The Decemberists Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Me and my housemate have set up a wireless network across our pc's with a broadband modem/router, and the internet part works great but there is a problem with the file sharing. I'm able to get files from his pc no problem, but his pc can't seem to get anything from mine. When you try to view my shared files from his pc you get told you might not have permission to use this network resource. I'm guessing that this means that somewhere on my pc something is not letting him get through, but I've no idea what. I've tried it with all firewalls and internet security down just to see if that was the problem but it made no difference. Does anyone know what could fix it?
Carnival Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 The Windows firewall blocked me on a network once, but in that case i wasn't able to even see the computer on the network. I think you may not have the access set incorrectly on your shared folders. I'm not sure which one exactly, but if he's able to see your computer but just can't get in it, make sure you are allowing sharing of the folders he's trying to access. thats all i got.
