Rick Rude with a reverse rollup at 11:41. ***

- Andre the Giant defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan at 6:22. ½*

- Hulk Hogan defeated Harley Race after a ?Leg Drop? at 10:03. **½

- The Rougeau Brothers defeated WWF World tag team champions The Hart Foundation in a ?2/3 Falls? match to win the titles at 19:38. ****

- The Warrior defeated Hercules at 8:26. *¾

- WWF World heavyweight title Semi-Finals: Ted DiBiase defeated Ricky Steamboat with a small-package at 15:56 to advance to the finals. ***

- Hulk Hogan defeated Andre the Giant by disqualification at 10:17 when DiBiase attacked Hogan with a chair to advance to the finals. *

- Jake Roberts won a 20-man Battle Royal, last eliminating Bad News Brown at 12:22. **

- WWF Intercontinental champion Randy Savage defeated The Honky Tonk Man in a ?Steel Cage? match at 17:52. ***½  

- The British Bulldogs defeated The Islanders at 9:36. *¾

- Hulk Hogan states that he will walk out of WrestleMania with the WWF World heavyweight title.

- WWF World heavyweight title Finals: Ted DiBiase defeated Hulk Hogan to win the vacant WWF World heavyweight Championship at 16:29. **¾

- The Islanders defeated The Killer Bees at 8:25. *

The Honky Tonk Man regained the WWF Intercontinental title from Randy Savage 2 weeks later during a taping of WWF Superstars.

- The Honky Tonk Man came out for an interview. He stated that he would defend his Nation title against anyone, at any time. He then challenged anyone in the back to a title match right then. The Warrior came out and defeated The Honky Tonk Man to win the title in just under a minute.

- WWF World tag team champions Demolition defeated The Hart Foundation when Ax pinned Jim Neidhart at 14:59. ***

- WWF World Champion Randy Savage defeated Rick Rude after a flying elbow drop from the top rope at 18:12. After the match, Ted DiBiase and Virgil came out and attacked Savage.

 

SATURDAY NIGHT?S MAIN EVENT - NOVEMBER 16, 1988

- Hulk Hogan defeated Bad News Brown by disqualification at 7:35 when The Bossman & One Man Gang interfered. Randy Savage came out to make the save. *½  

- WWF World tag team champions Demolition defeated The Young Stallions at 6:23. *¾  

- One Man Gang defeated Tito Santana at 3:06. ½*

- WWF Intercontinental champion The Warrior defeated Greg Valentine at 5:51 after a power slam. *

- WWF World Champion Randy Savage defeated Ted DiBiase in a Steel Cage match at 19:26. ***½

 

SURVIVOR SERIES - NOVEMBER 24, 1988

- The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Rockers &  The Young Stallions defeated The Rougeau Brothers, The Islanders, Los Conquistadors, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard in a Tag Team Elimination match at 39:36. ****  The Hart Foundation and The Rockers were the Survivors.

- WWF Intercontinental champion The Warrior defeated The Honky Tonk Man at 12:28. *½  

- Andre the Giant, Rick Rude, Harley Race, Dino Bravo & "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig defeated Jake Roberts, Brutus Beefcake, The Blue Blazer, Tito Santana & Rick Martel in an Elimination match at 29:12. **  "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig was the Sole Survivor.

- The Powers of Pain defeated WWF World tag team champions Demolition to win the titles at 20:44 when Mr. Fuji hit Smash over the head with a can. After the match, it was revealed that Fuji was the new manager of the Powers of Pain. **¾  

- Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Don Muraco, Koko B. Ware & Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Ted DiBiase, Hercules, Bad News Brown & The  Bossman & One Man Gang in an Elimination match at 35:52. *** Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan were the Survivors.

- The Rougeau Brothers defeated The Young Stallions at 6:28. *¾  

- WWF World Champion Randy Savage defeated The Bossman at 10:47. After the match, One Man Gang came out and attacked Savage. Hulk Hogan came out to make the save. Savage, however, looked upset that the Hulkster came out to help. **

- "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig defeated Tito Santana at 8:21. **¾  

- WWF World tag team champions The Powers of Pain defeated The Rockers at 8:34 when the Barbarian pinned Marty Jannetty. **

- Bad News Brown defeated Hulk Hogan at 9:27 when The Bossman & One Man Gang interfered. *

- Hulk Hogan is interviewed in back by Gene Okerlund, and is attacked by Randy Savage.

- Demolition defeated WWF World tag team champions The Powers of Pain at 11:38 to regain the titles. **¾

- Jesse Ventura interviews Randy Savage. He says that Hogan turned on him when he helped Elizabeth. He then challenges Hogan to a match at WrestleMania.

- Hercules defeated Virgil by disqualification at 5:52 after Ted DiBiase interfered. *¼

- WWF World Champion Randy Savage fought WWF Intercontinental champion The Warrior to a double-disqualification at 11:46. **

- Rick Rude defeated Brutus Beefcake with the "Rude Awakening" at 7:34. **

When Risk and I started doing this, the plan was to start booking Raw as well when we got to 1995. We were going to start adding little things like more description into matches and doing all interviews as well. Since that time, Risk has decided not to continue helping me with this. I hate to be a bit of a pill but most of your main events lasted too long then WWF usually allowed until around 1997 unless the competitors were both god.

 

Which reminds me has Hogan ever wrestled a match over 20 minutes in WWF other then at Wrestlemania VI?

As a matter of fact, Hogan did have a couple of matches go over 20 minutes when he first joined WCW in 1994. As far as the main event match times go, when Bret Hart was champion in 1994, he did had several PPV matches go over 30 minutes. Not that it really matters...because this is fantasy booking. This is how I would have liked to have seen things. Thanks for your comments though.
