Totally splitting the wwe

I came up with an idea for dividing Raw and SmackDown! which I thought was cool but has no chance of happening.

First, Undertaker loses the belt to Triple H, and Chris Benoit gets moved to Raw when it turned out that Dawn Marie had Vince sign his release papers. Chris Benoit, representing Raw, challenges SmackDown's Triple H for the Undisputed Title.

Benoit hits the Rolling Germans on HHH and pins him. However, it's the dreaded Double German Suplex Pin finish. Vince comes out and declares that HHH won, while Flair insists that Benoit won. Suddenly, the Undisputed title is in dispute. Ooh. So this adds to the running story of Benoit winning the belt only to have it pulled away via technicality.

The argument between owners continues, and McMahon says "whether you like it or not, I, and WWE, recognize Triple H as the WWE Undisputed Champion." Flair retorts by withdrawing the entire Raw brand from WWE and recoginizing Chris Benoit as the WCW Heavyweight Champion. Effective immediately, the Raw brand is no longer a WWE subsidiary, but an independent federation, known simply as RAW, which will now stand for Rebirth of American Wrestling.

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler are released from their posts and rehired by WWE for SmackDown!. Joey Styles and Paul Heyman, in front of a live Philly crowd, reclaim the broadcast positions. All WWE belts on RAW are stripped and air-mailed to WWE headquarters in Stamford, as they are useless on RAW. The main belt is now the WCW Championship, along with the RAW North American Title, the N.W.A. Tag-Team titles, the J-Crown, WCW TV title, and the ECW Championship.

I think RAW as Rebirth of American Wrestling could be great, but it won't happen. Ever. Tell me what you think of the idea.

That's actually a really really good idea... I would love that. The only problem I have, is your choice of titles. Since it would be WCW, it should have only WCW titles IMHO

But yeah, GREAT idea

Okay, I wasn't sure if it was better to have sampling or to go all WCW and risk being WCW with a different name.

But still I'd have the Hardcore belt be the ECW Championship, which I think Rhyno still has. I think the TV one was stolen though.

That would be cool... since the US title was unified with the IC title, I could see them pushing the new WCW TV title to US/Intercontinental status

Oh yeah, I forgot about your idea for a North American title

Oh well, either way

There was an N.W.A. North American title back in the days of the N.W.A. stable in WWF with Jarrett, Windham, Gunn, and Holly. So they could either use that belt if they can get it, or just make a RAW belt with that name.

Now what would really be great would be the N.W.A. tag belts, since I think that promotion had some of the best tag-team wrestling in history. (Rock n Roll, Fantastics, Midnight Express on its own warrants the praise)

Only thing I left out was a women's title for RAW, but it's really not that important.

J-Crown?  what status will this have on the new RAW?  Would X-Pac sit on this title never to defend it, like he did with his last reign as champ?

Love the idea, but you need to fix the titles.  I would also fire the New World Order, save Booker T.  Here are the titles I would use.

World Heavyweight title

United States Heavyweight title

Tag Team titles

I think it would work well with Benoit as WH champ, RVD as USH champ, and The NEW Hollywood Blondes(Goldust and Booker T with a dye job).

Very cool idea, but I'd stick with calling it WCW and the show WCW RAW. "Rebirth of American Wrestling" is way too regional for a worldwide promotion, plus what happens 1 year down the road.. it's not much of a rebirth after that long, is it?

You do have a point about it being somewhat local. But I was referring to North American wrestling as a genre, like Stampede and N.W.A., just as a way to differentiate from the sports-entertainment. As for the time concern, I would hope that the "retro" style of RAW would still prevail as a resurrection of 1970s-1980s pro wrestling, with dimmed-down house lights, more wrestling, and bloodier fighting. Just a more serious approach.

Maybe a good name would just be RAW: Regional American Wrestling.  Instead of calling them RAW titles they could call them Global Honored Crowns, like in All Japan.  Maybe have  Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight titles, as well as International tag team titles(which could be defended in many nations).
