Guest C.H.U.D. Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 I find it confusing as well. My list says 882 matches & 905 titles. I'll have to e-mail the webmaster and ask what it means.
Guest El Satanico Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 Matches i figure means the movies that they could match to it's cover art. Titles i figure means the total amount of movies including those that the site couldn't match to the cover art.

Guest El Satanico Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 Oh... Well then i have no damn idea what it means.
Guest areacode212 Posted September 6, 2002 Report Posted September 6, 2002 I emailed the webmaster, and this is what he wrote to me: A "match" is an individual listing -- usually it is a single DVD or a box set. A "title" is, for the most part, what normal people would consider a "movie". Extras including documentaries and shorts are never considered "titles" unless they are also sold separately. A disk with a bunch of shorts counts as one title, but not if it is a "bonus disk". With TV series box sets, after heated debate we decided to count one disk as one "title". Multiple versions or cuts of a single movie are only counted once. If you find any wrongs in the database fell free to use the "Advanced" / "Correct Titles" menu option. About more "usefulness"... we will have a nice piece of news in a month or two. :-) I wonder what the mysterious new feature will be!
Guest MDH257 Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Does anyone know how to create a subfolder? I know I had seen the link before but it now seems to have dissapeared.
Guest MDH257 Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Does anyone know how to create a subfolder? I know I had seen the link before, but it now seems to have dissapeared. Sorry about the double post.
Guest areacode212 Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 If you go to My DVDs-->Folder Heirarchy, you can create the subfolders you want in there. Anyone notice that they added a link at the top explaining what the difference is between matches & titles? Yes, we single-handedly changed the look of DVD Aficionado!!
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 10, 2002 Report Posted September 10, 2002 Damn... I forgot that I even had a folder over at the site until I read through here again. I needed to update the collection anyway and now I finally have a link to it in my sig!
Guest Kagato Otaku Posted September 11, 2002 Report Posted September 11, 2002 Might as well tack another on here, so here's my meager contribution to the thread.

Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Since I live in Europe (Sweden, to be exact), many of my DVDs I own in region 2 editions that didn't exist on the site, so I just chose the closest match. And "Coogan's Bluff" didn't exist on the site, but I own it on DVD nontheless. Anyway, my collection: http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat...&id=arkhamglobe

Shed a tear for a guy with a mortgage and a wife and kid to support. And if you really wanna help a brotha out, meander to the wish list and show the love.

Guest areacode212 Posted November 14, 2002 Report Posted November 14, 2002 Hey, we all have to start somewhere. I only owned one DVD (the one that came with the Diablo II collector's set) for like 8 months or so.

Guest Flyboy Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 Two DVDs, but what the hell... My Limited DVD Collection Star Wars: Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones (Full Screen) (2002) Only 2 DVD's and you're already off to a bad start. If you're referring to Star Wars Ep. II because it's full screen, it was a gift so I can't complain.
