Career Milestones

Recommended Posts

Not counting the likes of Pedro Martinez (3,000 K's) Craig Biggio (3,000 Hits) Tom Glavine(300 Wins). Who all should be able to reach their respected career milestones by next season. What players do you see having a good chance of reaching the significant individual marks held in such high regard?

Just a few guesses.

3,000 Hits- Jeter

3,000 SO's-Santana

500 HR's-Dunn

300 Wins-Buehrle.

I don't think any pitcher is a lock to win 300 games. Buerhle was my choice because he's only 27 and already as 90 career wins. He should have over 100 by the time the seasons over.

Another popular candidate for 300 wins is Roy Oswalt. He is only 28 (will be 29 this year), is 88-42 in his career which is only six seasons in.

3000 Hits - A-Rod will be the last man to do it

700 HR - A-Rod

600 HR - Pujols

Close to and will get 500 HR - Manny, Thome, Delgado

Not close, but will get 500 HR - Andruw Jones, Vlad Guerrero

3000 K's - After Pedro and Schilling the next guy will be Johan Santana

300 Wins - Never gonna happen again after the 200+ crew retire, but if I had to guess, I'll go with Santana when he eventually signs with the Yankees. Oswalt says he wants to retire at 33 or 34.

I really doubt that. Some prospect will come along break alot of hitting records.

And is this post just about baseball? If so you should put that in the title.

As far as career milestones, the obvious names have been listed but there's always the chance that someone can have a long career (like Palmiero) and manage to put up numbers.
