Benoit in-store appearance in nyc tomorrow

Recommended Posts

If anyone in the NYC area wants to meet Benoit and mark out over him and/or ask him geeky smarkish questions about Triple H, now's your chance!

He'll be at the K-Mart on 34th Street (250 W. 34th Street), a block away from MSG, from 3 to 5 PM.

Hmm, if I go, what should I ask him?

When I met Benoit I told him I was 4 Horsemen for life and flashed the 4 fingers. He smiled, nodded and said thats the way to be.

Yeah! I met Benoit today!

I didn't really get to ask him any questions. I had thought of maybe asking him about how he felt about wrestling the "WWF style" (with its emphasis on brawling & punches & kicks), but by the time I got up to him, I was tired & sweaty from standing on line for two hours, and I didn't want to hold up the line. This was how the exchange went, if anyone cares:

(areacode212 walks up to Benoit & shakes his hand)

areacode212: What's up, Crippler!

Chris Benoit: Hey.

(areacode212 hands Benoit an empty, somewhat beaten-up Memorex VHS tape box)

areacode212: See, I don't really have anything with your picture on it, BUT, this is where I keep your, uh, '94 J-Cup tape.

(Benoit signs "Chris Benoit" on the box)

Benoit: '94 J-Cup, huh? So you're a big Japan fan? Hmm...was I Wild Pegasus or Pegasus Kid here?

areacode212: You were Wild Pegasus!

(Benoit prints "Wild Pegasus" underneath his name. He must have felt kinda sorry for me & the pathetic item I had him sign, because he picks up a glossy WWE photo of himself)

Benoit: Would you like one of these?

areacode212: Yeah, that'd be great!

(Benoit signs it. Then we pose for a picture, and exchange "Thanks", but he thanked me first)

So that was pretty cool, even though I didn't think of asking him any insightful questions, not even "So, are you going to end up on Raw?" I chatted with a bunch of people while I was waiting on line, and that was entertaining. Everyone was exchanging "when I met a wrestler" stories, mostly from WWF New York/The World appearances. One girl had a somewhat entertaining one about Booker T. When she met him, she was with her friend who was wearing an Austin t-shirt. Booker then went into "Tell me she isn't wearing that shirt!" mode (they were feuding at the time), and after the girl exclaimed "Well, she is! She is!", Booker (playfully) called for security to "remove these two ladies". Booker rules, I can't wait until he turns babyface.

Anyway, at first I thought my empty tape box was a very crappy thing to get signed, but it actually looks pretty cool with the tape inside. If I ever meet EDDY~!, I'll have him sign it on the back and write "Black Tiger" below his name. Thanks for not going out of business, K-Mart!

That sounds awesome.

If anyone cares- Hogan is gonna be signing at Toys R US in Times Square on June 6th.

Oh, god, that will likely be a mob scene (I've never been to a Rock signing though...that would probably be worst of all). There were a lot more people than I expected for Benoit; imagine what it'll be for the Big Orange Machine. There's no way I'm going there.

Let me just tell you this....when HHH did a signing at WWF NY the night after his big return, and it was supposed to be at 12:30pm.  I said....to be on the safe side, get there at like 9.  I got down there, and I swear to you, there were already at least 200 people lined up who came straight from MSG the night before.  The line went all the way down to 8th Ave..I've never seen a longer line for anything, seriously.

hogan-who wants that peice of shits autograph

That was so constructive I oughta be wearing a hardhat.

I met Hogan at an airport when I was two or three or something.  I don't remember all of it that clearly, but I know he was really cool to me and my dad.
