Favorite TV commercials...

After the Super Bowl, the only commercials that really stick out in my mind are the Britney Pepsi commercials.  But the ad that for some reason I always chuckle at is the Got Chocolate Milk commercial where some kid buys some choc and smashes it right in front of the saleswoman.  Don't ask me why, but I just find that so funny.  

 

Oh, and I see ANY more commercials for Crossroads, i'm going to destroy my TV.

So this guy is sitting at the side of the road with this goldfish when all of the sudden a stranger stops his car to allow the man to cross the road. The man with the goldfish walks out in front of the other man's car when he honks the fucking horn and he drops the goldfish! Awesome shit.

I'm not sure if you people have seen them, but in Canada, there's these commercials for The Weather Channel, just intrigue me. Mainly becuase I don't know a damn thing about whats going on, but they still make me laugh.

Two kids are playing in the pool when a fat guy, who surprisingly looks like John Tenta climbs the ladder to the pool.  The fat man jumps in the pool and splashes out all of the water, and the kids fly out while Tenta is stuck their.

mine would be the 7up commercials and the Nike commercials with all the ballers doing trick dribbles, and the one where gap kids almost got ran over buy that car, and simpsons butterfinger commercials, and it was series i seen during monday night football the one where that chick gets pulled over and tells the cops that radar gun gives him cancer to avoid getting ticket and the end of the series she dies of a crash.

I liked the old-school Truth commercials (Splode, Ridazit, the exploding sneakers, etc). They were freaky and fooled me a few times (I wasn't really paying attention). I was like, "hmm. That's an odd marketing gimmick. Why would anyone buy that soda?"

 

There was a certain Old Navy commercial from Summer 2000 that I really liked. It played a lot on UPN 9 during the late-night Blind Date/Voyager/NewsRadio Power Hour, so it sort of grew on me. It was the T-shirt commercial with the Jackson 5's "ABC" playing in the background. Of course, the T-shirts sucked, but the girls in that commercial were really, REALLY hot, so how could you not love it. Plus, it played during NewsRadio. 'Nuff said.

 

That old Sega Dreamcast (?) commercial with the hot Asian thief was good, too.

My favorite current commercial is the "got chocolate milk?" one with the guy who gargles the hershey's syrup and milk in his mouth, but I always miss why... I think he ran out of glasses or something? Anyway I love that.

 

I can't stand the truth commercials.  The rat one is funny (it's a guy in a rat suit, how could it not?!) but the group strikes me as a bunch of pretentious jack-asses, nothing more.

 

The Jack in the Box commercials were so awesome though.  My favorite is the one with the doctor describing how bacon prevents baldness and we should all buy Sourdough Jacks with the closing lines "Where did you find this guy?" "Tobacco company."  Cracked me up every time.  That's a way better and more subtle anti-smoking messag than those damn annoying truth people.  The Carnivores ones are funny too, if they show 'em anymore.

Actually, I just went to the Carnivores Football webpage and whoever came up with that idea for Jack in the Box did a real good job with that, the site is really pretty in-depth, kinda like a "this is Spinal Tap" only for fast food commercials.  Ummm... yea... they may not have the best food but Jack in the Box commercials RULE!

My favorite current commercial is the "Budweiser. True." one where the guy is at his girlfriend's parent's house. He's saying stuff like, "So, Lindsay tells me you're loaded" and "I can see myself living here after you two die."

 

The first "WASSSSUP!" commercial was comic genius. There was another one which was funny as hell, but I can't think of it for some reason.

 

I like that Bud Light commercial where they do the BattleBots thing.

The Truth rocks. It's there to tell us the truth about tobacco. Most of their commercials are pretty funny. They are not jackasses.

The Truth.com BS are the ONLY commercials I've ever seen that MADE people go buy a pack of smokes. Hell, I even wanted to after watching all those annoying as fuck stunts they pulled in the name of "prevention". Fuck them all.

I don't know if these are airing in Canada, but during the NHL playoffs, the "Welcome to Hockey Falls" commercials are fall out of your seat hilarious.

 

One of the ones is their in a bar, and a referee walks in, and you hear somebody say "cough*zebra!" like the ref is a real cop. He called two of the guys in the bar for offsides because one stepped off the curb in front of the other one, so that's offsides.

 

Another one sees a gut come in with an autographed Bruins jacket, by everyone on thier last Cup team. The waitress spills water on the right sleeve, wiping off all the sigs on that side. I almost fell out of my recliner during that one.

First off, lI completely agree on the truth ads making non smokers go buy some smokes thing. Last quarter for my English 131 class I wrote a 6 page essay that was mainly about how the truth ads do that and I got a superior on it. Second, that salmon commercial someone mentioned above is great, "LOOK AN EAGLE!(WHAM)". Third, my favorite commercial(besides all the Aflac duck commercials) has to be the commercial for Evil dead the video game with the dude getting a little hedge trimmer put on his arm adn Bruce Campbell chasing him down.

My favorite too.  But of course, any commercial with Bruce Campbell doing his schtick is automatically the Best Commercial Ever, simply by default.

 

I love the Davey & Goliath commercial as well.

 

And if I'm not mistaken, the Truth.com commercials are paid for by the tobacco companies.....so there's a reason those commercials are so annoying that they make you want to smoke.  It's marketing genius.
