Best matches in wrestling games

I just had a good one a few days ago (but I was too lazy to find and bump this thread) anyways, so I was IL my CAW (-insert plug for the JL-) and I was facing Catacus Jack hardcore match for some title... heh heh. (No Mercy).

Anyways, so he's kicking my ass at first and he gets his special, I run away like the wuss I am. I grab a ring bell and slide back as the spirit is almost gone and I whack him with it. So we're about three minutes into the match and we brawl on the outside. He hits his spiked piledriver (varation) on the stairs and I'm down for a bit, so I hit the low blow and begin to whail on him. I get into the flashing red and hop onto the table. He hops on and misses a punch I get the special. Evenflow DDT, the pin... 2 count. I nearly leapt out of my seat in rage but I decided not too and I picked him up and rolled him back into the ring. Soon he gains the upperhand and gets his special, he doesn't hit it and I play dead as he pins, then kick out. His special's gone and then we brawl evenly until we're both flashing red. (Somewhere along the way we cluttered the ring with weapons but that was all the way back in the beginning so yeah) I run into the turnbuckle where he is and he reverses my charge into an abnominal hold, and I go down to dull orange. Then he hits me into the turnbuckle and punches the crap out of me... he gets ANOTHER special. I run around the ring throwing the useless weapons and then after it wears down I pose, hit a strong sambo suplex, pose again. I get my finisher and hit the Evenflow on the ring bell... finally won.

Just had a pretty good match on No Mercy. 30-Minute Iron Man Match between my A.J. Styles (CAW) and Chris Benoit. We were tied 3-3 in the last 30-40 seconds or so. We were both beaten and bloodied, and to the point to where one simple pin would do either of us in. Benoit had the advantage for three minutes prior to this. Benoit whips me to the ropes, and somehow I reverse it. Benoit runs back to me, and I hit the hurricanrana pin for the three-count. With about ten seconds left, I just stand there and let the match end.

On Firepro for GBA, I had a great match a few months ago between Hayabusa (me) and TAKA Michinoku. This went about 20 minutes and was full of reversals and missed moves. TAKA kicked out of about 3 Phoenix Splashes and a couple Fisherman Busters (my specials), but I also escaped some Michinoku Drivers and surprise roll ups. We even teased a double countout as we battled until the 18 before getting back in the ring. Finally I reversed a Michinoku Driver and hit a suplex, Phoenix Splash, 1-2-3. Awesome match.

I just had a great match on No Mercy today. I picked up Dynamite Kid's autobiography yesterday and have been glued to it, so I just got an urge to play as him in something, and my FPD is out of commision. So I gave Davey Boy some Bulldog-esque tights, made Benoit's last costume have longer hair, no stubble, and Bulldog-esque tights, and had a tag match at WM as the Bulldogs against Benoit/Malenko. They went the distance. It lasted 35:50 with headbutts off the top, superplexes, tons of submissions, and PLENTY of near falls, as Dynamite was getting beaten to death. We mounted a comeback because I was able to avoid Dean's specials, Davey hit a powerslam early on, but we were definately on the losing end of the stick most of the match. As Dynamite, I finalle hit Malenko with a superplex, got up top to hit a headbutt, but he got up, so I hit him with a fisherman suplex to eek out the win.

No Mercy was great, Smackdown is OK.

My pals Brian and Eric had a 3 way ladder match in NM with (we selected random characters), Funaki (me), FAARRROOOQ (Brian) and Albert (Eric). The match was a great one, if not just for Eric's, "Face it guys, Albert's on his game!"

Me and Brian had a classic with random characters again. I was Tazz, He got lucky and got Shawn Michaels. We had a 60 minute Iron Man match, with him leading 2 falls to 1 for about 25 minutes. With about 5 minutes left, I started getting hot, my special going up repeatedly, and I locked on 5 Tazzmissions until HBK quit. Tie game. With about 1 minute left, I hit a big German suplex, and a big clothesline. Went I finally pinned him, The count started when the clock was a second behind. (Ex. for 1, the clock was at 2. For 2, the clock was at 1) Just as the 3 count was about to hit, the match ended. Argh!!!!

Nothing beat my friends Ben and Brian not being able to beat me as Rhyno in SD3 on PS2.

Oh man, so many classics.....

The best match I ever had was in Smackdown:JBI

It was a last man standing match, I was Austin my friend The Rock, 6 minutes in he hit me with the people's elbow, that normally put me away but this time I somehow got up at 9.9999, I hit the stunner at 10 minutes and he got up at 9.9999. I belted him down til I had another smackdown and hit him with the stunner at 14:53, the timer reached 15 minutes and I was furious, but the match itself was edge of the seat type stuff.

I just had two great matches in No Mercy.

First was Steve Austin vs Stan Hansen, with Chris Benoit (controlled by me) as special referee. A wild fifteen minute brawl, that Hansen dominates until Austin starts working over Hansen's neck, making the match even. The finish had loads of near-falls for both guys, until Austin finally injured Hansen's neck with a scissor sleeper and then put him away with the Stunner.

Second was Ricky Steamboat (controlled by me) vs Ric Flair. A phenomenal near thirty-minute match, that starts out as a chopfest, then gets down to mat wrestling, with some high spots from me thrown in, with neither guy being able to keep the advantage for any extended period of time. Finally, at about the 25 minute mark, I go for a big splash from the top to the floor, but Flair gets his knees up. Flair throws me inside the ring and commences with a HUGE asskicking, resulting in near-falls galore, until I suddenly get a fluke reversal as he tries a back grapple, I spin him around, executes a small package and gets the pin.

Had 2 more awesome matches today:

First, in Fire Pro Advance, it was Hayabusa (me) vs. Benoit. We went 16:29, full of reversals, counters, and missed 450 splashes (me!). Anyway, I finally put Benoit away after he missed a top rope move and I hit my 5th Falcon Arrow of the match.

Then in Wrestlemania 2000, it was a Television Title match, Chris Benoit (me) vs. Chris Jericho. It was only 8 minutes, but we packed a lot into it. First it was a chopfest, but it lead into striking moves, top rope moves (Jericho did 2 turnbuckle to outside moonsaults on me) and some weapon shots as well. I started working on the back and got a Boston Crab, but Jericho escaped. We were fighting on the outside, I was in the dark green, he was in yellow. He reversed a whip on me into the guardrail and hit a double arm suplex, and I knew it was over. He rolled me in the ring, and I got another boost of energy! I went up top but missed a cross body block, and he rolls me over and locks in the Liontamer. After 10 seconds, I tapped out. Awesome match.

Funniest match I ever had was Shamrock Vs Foley with Steph (me) as the Special ref from No Mercy. Basically what I did was try and call everything down the middle until the end where they both hit me with accidental moves. So then I just went off on both of them and went like Kung Fu style on them for a good 2 minutes. I then got a special, and then caught both men with the Stephanie Slap and called the match a double KO. Honest to God, after all the one sided matches I've had in wrestling games (believe me, I've had a lot)...I can honestly say that was the most one sided beating I've ever done...WITH STEPH, OF ALL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

And speaking of Foley and special guest referees, in Smackdown 1, I was everybody's favorite e-wrestler PANTHER taking on Austin for the World Title in Season mode with Mankind as guest ref. One of the best matches I've ever had, because it starts off with me hitting Foley by accident, and he basically turns on me. And the match between me and Austin went back and forth, until Austin hit me with the SUPER STUNNER OF DEATH , which any other time woulda been a KO, but this time it wasn't. Austin went for the pin, but I kicked out after a fast count. In the end, I came back on Austin, hit him with my finisher and went for the cover, and Mankind just sat their looking at me. So I get up from the pin and beat the shit outta Mankind! Clothesline! Spinbuster! Stunner! Powerslam! DDT! Then when Austin got back up, I hit my finisher again and went for a cover. The funny thing about the ending is that Mankind gets off the mat like nothing happened and calmly counts the 3. It's not as funny describing it, but if you had seen the ending, you'd laugh your ass off.

In Raw, I made a storyline in my head (hey, when there's no story mode, you have to improvise!) and gave CAW Hall/Nash some imaginary tag belts, watched about seven CPU vs CPU matches seeing how far they could defend it.

They kept winning. :o

I gave them Hardyz, Dudleyz, Edge & Christian, Acolytes, Taker/Kane, CAW Chuckabilly, Eddy/Benoit, and even restored the Rock n' Sock Connection with a CAW Mankind and yet Nash/Hall still won.

Desperate, I put together the dream tag team of Rock and Austin. This match went of for literally 20 minutes, and despite some buggy AI issues, watching it was actually fun. At one point, Rock pinned Nash. Hall jumped into the ring and charged, but Austin got in his way. Austin gives Hall the Sunset Flip and... OH MY GOD, Hall lands on the fall going on behind and interrupts the count right before three!

Rock/Austin still won though, so I considered the whole angle finished. =b

I had a Hardy Boyz Vs. The Rockers ladder match in No Mercy (using CAWS for the Rockers) and made it a pretty good match. Jannetty got the belt at around 25 minutes. (i was running in the crowd as jeff like an idiot.)

I had a great match with Ultimo Dragon and Chris Benoit way back on WCW/NWO World Tour. It was a four way match with myself as Dragon, my brother as Benoit and the computer as Mysterio and Malenko. My brother and I quickly eliminated those two and went at it for twenty minutes straight. Benoit kept missing the headbutt until I missed an Asai moonsault. He then finally nailed it and got the pin

The one that stands out for me was in SD2. I was feeling froggy so I decided to attempt running a full WWF schedule starting at 1/1/2001. I do this every few months and get about a month in before I get pissed off that some CPU guy won't lose and quit.

Anyway, January 21 rolled around so I booked the 8-match "undercard" for the Royal Rumble, and one of the matches ended up being Nighthawk (CAW) vs. Intercontinental Champion Eddy Guerrero in a 30-minute Ironman Match. I only wanted 2 out of 3 falls, but I had to improvise. Having forgotten to turn KOs off the fall totals became a bit inflated, but there was a lot of back and forth action before Eddy went up for the Frog Splash, but time ran out just before his jump. Final score: 14-14 draw.

There was also one time in season mode where Jeff Hardy and Essa Rios went about 12 minutes in a ladder match for the LHW title. Good stuff.

IN WM200 I had my caw in a 3-way battle for the IC title, the matches suprisingly rocked. Just lots of back and forth action and it was just really cool, esp if you consider who I was fighting. Test and Shamrock.

Had to keep doing the match over and over though cause I kept loosing.

Just had another awesome match today on WWF RAW for Xbox:

BATTLE OF THE HOSSES~! Kane (me) vs. Bradshaw: The match was 4 minutes and featured brawling, brawling, and CLOTHESLINES. It took TWO Chokeslams to finally put the big, bad Texan to rest. Awesome match.

Guest What?

Another great matche in SD: JBI

Austin/Rock (nWo) vs. Chris Jericho/K Money © (DX)*me*-Tag Team Title Match

This feud has been building for some time now, what with High Society (Y2J/K Money) and Triple H leaving the nWo to start DX. The nWo (now with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman) had "taken out" Triple H the RAW before this "PPV" so he can't be involved...which made this match good. It was mainly Austin/K Money, Chris Jericho/Rock, with no clear victor in sight, until Brock Lesnar ran out. Brock slid into the ring and immediately hit Jericho with the Brock-Buster. Austin covered Jericho, but the ref was distracted by Brock. That was one of my favorite parts, actually. Anyway, K Money runs in and blindsides Rock, knocking him off the apron. The ref then turns his attention to K Money, who nails the ref with a clothesline! Suddenly, HHH runs out and starts beating up on Austin, knocking him right out of the ring. He tries to follow, but Jericho then grabs him and hits the Breakdown! Triple H rolls outside the ring as Brock beats the crap out of him, thus allowing Jericho to lock the Walls onto Rock, who taps out, of course, thus making High Society/DX undefeated with every win by submission. I then put Brock and Heyman into DX and kicked out HHH. Whoo.

Few new best things ever, from the marvelous world of Fire Pro D.

Kobashi going Lariat crazy on the cruisers. Literally, I was surrounded in a battle royale, yelled "Get these fucking cruisers off me!" and hit about 3 or 4 Burning Lariats in a row on a bunch of different guys, cultimating in knocking someone out cold.

Or there was Benoit going Cossface Crazy. Same thing as above, really, only it was more like doing the crossface 10 times, to everyone, until I broke Albert's arm.

BUT...the worst thing that has ever happened in Fire Pro...

Chyna with the CRITICAL! on Ultimo Dragon....

After the ballshot.

BTW, the next 3 members of Taue's team were Kobashi, Kawada and Misawa, in that order.

TIP: On Fire Pro Advance, ALWAYS do CPU vs. CPU with Sasuke against anybody, because the matches are always *****.

Another One...I am SUCH a loser....

K Money vs. The Rock

Special Referee #1: Chris Jericho

Special Referee #2: Stone Cold Steve Austin

Well, this was supposed to be the "blowoff to the DX/nWo feud" but it didn't quite seem right to end it with this match. K$ hits a Release German Suplex and covers. Jericho does a semi-fast count, but Austin hits Jericho to stop it. Jericho gets up and hits Austin, and the ref fight is on! K$ and Rock continue fighting, and Rock hits the Rock Bottom! He covers, but no-one is there to count it! He gets back up and taunts, but K$ gets up quickly, brings Rock down and locks on the Angle Lock. Rock then taps at Fifteen minutes, 36 seconds.

Great match, but not a blowoff match

I jsut did Austin/Benoit in RAW damn it was entertaining. flat out brawl with run-ins by Taker & Eddie. After 16:00+ I lost after the german suplexes. I hit the stunner like 2:00 into the match but Eddie broke up the pin on me.

RAW for Xbox Kig of the ring Tournament:

First Round:

Edge def. Christian with the edge-o-cution (7:17)

Eddie Guerrero def. Rob Van Dam (CAW) with a small package (5:29)

X-Pac def. Booker T with an X-Factor (4:06)

Kane def. Big Show with a chokeslam from hell (6:08)

<none of these 4 matches were that good>

Sem-Finals:

Edge def. Eddie Guerrero after the Edgeecution onto a steel chair (17:12)

Kane def. X-Pac with Chokeslam (2:19)

<Edge/Eddie was great with a lot of close falls, with me getting the win eventually. Kane/Xpac was hilarious cause i didnt get hit once>

Finals:

Kane def. Edge with a powerslam (6:53)

<I was Edge but I guess Edge was too fatigued from the last 2 matches and got killed>

RAW is more fun then most people say it is, yes it lacks alot but still is enjoyable.

KAne wearing a Swan Tutu outfit = Priceless.

Agreed. It takes awhile to get used to but once you do, it's very fun.

I recommend setting "Special move" to the black button, and "catch" (reversals) to the white button, seeing as those buttons are unused. That makes the game easier.
