Guest The Mountie Report post Posted June 1, 2002 Who do you think from the old style WWF would fit in best in today’s federation?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted June 1, 2002 Bad News Brown or the heel version of Jake Roberts. Both were characters that would get over extremely well today.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 1, 2002 TED ARCIDI! he could fued with mark henry. um i always liked old heel Piper and i think he could work nowadays.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 1, 2002 Ted Dibiase could be good anyday of the week, month or year. Demolition (too bad Darsow & Eadie are over the hill and so is Adams) Old School Taker
Guest Report post Posted June 1, 2002 Old school Jake Roberts should be the basis for every single heel in the world of wrestling today. Old School Taker should be the basis for every dark and gloomy character. But Dynamite Kid...if he could wrestle Chris Benoit today... I would wet my fuckin' pants. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 1, 2002 we didn't need to know THAT. Rick Rude & Ultimate Warrior might be over today. (if Warrior isnt booking himself)
Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 2, 2002 I loved the Bad News Brown gimmick, it was good enough to be effective and entertaining during any period. I agree that Rude and Dibiase would still work as well, their gimmicks emphasised their superiority over the 'average' fan watching and they were consistantly portrayed as ruthless, cunning and often successful. Roberts had a uinique presence about him and an individual act that got under people's skin, an air of intrigue that left you wanting more. The pace and booking style of modern wrestling make it incredibly difficult for great heels to flourish because they aren't afforded a long enough run of success to build up genuine fan anticipation to see them get what's coming to them. Heels used to be clever and resourceful whereas nowadays they are dumb enough to be outwitted on a weekly basis.
Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted June 2, 2002 Roddy Piper has always been charasmatic enough to get over in any time period so I don't think that he would have a problem these days and I think that he would probably be a hell of a lot more entertaining than most of the other heels in the promotion. Guest Report post Posted June 2, 2002 Ricky Steamboat, always an phenominal wrestler, and in a work-rate driven wrestling scene, Ricky would fit right in. Also Roddy Piper, his charisma was always worth tuning in for and was always a laugh to watch in the ring. Bring back the Deadman! This has been the Taker Mark

Guest Drury37 Report post Posted June 2, 2002 I think Ted Dibiase would be cool nowadays,I also think it would be cool if he had I.R.S. with him because I think Money Inc. would be an awesome heel tag team nowadays. Thanks.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Razor Ramon Ted Dibiase HBK (hasn't wrestled in 5 years so he's old) and Bill Clinton from WMX (why did vince do that?)

Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 3, 2002 LOD could, but well, they got turfed by the fans for being O L D.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Dusty Rhodes was basically the prototype for the "jolly fat guy" role that Bubba Ray and Rikishi currently inhabit. Also, the 1991-era Great Muta could've gotten over huge now (if Vince didn't cut him off at the knees like every other Asian wrestler).
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 3, 2002 british bulldogs (their work ethic would get them over in a second) brutus "the barber" beefcake (during his barber period he had charisma oozing from him. are you hearing this hogan?) slick (great heel manager that would still work today. hulk hogan (...ohh...right)
