DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 "Shebrew" was fantastic but I thought it was an overall average outing. I was much more impressed with AD this week, but in the grand scheme of the night, even The Simpsons was good. Thumbs up for the January 8th edition of Fox Sunday. Also, while I enjoyed a reference to The Rock... and maybe I'm just getting old and starting down that "let's talk about something on TV and call it offensive" road... but that bit seemed kinda racist, eh? Like, Peter being racist is supposed to be "ok" because he's a retard that doesn't know any better and at times is even gets his in the end (for example, he was kicked in the groin by an angry jew tonight). This seemed to be Don Lafontaine just.. I don't know what.
Crimson G 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Nothing beats that Edison bit. "Figure it out yourself." If only inventors really did that. Man, that'd be hilarious.

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 (edited) "Shebrew" was fantastic but I thought it was an overall average outing. This seemed to be Don Lafontaine just.. I don't know what. I thought both shows were really good tonight. All those people who hate Family Guy now because of the pop culture references and multiple flashbacks should've liked this one. The first flashback didn't come for six minutes or so. Roger's going over of the cliched characters in an office sitcom was great. "What is this Nazi Germany? Because that'd be awesome" was great too. As for The Rock thing, I didn't find it racist at all. If you're not the kind of person who bothers to look things up, you'd have no idea what race The Rock was from looking at him. Hollywood likes that in actors, as they can easily market wider. Edited January 9, 2006 by Placebo Effect
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Nothing beats that Edison bit. "Figure it out yourself." If only inventors really did that. Man, that'd be hilarious. The Simpsons had a joke similar to that in one of the reruns tonight. Alexander Graham Bell stamp: I'm Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone. Elisha Gray stamp: You stole it from me, Elisha Gray Alexander Graham Bell stamp: Read the patent number, bitch
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Holy shit. I just watched the Gene Shalet mugging again. And then the American Movie reference near the end. I wonder how many people got that.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Actually I forgot all about the Edison and Shalet jokes. Good stuff!

Guest guerillagenius Report post Posted January 9, 2006 I was also wondering if anyone else got the American Movie reference, I was floored by the randomness of it.
