Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2002 I picked up a PS2 this weekend and I want to get a mod chip that allows me to play CDR's and DVDR's, but I'm not sure what is the best chip to buy. I know there are external and internal chips (I'd prefer external), and I'm interested in what is the best and most reliable one?
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Define an external modchip - almost all of the ones I've seen involve internal installation and tinkering.
Guest Renegade Report post Posted June 3, 2002 A gameshark/action replay should work

They have mod chip units that plug into the USB port in the front of the PS2. They are portable and removable.
Guest Renegade Report post Posted June 8, 2002 Well i know someone who copied GTA3 onto CD (very bad sound and graphics, but somehow he did it), and by useing a gameshark he was able to use the sliver CD and play it. So a gameshark should work with imports too
