Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Well seeing as the summer is upon us and come July it will be one year since the InVasion of WCW/ECW. Today lets remember what WCW again. More importantly how stupid they were at times. The one moment I remember the most was David Arquette winning the WCW Title. What Were They Thinking!!!??!! Another memory was in 99 when they announced on Nitro that Mick Foley was going to win the WWF title that night in an effort to keep people watching their show, and then everyone turns the channel to RAW. LOL! What morons!

Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Another memory was in 99 when they announced on Nitro that Mick Foley was going to win the WWF title that night in an effort to keep people watching their show, and then everyone turns the channel to RAW. LOL! What morons! Tony Schiavone said "Tonight, on WWF Raw, the wrestler who used to wrestle here as Cactus Jack wins their World Title. Yeah, that'll put asses in the seats." It should be noted that the Nitro when he said it was the Georgia Dome one, with the fingerpoke of doom, which spelled the beginning of the end for Billionaire Ted and his involvement in pro-wrestling. Others..lets see... David Arquette winning the title, Judy Bagwell winning the tag title, the Ultimate Warrior angle, the fact that Vince Russo stayed in the Figure Four Longer than any other human being, and countless others. Kevin Nash ending Goldberg's streak. The Dark Scorpion. Captain Mike. The Patriots. The misuse of Benoit, Malenko, Guerrero, Raven, and all other talented folks. Guest Ash Ketchum Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Mario, I meant the logic of the match. NOT the Dungeon of Doom.
Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Some of the Cactus Jack amnesia stuff was pretty funny i thought. What about the classic 'Sting Murder Attempt'? Col. Robert Parker, Vader, Harley Race etc trying to blow up a freakin boat with the Stinger on board! One of the best/worst pieces of wrestlecrap ever produced. Guest papacita Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Hiring Hogan...nothing's stupider than that... Well, except maybe the Giant falls off the roof angle... Or maybe that house show I went to in 97...the one where I bought an nWo t-shirt and the damn thing ripped before I got home...the one where the audio didn't work for the 1st two matches...the one where Ric Flair...SHIT! That was the WORST show I've ever been to, period! Seconded only by the stupid ass Thunder I went to a year later! The televised crap was boring as hell, and main evented by Goldberg and somebody...during all of the commercial breaks, the announcer gets on the mic and says, "And remember, a special treat for all of you Philadelphia fans! The Giant WILL go 1 on 1 with Lex Luger after we go off the air!" Well I fell asleep sometime in between actually going off the air and that main event, but luckily woke up just in time to see Luger squash the shit outta Giant in maybe 5 minutes! Or maybe it was the other way around! I don't give a damn! That is 2 hours and 5 minutes of my life that I will NEVER be able to get back again! FUCK BISCHOFF!!! FUCK TURNER!!!! FUCK WCW!!!!!!!! DAMN!
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2002 The worst gimmicks or angles that WCW did are: Chucky Robocop Cactus Jack lost in Cleveland The Ding Dongs Oz David Arquette The Halloween Havoc, Superbrawl, and Beach Blast promos Wildcat Willie Oklahoma P.N. News The Yeti "That 70s Guy" Mike Awesome The Patriots The Kiss Demon The Chamber of Horrors match The Doomsday Cage match Big Josh Tex Slazenger Shanghai Pierce The Shockmaster Arachniman Johnny B. Badd Warrior in WCW The Renegade The Skins match The Maestro The Dog Black Blood The Juicer and every other bad gimmick or angle that has been put on a bad gimmick site or that people hate them.
Guest papacita Report post Posted June 3, 2002 There was also the ass-bustingly stupid decision of billing the company as WCW/nWo in mid-98...well after the stable had become stale.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2002 I still contend that my favorite Sid (and by default WCW, I guess) moment is when he stopped to excuse himself during a promo where he messed up his lines. Other than that would be Bash at the Beach 2000 (the first WCW Pay-Per-View I had seen since War Games 98 and the last one I ever saw) and all of the other "worked shoots." For some reason I particuarly hated Buzzkill (the gimmick, not the wrestler, as I have nothing but respect for Brad Armstrong). Maybe because I hated Road Dogg so a cheap knock-off would irritate me just that much more. That and Terry Funk and company as the "Old Age Outlaws" while I'm on that topic. Speaking of Terry Funk, him and Chris Candido having a hardcore match in a horse stable springs to mind. That Howard Stern cross-promotion shit they were doing during 2000 was pretty bad. Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 3, 2002 The Fat Chick Thriller Team Canada( all apologies to canadians but no one bought this shit) The Human Torch Match Kanyon doing a stuntman bump in the fucking kemper arena. Just a little disrespectful dont you think? Judy Bagwell on a pole. Malenko walking out of the ring in the catch as catch can match. I dont have all day but there sure are alot of retarded moments in wcw.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 4, 2002 I don't have that many bad things to say about WCW but I do have one beef with them. Back at Slamboree 2000, just under one year after the death of Owen, there was a triple cage match. At the end of this cage match Mike Awesome tosses Kanyon 20 feet from the cage onto the rampway to the ring, and a major injury angle was started. What I didn't like was that this stunt was done in the same arena that Owen died in less that a year before. That was a horrible example of bad taste I tell you. Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 4, 2002 damn, i never even realized that was in the same arena. that's bad. It never caught my attention because i wasnt watching much WCW at that point.
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted June 4, 2002 I can't believe nobody mentioned the big payoff to the whole "sting in the rafters" was a screwjob. that hurt WCW the worse
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Starcade 94, main event, Hogan vs Brutus. Cant get anyworse or stupid then that.

Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 5, 2002 Team Canada( all apologies to canadians but no one bought this shit) What was wrong w/ Team Canada? Sure, Duggan & Major Gunns were detriments, but it got Mike Awesome away from "That '70's Guy", utilized Lance Storm, and featured ELIX SKIPPER~!
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 5, 2002 team canada ruled all in the wcw. storm was the fearless and brave leader and i enjoyed watching all of the matches that team canada had. even though storm was the only real canadian in the group after the quebecers were fired. Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 5, 2002 i liked elix skipper and im a huge fan of storm but when duggan and awesome joined, it all went down hill. The gimmick itself was a good idea. The stickers on the belts were awesome.
