David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Okay, I'm retarded when it comes to technical stuff like this... I'm running out of virtual memory WAY too fast for my liking... my friend Scott started telling me how to allocate free hard drive space for virtual memory (I have something like 50 gigs-ish that isn't being used right now) but he never finished... so, does anybody here know how to do it? I have Windows Xp, and btw, if you could provide step by step instructions, that would help greatly. As I said, I'm retarded when it comes to stuff like this. EDIT: I have 50.56 GB of free space on my drive.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Performance Settings --> Advanced --> Virtual Memory (Change) --> Select a hard drive and set the min and max size to the same number, which should be between 1-2 gigs --> Set ---> Restart computer. David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Thanks. What would the recommended amount of free memory be? Not really sure about all this.
