Drawing files on dvd

Hey...just got back from Best Buy...I picked up Drawing Files for $12.99

 

I don't know much about it other then it's got Kevin Smith involved in it and has people from his other movies in it: Jason Lee and Jason Mewes anyway. It predates any of the Smith jersey films

 

I'll watch it in a day or two and report back

It's not made by Kevin Smith, it's made by some other guy(I knew his name like 5 minutes ago) and released under the View Askew label as part of their deal with Miramax.  It came back in '98 or '99 I think.  It's alright, but not as good as the Kevin Smith View Askew stuff.

I know it wasn't made by Smith...I think he's a producer in it...I just meant he was involved in it.

 

Jay is in it...I don't think he plays Jay though.

According to the IMDB Smith produced the film.  It was written and directed by Matthew Gissing  and

Malcolm Ingram, although Jay and Silent Bob do appear in the film.

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes are both in the film.  Jay and Silent Bob are not.

You know, I was going to pick this up the other day, but decided against it because even though I like Kevin Smith films (I know he didn't do this one), I'm not one of those psycho-View Askew junkies, so I wasn't sure if it would appeal to me.  Would any View Askew junkies in here recommend it to someone who's not one of them?
