Will the WWE ever use "classic" footage of wcw/ecw

It would seem to make sense.  Certain guys like Dreamer and Raven, etc....probobaly could benefit from using "historic" footage in order to help legitimize their existence in the WWE right now.  A lot of wrestlers that were over before the WWE have just been killed, and the WWE seems to have trouble at the moment creating stars.  I see Dreamer is wrestling Undertaker tonight, now given what Dreamer has done/accomlished so far in the WWE, who would think Dreamer has a reasonable chance. Throw in some promos from his days in ECW, or some old footage and it might help, MIGHT, of course, it isn't a guarantee, but then again since WWE isn't in danger of losing any viewers to ECW(har har) then I don't see how it would hurt to do this for Dreamer and others struggling to get over.  This idea for Dreamer of course only comes in to play if they are actually looking at Dreamer to get over for the long-term and not just as a toy for Undertaker to kick around.........

1) The WWE doesn't own the ECW footage library... yet.

 

2) Tommy Dreamer is too busy practicing for next week's Raw by eating shit from Big Show's toilet to be getting over as anything remotely resembling his ECW persona.

 

3) I don't see either Raven or Tommy Dreamer ever becoming WWE main eventers, or at least people worthy of a 2 minute video spot featuring highlights from their careers.

 

4) This would have worked had they shown said footage during the wrestler's debuts.

Ahh that is so true fucking Vince. also if Vince doesn't own ECW footage how come when RVD came in last year on his titan tron showed heaps of ECW clips.

The way I was told it Dreamer probably won't be getting over as much as he will be putting others over due to an injury? I thought I heard he got pretty broken up somewhere. =/

I believe they paid the owners of the ECW logo, theme, footage, etc. a sum of money to use all that stuff during the Invasion until last November.
