Favourite Old School Band

Recommended Posts

Guest

Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith ,The Beatles...

Some of the biggest names in MUSIC...and i believe these days that term is used far too loosley, namly on rap 'music'.

The REAL bands of the past paved the way for rap, r&b and all that other crap, but hey this isnt a flame folder.

So who's *YOUR* favourite old school band and why? Personally im all for Led Zeppelin, Stairway to Heaven remains the most kick ass and influencial song in the history of music to me. Also Aerosmith are beyond awesome.

This has been the Taker Mark..walkin' THIS way

AC/DC - They were, and still are t a lesser extent - Rock n Roll in human form - Bon Scott was everything that a rock start should be and more, along with the Young Brother's godlike guitar partnership- And 'Highway to Hell' was/is the sexiest, sleasiest album ever made.

Im a sucker for the time period later too late 70's early 80's most of the non-respected bands like styx, journey, foreigner.

and of course the early days of what can be "considered alternative" cure, joy divisio, elvis (not pressly duh), the clash, devo

AC/DC all the way. Nothing fancy just kickass Rock music. One of the few groups that didn't get hurt when Brian Johnson replaced Bon Scott. Both lead singer had there share of great songs.

AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Doors. I am not a fan at all of led zeppelin and i find them to be one of the most overrated bands of all time.

Don't know if they count, but I'll say the Clash. No real reason other than they were fucking awesome.

The Sex Pistols, simply because they personified the entire "fuck you" attitude I think rock n' roll SHOULD be about.

P-Funk All Stars as lead by George Clinton and Bootsy Collins!!!  The greatest funk band from the 70s but the Rock N Roll lifestyle was too much for the band and they fell apart with drug and alcohol abuse.

Warren Zevon...greatest lyrics ever...

Also into Donovan, Van Morrison, Jimi, and countless others that would take me too long to name.

The Beatles.

Hendrix.

The Who.

That about covers me.

(Though god bless the earlier mention of King Crimson, who are one of the most criminally underrated bands of that time)
