Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted May 26, 2002 My favorite current commercial is the "got chocolate milk?" one with the guy who gargles the hershey's syrup and milk in his mouth, but I always miss why... I think he ran out of glasses or something? Anyway I love that. That kid annoys me. I want to scream "JUST PUT THE FUCKING SYRUP IN THE MILK AND SHAKE IT UP YOU RETARD!!!" every time I see it. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 26, 2002 I currently like the TNN commercial where the guy is at a meeting for a job... comedy.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 26, 2002 As for some funny commercials, that laymation Mt. Dew commercial fucking ROCKS! Tommy: "What just happened, Davey?" Davey: "We got hosed, Tommy. We got hosed..." Dog: "Poor Davey..." Oh God, APO... that commercial just fucking rocks. I love it... Me and my friends sometimes act it out.. it's hilarious. Yes... I have no life. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Bob Barron, AlwaysPissedOff,EvenflowDDT, and Vyce, I think you are all bitches. Why? Because you're all insulting one of the greatest anti-tobacco campaigns ever. Besides, the Truth is there to let us know the truth about tobacco. Greatest, eh? Greatest at what? Making non-smokers buy a pack just to spite them? No wonder the tobacco compaies put those commercials out. I'll bet they tripled their business after those bullshit commercials started airing. Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2002 The Truth is the greatest anti-tobacco campaign ever. It was not made by tobacco companies, but by teenagers in Florida. Their commercials aren't bullshit. They have messages in them. You probably never pay attention to them. The commercials usually start out funny, but by the end, there's always a chilling message. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted May 26, 2002 A couple of things: 1. The Truth commercials ARE PAID FOR BY THE TOBACCO COMPANIES. Read the fine print in the commercials themselves. It was part of the court settlements that the companies would start their own anti-smoking campaign, remember? All of the people in those commercials are actors. 2. Everyone already knows that cigarettes contain chemicals that are bad for you. These commercials aren't telling us anything new. 3. You are the ONLY person I know who hasn't found those Jackass-like commercials to be incredibly annoying. We've had discussions about them on this board before, and everyone unanimously agreed that they were counterproductive if anything. So put all of the above together. Tobacco companies paying to produce anti-smoking commercials which everyone hates. Sounds like sick capitalistic genius to me.
Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2002 They do tell us new things that some people don't know. For instance, in the commercial called "Urinal", a guy walks in the bathroom and so does another guy. The first guy leaves the bathroom. The second guy flushes the toilet and notices a message in the stall. The message says:"Cigarettes contain urea, so does your pee." Second of all, how do you know everyone on this board hates the Truth commercials? Besides you I only know 4 other people who hate those commercials. Who are Bob Barron, EvenflowDDT, Always Pissed Off, and Vyce. Finally, I am not the only one who likes those commercials. All of my friends like them. My dad likes them. Almost everyone I know likes those commercials
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 30, 2002 Everyone's free to have their own opinion, but zacalex919130, you're seriously the only person I've met who has ever liked the Truth commercials. I'll run an analysis of the latest Truth commercial: a) People wind up ol' skool toy babies. Problem #1, ol' skool wind up toy babies are INCREDIBLY annoying, to say nothing of their cartoonish appearances. b) Whereas one wind up ol' skool toy baby is annoying enough, said Truth persons wind up tons of them, flooding a street (I still haven't figured out if the Truth people get permission to do this and it's all an act or if they really just screw with people in real life like this) and annoying the HELL out of any innocent by-standers nearby. Can you say noise pollution? c) Close up on toy baby. Turns out it is in fact wearing a t-shirt with some microscopic anti-tobacco message. In this case, it's a quote from a big tobacco guy or something about babies learning to crawl away from second hand smoke. Not only was the presentation bothersome to all ends, in the end it DIDN'T EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE! OK, that's my Truth rant for tonight. Now, back to a DVD rant... like I said, everyone's free to their opinion, but as for best anti-drug/smoking commercials, I'm going to go ol' skool with the "This is Your Brain / This is Your Brain on Drugs" egg commercial. Why? Because it's a memorable image... granted, Truth being annoying as hell is memorable too, but since they're memorable for being annoying as hell, it's counter-productive, as not only might one not remember the message due to it being annoying, they might remember the message and purposely act against it to satisfy an internal nature to rebel against something annoying. OK, THAT is my Truth rant for tonight. Now, I'm honestly back to a DVD review... shoot, it's almost 11 already?!
Guest Report post Posted May 30, 2002 I am not the only person who likes the Truth commercials. My friends Nick, Tim, David, Trevor, and William like them. My parents and all my relatives like them. My teachers like them. Almost everyone I know likes them. The people who work for the Truth have a right to do what they do in their commercials. Their commercials are only for cool people like me and they are not annoying. You are a dumb idiot.

Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 8, 2002 Okay, now you are getting into glorified trolling, kid. I, nor do anybody else on this board feel like listening to you parrot the Truth.com bullshit anymore, so drop it NOW.
Guest Report post Posted June 8, 2002 Trolls are fantasy. They don't exist. I am a human being. So shut the fuck up.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 8, 2002 As much as I would *LOVE* keep this stirring debate, I don't feel like losing my sanity over a nothing argument with a poster who acts like petulant child just because someone thinks an ultra-lame "anti"-smoking campaign can do no wrong. What a waste.
Guest Report post Posted June 8, 2002 I don't act like a child at all. I'm not even going to waste my time with a jerk like you.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 8, 2002 I don't act like a child at all. You DON'T, do you? Ever read what you post? Sounds like the ramblings of a mentally deficient to me. In fact, let me pull up some examples... You are a dumbass. Only cool people like the Truth commercials. Their commercials are only for cool people like me and they are not annoying. You are a dumb idiot. The Truth is the greatest anti-tobacco campaign ever. It was not made by tobacco companies, but by teenagers in Florida. And that's just some of the bile you've posted in the last 3 posts on here. Not counting all the rest of the immature, spoon-fed horseshit you were spewing eariler. Here's a tip, kid: Grow up and come back when you can form your own educated opinions on things instead of relying on commercials paid for by the very companies they are "dissing". I'm done with this.
