Eclipse Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 I have tried this with only Limewire PRO and Ares, but everytime during the process of downloading a song or whenever it finalizes the song, my internet goes HAYWIRE..it disconnects, and then my DSL does the same process it does when being reset (meaning me pushing the switch on the back from on to off, and then on again).. I have NO CLUE as to why it's doing that. It never happened before. It started yesterday. Any help?
Carnival Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 What happens to the lights on the modem? If all or most of the lights go out, then it could be a signal issue or bad modem or may just need reset, there should a small reset pin hole or button on the modem, but don't do this without ISP on the line or unless you know what your doing. Actually resetting the modem will wipe any configs and set it back to defaults. If nothing happens to the lights, then your connection may not be dropping. I would suggest calling your ISP. asking them if your modem is a router, and if it has any firewalls. describe what happens to the modem when it happens.
