Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted June 2, 2002 Rock and Austin have both held the Title 6 times if memory serves. Hogan held it 5 times before winning earlier this year, giving him a total of 6. Now HHH is gunning for his 6th Title at KOTR. What are the odds of a four-way at Summerslam to establish a new record of 7-time champ? Probably none, but I think it would be kind of cool. WHat do you think? Guest Report post Posted June 2, 2002 Well, it's a pretty good idea, aside from the fact that I don't want to see the championship belt on any of them. (Three out of those four bore the royal piss out of me.) For the record, it's Hogan, HHH, and Austin that bore the hell out of me. And I'd like to see The Rock spend a long time chasing the belt with either Angle or Jericho holding it, with him finally upending one of them at like Wrestlemania or whatever. Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted June 2, 2002 As (probably) bad as this match could be, I think it would be pretty kewl...as long as HHH or Hogan didn't win. It would also be the top 4 superstars today (or ever for that matter) going at it. Rock's probably the best out of these right now, but Austin has had a WAY better overall career, so he should probably win.
Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted June 2, 2002 Also, a special guest referee would be good for this match. Say, Bret Hart (if he would do it), Shawn Michaels, or someone more old-school.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted June 2, 2002 What are the odds of a four-way at Summerslam to establish a new record of 7-time champ? What if the current champ wins? Anyways, bad idea. I'd rather see Austin vs. Benoit for the title.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 2, 2002 I juat want to take exception to the statement that HHH is one of the top 4 superstars ever. Thank you.
Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted June 2, 2002 And I'd rather see Benoit vs. anyone credible......... but that wasn't what my post was about. Sure what if the current champ wins??? I'm not predicting the Summerslam main event at all. And, neither Austin or Benoit has the Title right now. I just had a thought, and figured that this ooportunity wouldn't come up for a long time (four of the greatest wrestlers ever all holding the record for most WWF(E) World Titles all active at the same time). Guest wolverine Report post Posted June 3, 2002 (four of the greatest wrestlers ever all holding the record for most WWF(E) World Titles all active at the same time). Geez, I hope you're not referring to ring work when you say "greatest wrestlers ever" because aside from Austin, none of the other three are what I'd describe as "great" wrestlers, now or ever. Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted June 4, 2002 I don't think anyone has ever referenced Hogan as one of the greatest of all-time due to his incredible ring work and moveset. The majority of the fans care nothing about that. The more knowledgeable fans may care about that sort of thing, but the target fanbase thinks, "Austin is one tough SOB!!! He drinks beer, acts like a redneck, and JR says he is the meanest SOB around! HELL YEAH!" Sad but true. No, I was referencing the fact that Austin, Rock, and Hogan are some the biggest names of all-time due to popularity and cross-over appeal. HHH became the second coming of Ric Flair in 2000 and was by far the breadwinner in the company at the time.
