Guest Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 It's that time again. Some good stuff from MGM this week, hopefully something will catch your eye. Audition: Freaky, sick, disturbing Japanese film. Not for everyone, but certainly worth checking out. I heard the U.S. version isn't uncut, but I'm not sure. Blue Velvet SE: One of my favourite David Lynch films, and I feel this SE is worth picking up for the interviews and deleted scenes. Also, the Siskel & Ebert review essay sounds interesting. Caveman: Pretty funny little 80's film with a great cast and hilariously dated F/X. The movie comes in widescreen and is really cheap, so you can't go wrong if you are a fan of this film. Hero & the Terror: One of my favourite Chuck Norris films. Very dark, with a cool villian and Norris in a weaker, more vunerable role. It's almost a quasi horror film. Men at Work: Hated by most, but loved by me. I saw this in the theatre, and still like it to this day. It gets super silly at the end, but the beginning scenes where they collect garbage is pretty funny. Another cheapie title. The Mothman Prophecies: One of my favourite films of 2002 so far. Amazing direction and atmosphere, plus a KILLER ending. The DVD is pretty lame (trailer only), so I may hold off until the SE later this year. Skin Deep: Pretty funny John Ritter comedy with one very memorable scene. Anamorphic widescreen, 5.1 and a cheap price tag. UHF: The highly anticipated Wierd Al movie is finally here! The DVD is a pretty loaded SE, so all fans of this movie should be happy. 'Till next week.

Guest TUS_02 Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 Does the Men at Work DVD have any features... I love the fucking movie and would be willing to snag it if there is at least commentary.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted June 4, 2002 Report Posted June 4, 2002 Yes UHF is here and its a bright day. And only 9.99 too. It's cheap to like movies that most people think is crap.

The Men at Work DVD is in anamorphic widescreen and comes with the trailer. It's a cheapie title, so if you are a fan of the film it's a good deal. I'm happy enough with the widescreen transfer.
