In honor of the eddie-rvd run-in...

The guy who ran in during the Guerrero-RVD ladder match was probably the best overall fan run-in I've seen. The guy got in the ring, got on TV, and actually landed a punch on a wrestler. It doesn't get any better than that, if you ask me.

 

Anyway, what are some other memorable fan interference moments?

one time in wcw during like 99, during a macho man segment, someone came and got so close, not as close as that guy, but he was right there.  I'd say that was the closest thing to what happened monday as anything.  BTW macho man snuffed that guy hard, and then you could see security beating him down

Is there anything funner than a fan beatdown?  I was at RAW in Feb (The one with Rock/SCSA vs. UT/Jericho) and a fan jumped the rail and was beaten down by Jericho, SCSA and security.  Funniest shit I have seen.

Hogan's heel turn at BatB 96, when that fat guy tried running in and got the shit stomped out of him by Hall and Nash was a classic. WM3 after the Piper-Adonis match, a fan jumps the rail while Roddy celebrates his victory in his "final match", Roddy just ends up giving him a hug. Afterwards, security went to town on him.

There are some Bill Watts stories where they get the guy who runs-in backstage and beat the shit out of him, and in Japan Dynamite Kid dragged some kid out of the crowd and beat the crap out of him. Ended up with him and Smith spending a night in the cells.

Nitro, some time in 1997 at Buffalo's Marine Midland (now HSBC) Arena. I believe Scott Hall was involved in the match.

 

During a commercial break, this guy jumps the rail and runs into the rin. Mark Curtis kicks him in the stomach and takes him down to the mat, locking him up in one of the nicest police escort holds I've ever seen. They hold the guy until Security can stiff the hell out of him and get him out of there.

 

Didn't even make it onto TV.

::This wasn't really a run-in, but I remember when I used to get The Observer, hearing about a few fans at an ECW show being so out of line that the guys were trying to not work near them.  Eventually, they attacked Balls Mahoney, grabbing his hair and smacking him or something, and the whole locker room emptied out, with Big Dick and Buh Buh running through the crowd after the guys.::

at wrestlemania 4 or 5, a crazy drunken fan ran up to Ueker and gave him a hug as he was coming down the stairs. I dont know why but watching that is hilarious.

Run in fans deserve a swift kick on the backside and to be sent on their way but it disturbs me that some pathetic bully of a wrestler would commit extended GBH on sombody less than half their size.

on rf' videos best of eddy guerrero, he has a match with sabuin japan, and as sabu is walking to the ring, some fan tried to bagn his title belt, and sabu beat the shit out of him.  It was funyy as hell.

Thats on the Extreme Evolution video from Pioneer. Douglas swings at the guy if im not mistaken so the guy picks up his chair and gets a good shot to the big of Douglas's head. He was then thrown out unfairly i might add.

From MTV's Spring Break, the nWo were special guest on the talent show, they hung the losers on hooks by their underwear.  Some drunk from the audience was throwing rocks or batteries on stage at Nash.  Sean Waltman told Kev, and the chase began, the drunk almost made the getaway but was tackled by Nash.  The whole thing is on MTV Uncensored.

There is also a funny one during a Savage-DiBiase Cage Match.  Virgil is halfway up the Cage and this fan attacks him and almost blows the finish.  Virgil hits him a few times and security takes him somewhere...not too far because after the match Macho hugs him.

I think this was 97 or 98, but I seem to recall some goth looking girl going over the rail and hugging Paul Bearer. I remember watching thinking it was part of the show till security came and JR didn't say anything about it.

The reason for the beat-down is that you have know idea what the guy intends to do, or what he might have on him.  There have been endless accounts of people trying to stab & kill wrestlers, mostly in the older days, but you still hear one every now & then.

I saw a really dumb fan run in once at a SMDN taping.  During the firework intro to the show this idiot ran down the aisle and got in the ring, before the guards drug him away.  It was really stupid since SMDN is a taped show, so they just edited him out anyway.  

 

I recall in the weeks before WM 2000 this idiot ran out at HHH in Chicago.  HHH tackled this dude while Linda McMahon was onstage and didn't skip a beat.

I think the best fan run in ever was at WrestleMania 3. Right after Roddy Piper beat Adrian Adoins some fan ran into the ring. Piper shook his hand and hugged him As Piper was leaving ringside in one of those mini rings, you could see the kid get beat down an arrested over Pipers shoulder. The shot was priceless.

Come on, it's not that serious. I'm pretty sure Eddie Guerrero knows how to fall off a ladder without hurting himself. You saw the match, didn't you? And even if Eddie hadn't seen the guy coming, I'm sure he can recognize when the ladder is starting to fall.

 

Anyway, I remember one time some chick ran up to Billy Gunn on the ramp and hugged him. But this was during a babyface run as "Mr. Ass," and no one did anything to her that I saw, so I think she may have been a plant.

 

I also remember some fan getting up to the ring apron during one of Vince McMahon's long-ass promos. Vince said something like, "Yeah, that's how you people act around here."

I recall seeing a video on the internet of Bruiser Brody in the crowd. One guy threw a chair at hit and another guy shoved him. Brody got really pissed and the fans scattered like ants while Brody went on a fucking rampage looking for the guys. Brody found the first guy and gave him one of the hardest punches I have ever seen. Then he finds the second guy and hits him even harder, knocking him out clean.

It's nothing to do with wrestling but during the Wild-Card Playoffs with the Mets/Reds in '99...Three fans ran out onto the field and ran across the pitchers mound and one of them made a funny face at the Mets pitcher...They got caught and I saw them get attacked behind the wall...

 

Remember when that Chick ran onto the field during a Yankees game and gave Jeter a note and got away from the police. I remember she had huge tits.

At SSeries 97, not a run in, but when HBK was thrown into the crowd, a bunch of people started getting in their shots, one guy was using a camera  Ithink.

 

I only rememebr at WM4 where a fan ran up to Bob Ueker, and WM3 when the kid got his ass whooped after Pipers  match.

King of the ring 97 - shawn vs austin

a guy rither retarded or with down syndrome im not making fun or trying to be un-pc here) came over the railing and tried to get in the ring. Shawn and Austin had to stop in their tracks and shawn broke charcter and stopped to help him. What was memorable about it being there live is i saw it happened and worried about security doing like a knee-jerk beatdown on the guy. instead they realized that he probably wanst aware and actually took him and his family backstage. very cool
