Guest areacode212 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I hardly ever went into the books section of the old board, but if people want to discuss books in here, that would be cool with me. It doesn't have to be just sci-fi/fantasy (after all, Greg Rucka also writes crime-type novels) but we should keep it fiction-only. By that I mean that maybe you talk about Eps 1-6 in the TV/Movies forum and talk about the books like X-Wing and the new Jedi order here. And I second AC212's recommendation for crime fiction. Absolutely true. If you're gonna read anything, read Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy" (considered to be the unofficial eps 7-9) and "Hand of Thawn" Duology and the New Jedi Order series. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted February 20, 2002 Yep, the Zahn books (which pretty much kicked off the new batch of Star Wars novels) were all pretty good. I haven't read any of the later ones, though, except Shadows of the Empire, which I enjoyed too. Supposedly, the comic version of Shadows covered the "other side of the story", which was only briefly covered in the novel. I didn't manage to catch it, though.
