Guest Shaved Bear Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 whcic one, i think in terms of sheer letdown, Final Fantasy, but in terms of poor quality i would say the Mario Brothers movie, anyone else?
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 I liked Super Mario Brothers movie...and I still do... Final Fantasy all the way for being the crappiest
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Mortal Kombat: Annihalation(sp?) - An hour and half of too many characters and a crappy story. Street Fighter comes close though. JCVD as Guile: "Chawlie!"
Guest The Man in Blak Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 I'd say Street Fighter: The Movie, followed closely by Street Fighter: The Movie, and with Street Fighter: The Movie pulling in at 2nd runner up.
Guest Flyboy Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Mortal Kombat: Annihalation... Street Fighter (Ugh) Double Dragon Super Mario Brothers Tomb Raider wasn't that good either. I frankly liked Final Fantasy, but that's just me.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 one thing i dont understand about Street Fighter, if Guile was a big bad tough American, how come he had a French accent, ahhh Jean Claude, whether hes a fashion designer or a rabbi, he never ceases to confuse all of us
Guest Flyboy Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 one thing i dont understand about Street Fighter, if Guile was a big bad tough American, how come he had a French accent, ahhh Jean Claude, whether hes a fashion designer or a rabbi, he never ceases to confuse all of us Hee-hee. True...
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Yeah, but he's where he belongs now...making straight to video B-movies. God bless him.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Final Fantasy was a good movie. People just hate it because it was animated and because it is a departure from most of the Final Fantasy games (although it is very similar to FFVII). Double Dragon was the worst video game movie.
Guest razazteca Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Street Fighter, Charlie = Blanka ??? Mario Brothers with Bob Hopkins as Mario Mortal Kombat Annilation, Raiden recast was lame Wing Commander the cast of Scooby Doo in a Sci-Fi movie ??? Tomb Raider, did Russo write/direct this movie
Guest nWoScorpion Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Anhiliation was goofy. 20 characters, 10 or so dif. stories, too much to follow.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Final Fantasy wasn't awful, rather really, really underwhelming. I personally liked it though the plot line was really predictable and simple for such advanced CG. Super Mario Brothers was a mistake of a movie premise. No opinion on MK:Annihaltion since I never saw it. Street Fighter featuring Jean Claude Van Damme as Guile made me really glad I paid to get the animated movie instead. Double Dragon really sucked, especially the ending. It wins my vote.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 My only argument against Double Dragon is that it wasn't even remotely the big-budget film that SF: The Movie was. But it did indeed suck. I haven't seen Wing Commander, but I can only imagine, considering that the storyline for the games wasn't exactly top-tier in itself in the first place.
Guest caboose Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 The Super Mario Brothers Film RULED~! Street Fighter Sucked though.
Guest Human Fly Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Street Fight was awful. Tomb Raider was just as bad, if not worse. I never walk out of movies, but I considered it during Tomb Raider
Guest razazteca Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Wing Commander featured Prinze and Illiard was very very bad but not in a Scream way.
Guest Karnage Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 I think Tomb Raider was a huge letdown. But then again, the game sucks too.
Guest J*ingus Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 I brought this up to my brother, and he said "Street Fighter" before I was even done asking the question. Some of the others were really mediocre or hella lame, but Street Fighter: The Movie was an æpic of crap such as I've rarely ever seen.
Guest Redhawk Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 I'd have to say Mario Brothers, especially for those henchmen who were tal as hell and had those really small, bald heads. We called them "Shaqs." What about that one Fred Savage movie?
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I'm seriously a huge mark for the Double Dragon movie. So corny, which is why I love it. And Koga Shuko owns! As for worst, I would say the Mario Bros. shizzle. Weaksauce all the way.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 What about that one Fred Savage movie? Are you talking about "The Wizard"? No WAY, d00d - that movie showed you where to get the first whistle in Super Mario Bros. 3. I think that disqualifies it immediately.
Guest Renegade Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 Street fighter the movie...with the exception of when Zang said "quick change the channel", otherwise i think its even worse than double dragon
Guest KoR Fungus Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 I finally saw Mortal Kombat: Annihilation yesterday on TBS, and it's easily the worst videogame movie, and perhaps the worst movie I've ever seen. I'm a total mark for horrendous movies, though, so I loved every minute. The best part had to be that unbelievably awful animality battle. Bad claymation rules! Having twenty different villians randomly jump onto the screen, fight for a few seconds, die, and never be mentioned again was also a nice touch. Replacing Christopher Lambert with some total nobody who can't act worth shit was also very cool. And you can't forget Jax, every movie needs its own Token Black Guy. What a movie! <<Final Fantasy all the way for being the crappiest>> Bah no way. Final Fantasy may have had a little too convoluted a plot and some really bad dialogue in places, but it had phenomenal animation and was much less corny than the average videogame movie. It's probably my second favorite videogame movie. Mortal Kombat is first, because it's really the only one that managed to translate the feeling of the game over to the movie.
Guest Smues Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 In the theater(lucky me) I saw Mario, Wing Commander, and Mortal Kombat Annilation. All sucked ass but nothing compares to Street Fighter, the movie that causes Raul Julia to die.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Anihilation was pretty bad, but I liked the first MK. It wasn't a great movie, but as far as video game movies go it was pretty good
Guest Shaved Bear Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 What about that one Fred Savage movie? Are you talking about "The Wizard"? No WAY, d00d - that movie showed you where to get the first whistle in Super Mario Bros. 3. I think that disqualifies it immediately. wait...where did you get the first whistle?
Guest Renegade Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 Anihilation was pretty bad, but I liked the first MK. It wasn't a great movie, but as far as video game movies go it was pretty good I really enjoyed the first MK film, but the second film sucked Baaaaaaaad. The only good bit was the Sub-Zero/Scorpion fight, and that lasted like 2 minutes
Guest Posted June 8, 2002 Report Posted June 8, 2002 Every movie based on a video game sucks because they don't have the same plots as the video games.
