Tim Skold from KMFDM (who is also producing the new album "the Golden Age of Grotesque") replaced him.

It was actually rumoured that Twiggy might join up with Metallica, as he is friends with Lars Ulrich. However there is more to Twiggys absence then what Manson is telling us. Twiggy is reknown for his heroin problem, and i doubt Metallica will want shit like that bringing them down, espically with Hetfields recent addiction problem.

I just hope Metallica find a cool bassist and start the head banging all over again!

Did he elaborate? What is Marilyn Manson "changing their sound" to?

Oh well. Twiggy was never exactly the best aspect of Manson's music anyway. In my opinion the first album (which Gidget Geins wrote the basslines for) was much better than Twiggy's later works with the man son.

But that's just me.

yep, Bass Players for Manson's genre of music are a dime a dozen.

probably more mechanical, manson said skold was having a heavy influence on the album (in the KMFDM vein). Manson also said things would go in the vein of "the nobodies" (which i hated).

All i know is that this has me interested as to what this new sound is exactly. I thought his last album was the best stuff he's done in awhile so i'm interested in seeing where the hell he's going with it now.

By the way...fuck Metallica the best thing they could do is retired and get their old asses out of whatever music scene they now claim. Can't wait till Metallica teams up with some shitty mainstream rapper so they can kill off all the fans who think they are still good.

well... funny you should mention that.... while Hetfield was in the rehab, Kirk and Lars did a track with Ja-Rule... it was ordered by the company (according to all the sites I have read) and basically the track has the rapper talking while some hard Metallica is thrashing away in the background...

just think when Jimmy Page sold out and ruined "Kashmir" by playing with Puff Daddy and you'll have the same thing here...

fuck.

yes Holy Wood owned. I just hope Golden Age is more in the vein of lovesong, target audience, and cruci fiction

Manson has never made a bad album.

I think Mechanical Animals, musically, was genius.  I fucking love that CD.  Here's my ranking:

Antichrist

Mechanical

HolyWood

Portrait

Smells Like Children

No portrait and smells are ok and i like them but theyre not good. Theyre more of a put on and listen as opposed to antichrist and holywood which are all around good cds.
