Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 Who's your favorite highflyer ever? Mine would probably have to be Superfly just because he revolutionized and basically made highflying in the U.S.
Guest Dark Lotus Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 What? No Pillman? I'm sorry, but especially in the early 90s, his matches with Liger were greatness. Pillman was the guy who really got me into the "lightweight" style of wrestling.
Guest Tim Cooke Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 Rey Jr. is easily the best and my favorite of the flyers listed. As far as putting things together with flying right, the 1/21/96 Samurai v Otani match makes everything perfect flying wise. Tim
Guest Tony149 Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 I also voted Rey Mistero Jr. I would of voted for DK, but I can barely remember anything he did.
Guest J*ingus Posted February 14, 2002 Report Posted February 14, 2002 How'd you forget __? Tiger Mask and Jushin Liger?
Guest dreamer420 Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 I don't have a favorite but I do like Psicosis, RVD, and the Blue Blazer
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 I like the new guys but the best high flyer was Ricky Steamboat. Not only could he fly but he made it a point of having great matches, not just spotfests.
Guest TheHulkster Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 I was really into the cruiserweight division in wcw, but then i saw ultimo dragon in action, and the son of a bitch blew me away, he was hands down my favorite cruiser from the golden age of the cruiserweight belt in wcw.
Guest Army Eye Posted February 15, 2002 Report Posted February 15, 2002 Pillman, Pillman, and more Pillman. Liger should be on that list too! Out of the guys on the list I like Ultimo Dragon. Wish we got to see more of him in the US.
Guest ElLocoTas Posted February 17, 2002 Report Posted February 17, 2002 Off the guys on the list Rey jr used to be the best imo. Judging on his stuff as a masked wrestler in Mexico and in the USA he once was able to pull out every known highflying move.
Guest Marius714 Posted February 17, 2002 Report Posted February 17, 2002 How did Tiger Mask get left off the poll? He was the best I ever saw hands down. Of course my favorite has got to be Silver King, I mean he did get WCW to pay him like 180K a freaking year! If he is capableof that maybe some other athletes should have him as their agent.
Guest MRFTW Posted February 17, 2002 Report Posted February 17, 2002 "I like the new guys but the best high flyer was Ricky Steamboat" Oh come on, I like the Dragon as much as the next guy but he was hardly a high flyer. He did all of 2 moves off the top regularly that I can remember and then the rest of his offense was mat bassed. He did a cross body block and a chop to the head and that's all. That's like calling Bobby Eaton a high flyer cause his finisher was the Alabama Jam top rope leg drop.
Guest gwf0704 Posted February 17, 2002 Report Posted February 17, 2002 From the list given, Rob Van Damm ECW days. Off the list its gotta be Tiger Mask with honorable mentions going to Pillman, Liger and old school wrestler, Antonio Rocca!
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 How can you forget HAYABUSA~! He is not just a spot machine but he can actually wrestle.
Guest Drury37 Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 I am sorry I messed up on a message and landed up with 2 so here it is. Thanks.
Guest Drury37 Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 In words of Gary Michael Chappetta,"FLIYIIIN"BRIIIAN PILMAN!!! Thanks.
Guest AzkulKazul Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Has to be Ultimo Dragon the guy was just so damned good. I wish him good luck on his comeback.
Guest patscorpio Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 What about 2 cold scorpio. He was no cruiserweight (he weighed around 235-240), but he was doing moves that are today are still mindboggling. The Scorpio (450) splash. The Tumbleweed legdrop (pure innovative move), the Drop Da Bomb legdrop (moonsault into a legdrop), the slingshot 450 splash, etc. Plus he had the best moonsault in the business.
