I know I'm way behind here, but just started watching 24 from series one. I likes. All of the parellel running stories are wonderful.

I really have been meaning to watch 24 but I never have time. I don't watch the new episodes because I'd probably have more questions the more I watch it. Might get a loan of the DVD's off my cousin and give it a try

You can pick up the boxsets dirt cheap of play/amazon when the new series come out. Thats what I do, you end up getting them for 15 quid rather than 40.

Saying that, I wont bother with season 6, it was total ass.

Even though (I think) I'm the only one here who cares about the work of Kevin Smith, I thought I'd post up this article on him from www.newsaskew.com about his next two films.

Kevin Smith Wants Rosario Dawson For His ‘Porno,’ Compares ‘Red State’ To ‘Shining’

‘It’s not horror like ‘Hostel,’ ‘ director says of ‘State,’ which starts filming in early 2008.

After years of writing films surrounding characters in the View Askewniverse, Kevin Smith is gearing up for two very different films without Jay and Silent Bob, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” and the horror film “Red State” — but that doesn’t mean audiences won’t see at least one familiar face from his previous flicks.

“I wrote [the role of Miri] for Rosario Dawson,” Smith said of the “Clerks II” star. “I’d be kind of flabbergasted if she didn’t do it.”

When reached for comment, Dawson’s management said “no deal is in place at the moment.”

“It’s a lot of new faces,” Smith continued. “But Jason Mewes is going to be in it — not playing Jay, but playing a new character. Hopefully Jeff Anderson [Randall from ‘Clerks’] as well.”

The story of two friends from Minnesota who launch an amateur-porn studio on the eve of their 15-year high school reunion “Zack and Miri” will be “done shooting by Christmas,” Smith announced, and “sometime in February or March, we are going to start on ‘Red State,’ ” he said.

Though Smith described “Red State” as a “horror movie,” he conceded that not everyone will agree.

“I keep trying to, like, [temper] everyone’s expectations, because it’s not horror like ‘Hostel.’ It’s not gore porn,” he insisted. “The best comparison I think of is ‘The Shining.’ It’s going for that kind of mood. It’s a very unsettling film.”

A blogger, podcaster, lecturer and frequent commenter on the Internet, Smith was uncharacteristically tight-lipped about “Red State,” coyly suggesting that most of what we think we know about the film is wrong.

“You hear the log line about, like, religious fundamentalism gone awry, and you’re like, ‘All right, I kind of got the movie in my head.’ That’s Act One,” he said. “Whatever everybody knows about it in terms of the [Fred] Phelps-like character is just a piece of the movie and the movie kind of becomes a bigger statement than just that.”

Radical right-wing preacher Fred Phelps, whom Smith called “a fringe, bizarrely Christian archetype,” served as a model for the movie’s antagonist.

“He definitely informs the character, but it’s not like this is Fred Phelps with a different name,” Smith said. “That’s kind of an easy target to me. If you’re just going to tee off on crazy, crazy, right-wing fundamentalist extremists, that’s kind of easy. I think our movie doesn’t stop there. It goes out to target something a little harder.”

That hardness may come with a price, specifically Smith’s first onscreen death. (No, we’re not counting that old guy in the bathroom from “Clerks.”) Asked how many protagonists there were in the film, Smith replied, “We start with four.”

The fact that Zack and Mimi should be done my Xmas suprises me as it wasn't that long ago that the title was announced. But this is Kevin Smith, and as much as I love him, he's not the most reliable soul.

The teaser trailer for Argeno's "Mother of Tears" is up. It's the final part of the "Three Mothers" trilogy, which includes "Suspiria" and "Inferno"

Clerks 2 was hilarious. Yea, it got way too schamltzy and lame at the end, but it was one of the funniest movies of 06. And the ABC scene owned.

Lushus, I'm going to have to disagree with you (which doesn't happen often) but Clerks 2 was awesome. I enjoyed every second of that film.

I would when the English subtitled or dubbed one will come to Anchor Bay DVD. I guess sometime next summer for the DVD, which is a major bummer. I really hope some studio subs this and gives it a release cause I've been looking forward to it.

Also, DOOM is just as horrible as I thought it would be. Which is a shame cause it could have been at least an entertaining horror/action flick. Instead, the first 10 minutes (which had a nice ALIENS vibe going) is followed by 30 minutes of them doing absolutely nothing. Then a dead guy shows up, makes some zombie faces then another 10 minutes of nothing. Follow that with 2 minutes of cool action, another 10 minutes of nothing, Rock cussing for 4 minutes and then 6 minutes of FPS and you have DOOM.

I thought it would be at least hilariously bad. Nope, just boring bad. Shame, cause the creatures looked kinda cool too.

I dunno what it is....maybe not enough references to the past, which I guess he was going for anyway.

I HATED the transformers/LOTR nerd. I absolutely hated that character. I didn't find him amusing even for a second. Pussy troll? Come ON!

Randall and Dante's interaction just didn't have that natural feel like it did in the first movie. It was like O'Hallaran and Anderson weren't the original actors but guys trying to imitate the orignal actors.

Rosario Dawson, as fine as that girl is, was just kinda there.

The whole donkey thing...yeah, didn't need it, it wasn't funny in the slightest.

I dunno, it gave me the same feeling I got when I watched Next Friday...underwhelmed.

I gotta side with Lushus. "Clerks 2" really doesn't do it for me that much. Then again, I think the last great Smith movie is either "Chasing Amy" or "Dogma", so what do I know.

His next movie is supposed to be a horror movie called "Red State", which apparently, is influenced by the behaviors of one Fred Phelps. Make of that what you will.

Odd casting choice for a TV guest role I just saw;

Chris Rock as a child rapist on Homicide:Life on The Street

I shit you not. It wasn't even that big of a part.

Unfortunately, no. He pretty much only had two lines which were "I don't know!" and "I didn't do it!" which were repeated over and over again. Not quite the impressive dramatic debut.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0785077/ on the bright side it has Jeffery Jones and Tony Cox but doesn't have Method Man or Red Man for what could of been a sequel of sorts to How High. But really is the world ready for a black version of Caddy Shack without Cedric the Entertainer? But then again maybe they should of called it Golf Movie to work off the success of Scary, Teen, Date, Epic series or parody movies.

Also the guy from AFHV is a name that pops up. (Not Saget, the other guy). I've heard George Hamilton as well. That's be a wreck.

John Fugelsang. The only suggestion I've heard for Barker's replacement so far that I've liked was Dan Patrick (which I believe was just a rumor).

I wouldn't mind seeing one of those old game show hosts like Chuck Woolery dusted off to replace Bob Barker. Hell, Richard Dawson's still alive! Bring him back! Let him slobber all over the old ladies.

Not that guy either. It's the Tom guy.

No. It's official. Regis did a talk show and the game show. Carey would be with the same company, anyways. Like you said, it's not that hard. Power of 10 probably wouldn't be a long term thing.
