Guest Smitty Report post Posted February 14, 2002 I just want to make sure I have my story straight.... Tully Blanchard was in the ads as fighting with the Heenan family, and was fired the night before or at Survivor Series '89 due to drug use. Bobby Heenan replaced him, Arn Anderson wrestled his last WWF match, and the two left soon after. Is this what really happened? Why did Arn leave? Was he fired? I'll stop asking questions now. Anybody with any clue about this, I'd appreciate you clearing it up, thanks.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Tully failed a drug test. Arn & Tully had planned to go back to the NWA/WCW, but only Arn would. Since NWA/WCW decided not to hire Tully after he failed the drug test.
Guest fouronthefloor77 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Arn wasn't fired I think he wasn't happy with the money and Turner gave him a better guarantee so he asked for his release and was granted.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Arn got screwed when Tully got busted. Arn's deal in WCW was under the assumption that he'd be coming in as a tag team with Tully. When the WWF made it known that Tully failed a drug test, Turner pulled Tully's contract and gave Arn 1/2 what he was promised. As for the reasons why they were leaving the WWF, I'm pretty sure that they weren't happy with the work schedule and they wanted to be back in the south with their families.
