Guest Report post Posted May 31, 2002 All of this "new direction" talk has gotten me to thinking about the future of the WWE and what I would do if I were put in the main position of booking... yeah, I know the writing team has been split up, but since this is just fantasy, then I'll just ignore that and play the Vince McMahon role of overseeing everything KOR Austin vs. Guerrero. If I were booking this match, I would have Eddie go over Austin with outside interferance from Benoit. Hogan vs. Angle: This hasn't been announced but I'm betting this is the direction they're going to take, saving a McMahon/Hogan match for a bigger ppv (we'll get to that later.) This could be an interesting feud. Booking it ahead of the ppv, I would have Angle either next week or the week after, come out to Real American, cutting a promo on how "HE is the REAL AMERICAN hero" which adds more fuel to the fire. Now onto the match. If Hogan lost it would be his third match to lose out of four... which makes this tricky. Angle doesn't need a loss either. Angle is also leaving for the Olympics some would argue (but that's just a big MAYBE right now... and even if he does it's not until winter.) The WWE is also trying to do everything to convince Angle to stay, and giving him a win over Hogan would be a good start. SO, if I were booking this match, I would have Angle cleanly. After the match, Hogan gets beat to a bloody pulp by Angle, McMahon, and possibly Jericho. (which comes into play LATER) HHH vs. Undertaker: This hasn't been made an official match either, but from what I'm seeing this is what direction they're going. HHH has been engaged in a little mini feud with Test and Storm, which makes me think they might have another Team Canada thing going. Either way, I would book Undertaker to win this match because of interferance from Test, Storm, and possibly Christian. Edge vs. Jericho: (I have no idea if they're really going to do this but this is the way I would book the ppv) Jericho wins. There is no excuse in letting Edge win, especially if they are going to extend a feud to a rematch. KOR tournament: Special stipulation added, being that whoever wins, gets a title shot at the next ppv (Vengeance I believe.) RVD wins against whoever... Brock gets DQed either early on midway through because of either a) beating opponent beyond recognition or b) Heyman accidentally gets him DQed. After KOR The Benoit feud with Austin is already firmly set in place, leading up to a match at Vengeance Hogan, due to getting beaten to a bloody pulp, takes a little more a few weeks off, returning to set up a rematch with Angle Taker starts a full blown angle with RVD to set up their match HHH extends his feud with Storm/Test, which gets booked into either a handicap match, or a match with Storm (most likely Test if they go this direction) Edge and Jericho continue their feud Vengeance Undertaker vs. RVD: RVD wins, becomes champ, enough said Austin vs. Benoit: Austin and Benoit put on a ****+ classic which puts Benoit over just as much as Austin, with Benoit winning either cleanly or from outside help. If they go this direction, Austin will probably win, but either way, if they both put each other over in the match by teasing an Benoit win several times due to near falls, then it won't hurt Benoit at all. I still book Benoit over Austin. Angle vs. Hogan: Hogan wins this one but just BARELY... Angle dominated almost the entire match and looks to win until Hogan Hulks up. At this point, McMahon runs down to the ring, picks up a chair, and goes to hit Hogan with it but accidentally hits Angle. Hogan beats up McMahon, leg drops Angle, and wins... A Hogan win over Angle in a rematch wouldn't be a bad idea if Angle just completely destroys Hogan, making the fans realize who would've won if not for McMahon. HHH vs. Storm (or Test): HHH wins (stay with me I'll elaborate more) Edge vs. Jericho: Jericho wins again, either by cheating or whatever After Vengeance Benoit and Austin have a rematch on RAW, topping or coming close to their match at the ppv. Austin gets his win back from Benoit causing Flair to snap, which leads to the long awaited Austin vs. Flair match at SummerSlam Hogan comes out on Smackdown and gives a somber speech about his match with Angle, basically stating that Angle would've beaten him if not for McMahon's clumsiness, and that it's obvious he doesn't have what it takes anymore and that it's time for him to ride out into the sunset, but since McMahon won't let him, he challenges McMahon to a match at SummerSlam for his right to retire. If he wins, he gets to bow out. If McMahon wins, Hogan stays under contract. McMahon accepts... the feud can be played up big by the "who is responsible for Hulkamania's success?" question running through After blowing off Edge/Jericho, Jericho becomes the new challenger to RVD's title HHH turns heel soon after Vengeance, and begins a feud with Edge (which they teased a few weeks ago.) Undertaker moves on to somebody else, and it really doesn't matter who in my opinion. SUMMERSLAM The second biggest pay per view of the year, with the "Two biggest superstars in WWE history, each battling the owners of the WWE" theme running through it. RVD vs. Jericho: Excellent match, putting both superstars over. Jericho comes close to winning throughout, but RVD pulls off an upset win in the end Flair vs. Austin: The match we've all been waiting for. An instant classic, ending with Austin finally getting the win over Flair. Flair turns face afterwards and moves on to feud with Guerrero and Benoit which leads to his "retirement run" of matches Hogan vs. McMahon (right to retire match): Horrible match yes, but Hogan wins, finally bowing out (except for like Flair, special occassions.) HHH vs. Edge: HHH wins by cheating (sledgehammer?) which leads to a rematch whenever
Guest Report post Posted May 31, 2002 Oh yeah, I forgot. Since RVD wins against Taker at Vengeance, he is forced to give up the IC title which leads a tournament at SummerSlam... Guerrero gets the title back in the tournament
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted May 31, 2002 RVD beating Jericho is an upset? Van Dam has made Jericho his bitch on quite a few occasions over the past year.
Guest Report post Posted June 1, 2002 Well "upset" was probably the wrong word to use. I do think a series of great matches between the two would build both of the guys credibility though... and in the end, it would be Jericho fueding for the title, and not HHH
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 1, 2002 Good LORD, keep Test away from the Main Events. Edge vs. Jericho: (I have no idea if they're really going to do this but this is the way I would book the ppv) Jericho wins. There is no excuse in letting Edge win, especially if they are going to extend a feud to a rematch. Oh HELL No. Jericho really doesn't need that shit.
