Guest dreamer420 Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 i going to say no decision. odds are that something crazy will happen before this fight really gets going that is going to end it.
Guest Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 I want Tyson to win, but most experts are going with Lewis.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Tyson'll get him with a wide open shot in the first 4 rounds to win it.
Guest Some Guy Posted June 3, 2002 Report Posted June 3, 2002 Lewis is going to pump the jab and frustrate Tyson with his reach. Then in about the 4th round Lewis will attack, like he did to Rahman. I'm not sure Lewis will knock Tyson out but he'll probably win before the 12th round is over, either a dq or a TKO.
Guest Anorak Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 If Lewis manages to avoid any of his stupid lapses where he lets inferior opponents get a free shot at him he should win. With Tyson's star power and the sheer scale of the fight i think Lewis will keep his focus and outbox him. Lewis should have learned his lesson about being 'suckered' by now and for me Tyson can only win by Lewis falling into that trap again and gifting him the fight on a plate.
Guest DrTom Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 Lewis. Tyson's been past his prime for several years now, and beating a bunch of chumps doesn't make him in the class of a very good boxer like Lennox Lewis.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 I want Tyson to win, but I think the only way he can win is by knocking Lewis out. He can't outbox him for 12 rounds, so he will need to knock him out. In a fight like this, it would behoove Tyson to have a good corner, but he doesn't have one. Lewis will probably frustrate Tyson in this fight.
Guest What?! Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 Whenever Lewis has actually been focused in his match, he wins. And this is the match he wanted all along so I'm going with Lewis with a possible knockout in the later rounds.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 Holyfield's prediction: Tyson Bitterness? Jealousy? Is he just stupid? And I meant Lewis will win, with the reach and skill he has over Tyson. As I began to type my message, something made me hit F1, and all I got out was the word Tyson and hit post.
Guest Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 Tyson in 5 ko. The reason evander destroyed tyson was because he brought shit to him, no fear, lewis will box him and that is not the best approach for him. Tyson will get inside and expose the glass jaw. Trust me, tyson in 5, you read it here first. --Rob
Guest Human Fly Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I think one of three things will happen 1. Tyson wins by KO early 2. Lewis wins by KO early 3. By about round 8 or 9 Lewis will be winning, Tyson will be winded, and then Tyson will flip out and get DQed.
Guest Invader3k Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I only follow boxing a little...but I like Lewis so I say he wins either by KO or by Tyson getting DQed...or maybe it will be a Severn/Shamrock situation where the two guys are too scared to mix it up and circle for a long time for the first few rounds, only making very brief exchanges...wouldn't surprise me. One thing I know is that I'm not ordering this one...55 bucks? Not bloody likely...
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I have serious issues with Lennox Lewis talking about how he is the saviour of boxing and how he's going to rid boxing of Mike Tyson. I saw a Kevin Rooney interview on the Best Damn Sports Show and I wanted to give him a standing ovation. Lewis was saying Tyson was boxing's last misfit and Rooney said Tyson wasn't a misfit and Lewis isn't going to take care of him. Lennox Lewis needs to get his ass kicked again.,
Guest ant_7000 Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I want Tyson to win, but I don't know if he is going to be in good shape to fight Lewis.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Lewis is the Lakers of Boxing. Talks shit but wins. And I hate him.
Guest caboose Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 Either Tyson is gonna knock Lewis out in 5 or 6, OR Lewis is gonna dismantle Tyson on points. Lewis has been going on about punishing Tyson, and for a long time there has been no-one better than Lewis at dismantling opponents. Tyson will try to blitz Lewis early and if he doen't get the KO, Lewis will make Tyson look like a rookie.
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 no one else sees this fight ending with tyson knocking out the ref, or a fan jumping in the ring or something to that effect? this fight has controversy written all over it I think.
Guest Some Guy Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 I don't like either guy, Lewis' holyier than thou attitude and Tyson's insanity and dirty fighting don't exactly make me want either to win but Lewis is certainly better for Boxing's image than Tyson as world champ, Tyson is a sideshow freak who should stick to beating the shit out of fat Danish guys.
Guest Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Tyson in 4, he is gonna knock Lewis flat on his ass.
Guest alkeiper Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Lewis is certainly better for Boxing's image than Tyson as world champ Lewis has a better image, but Tyson would be better for business. He's just more marketable as a fighter.
Guest Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 dreamer, a fan will not be able to jump into the ring, security there will be like fort knox. You couldn;t let a fart slip in there without being fucked with. It would be funny to see the parachute guy from bowe/holyfield drop down though. --Rob
Guest JHawk Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 If it goes past the fourth round, Lewis wins. Tyson has to knock Lewis in the first four rounds to have a legit shot. He can't outbox Lewis, and he hasn't gone the distance since before the prison term. It depends on if we get focused Tyson or mental case Tyson. The old Tyson would eat Lewis alive, but I have this feeling we're not getting anything resembling the old Tyson in this fight.
Guest NoCalMike Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 Lewis has a glass jaw, that much is known. Lewis will use his jab to keep Tyson at a distance that will make it difficult for Tyson to get inside. I am thinking that Tyson will come out roaring in the first few rounds and may even sacrifice his body and try to walk through some jabs in order to get inside. I say if this fight goes past 5 or 6 rounds then I favor Lewis. The way Tyson(his camp) is talking, it looks like he is going for the quick easy kill, and if that doesn't work, he may get frustrated and snap again, who knows?
